We love Big J's Pizza and feel like it's the Corralitos community's best kept secret that should not be kept a secret! Pete and Annie make the best calzones and pizza around and we are lucky to have them right here in Corralitos! The flavors are delicious because they use quality ingredients and the crust is fluffy and the flavor is my absolute favorite. I like thin crust sometimes too, but I always like the taste of Big J's dough the best. A side of breadsticks brushed and seasoned with garlic and herbs is always a delicious addition. We prefer to pick up our pizza so we can stop in for a visit with Annie and Pete, but delivery is a convenient option and is timely and courteous (deserving of a generous tip especially when they come out to our country road). They also have salads, pasta, wings, drinks etc and pizza-by-the-slice that you can enjoy on the picnic tables outside or take to-go! read more

The secret is in the sauce. I do enjoy the "other" local pizza place on Freedom Blvd., but Big J's has them beat on the one aspect of a pizza that makes it or breaks it; the sauce. Finding just the right balance of bright, sweet, and spicy is no mean feat but Big J's has done it. I have no idea where they get their pepperoni, but it also stands out. And I love that they carry RC Cola. I thought they'd gone out of business years ago, so it's nice to see that again. Definitely worth the trip. read more

I have loved Big J's for a long time--at least 15 years. We order pizza from them at least a couple of times a month. Their owner, Pete, doesn't just make a pizza you can get "anywhere." It's thick, soft, crispy, and has all the right stuff! The sauce has changed in the past couple of years. it used to be a bit more spicy--perhaps more garlic, pepper, chilli in it. I LOVED that sauce. Now the sauce is still good, but not AS outstanding as it once was. For me, the sauce MADE those pizzas UNIQUE and I'm not someone that normally loves/ed spicy stuff a lot. BRING BACK THE OLD SAUCE AS AN OPTION on the menu~ Great place, great people, always friendly, Great pizza, salads, calzones, pasta, and other stuff. What more could you want!! Love Big J's. Not inexpensive, but really good and very convenient for us Corralitos folks. They deliver too.

Our favorite is the Corralitos Special, Greek Salad, and wings! All of Pete's pizza combos are good though.

The pizza is not the best I've ever had but the price is right, the employees and the owner are friendly, and it's the only restaurant that delivers to my house. So I give it 4 stars for convenience and the friendly attitude of the staff. read more

Yikes! After reading these reviews, we figured this was a sure shot for a decent pepperoni pizza. What we got was a bland pie with barely a sweep of bitter-tasting sauce, cheap cheese and a crust that tasted like cardboard. The invisible pepperoni was underneath the cheese -- at first glance, we thought they had made us a plain cheese pie. Sorry, but we won't be back. read more

Ok first off this is NO GEM...this place is more like garbage... i would rather eat dominoes or pizza hut any day...the owner is mean and stubborn i live in corralitos and i have now eatten here 3 time's two of the times it was pizza and third was a calzone i don't know if you guys work for this guy or what..i called last night and i wanted a calzone and some chicken wings...the lady that i was ordering from said i had to order a pizza as well to deliver...(owners rules) i said i don't like you're guys pizza! i wanted to try a calzone and i will order wings as well total still is 20+ dollars ok so after me complaining for ten min the owner finally said ok he will do it...so this calzone was UNDER COOKED + burnt on the bottom how is that possible? and greasy grossness, I gave it three trys i'm never going back again! And the owner tried to argue with me about putting my pepperoni's on top of the pizza not under the cheese (i like them dry/crunchy) not a puddle of grease under more cheese grease, any ways ya avoid this shit hole place! NEVER GOING BACK! I can make way better pizza from scratch i should open up a pizza place here in corralitos that guy sucks! oh ya my chicken wings...soggy as hell black/burnt under them...and frozen or microwaved not fresh at all...If people really think this is good pizza then you guys have very unrefined pallets for food/pizza. Pizza my heart...tony and albas, pacific ave pizza and grill all A+. Yummy pizza with fresh ingredients. I recently had the pizza called The Crate with broccoli, cauliflower, onions and jalapeños. It was so good and smothered in so many veggies it didn't feel quite as sinful as pizza can but but still conquerors that pizza craving. I used to work at this place years ago as a delivery driver... everything on the menu is delicious as for the complaints by the lady about delivery price... well its free delivery and its not always possible to have exact change. delivery drivers are not cash registers dont be so damn cheap if you want a cheap pizza go to little ceasars if you want quality go to big j's! anyways calzones are amazing but my personal favorite pizza pesto and mushroom. The petes special is a winner in my book. Lots of people rave about the greek salads as well. read more

Excellent! We've tried a lot of different things on the menu and everything's been good. Especially the calzones. It's small inside so clearly meant for delivery or carry out but that's mostly who they serve and just fine with me. We've been ordering pizza from Big J's since we moved out to South County 10 years ago. The pizza's always good, sauce is tasty, offbeat combos are fun. The salads are fresh and a nice addition to a pizza dinner. We always get coupons in the mail or on our pizza box and find it to be a good value. Delivery is always within 5-10 minutes of when it's promised and driver carries ample change. The staff is great and we're glad to support a business that gives us good food at our doorstep! read more

Pizza is not my favorite. But Big J's pizza is. The crust is so yummy. I usually like thin, slightly burnt crust......but I am so loving this thicker crust. The edges of the crust are thicker, so it's almost like a crust "Handle". The toppings on our Awesome large pizza were fresh and generous. Definitely going to be a regular customer. read more

I went to Big J's Pizza because of bad review. The reviewer seemed mad because of a no delivery policy except for pizza. And another for an honest mistake but both even thou mad loved the pizza. The owner has been making pizza since 1964. And to refer to him as a Jerk is sad. I am 69 and he may have been older. I found a very nice man that takes heart in what he does. He came out twice to ask me if everything was ok. The pizza was great. I had sausage and green peppers. My next trip will be for a calzone as a reviewer says they are to die for... read more
