First, I would like to say that Carol is very generous and kind. I met her when I attended a fashion show fundraiser for a community organization. I told her that I was looking for a stylist, and she immediately said that she would be happy to help me. Carol, and the other 2 women that work for her, were extremely helpful, as were the other customers. This is not your typical store. There was actual camaraderie amongst everyone in the store. Everyone supported one another. Opinions were honest and uplifting, whether it was Carol, her staff, or the other customers. In appreciation for the large purchase that I made, Carol offered me a free item. When I asked if I could donate it to an animal rescue, for use in a fundraiser, she told me that she would give me a second item, so that I could donate one and keep the other. The clothing line at Carol's Creations is very unique. You will not find mass-produced items here, and that is a huge part of the appeal to me. Everything is high quality, and I expect it to last. I am happy that I was able to find clothing that is flattering and different. Anything you purchase here will make you look your best, and you will not look like all of the other people in the room. If you want to find beautiful clothes and friendly, helpful, sales associates, this is the place to go.

"Karma, karma, karma, karma Karma chameleon…read moreYou come and go, you come and go" (Culture Club) Karma's Closet is a well-organized, neat, and fully stocked thrift store and consignment shop. We were warmly welcomed when we walked in and spent a half hour or so browsing around in search of a black and gold gown and black and gold bowtie for a summer event. And where those hard-to-find items continue to elude us, we did see a ton of very nice things for sale. Some of the things were belts, purses, handbags, men's & women's clothing, shoes, boots, sandals, some high end sneakers, kitchen and household goods, small furniture, luggage, and plenty more. So, if you enjoy thrifting, you'll sure enjoy a visit here. PRO TIPS 1) The Yelp listing had an incorrect address. I put in an update today, and the proper address (still in Newington) is 27 Garfield Street. 2) If you're interested in consigning clothes here, Karma's Closet offers a 50/50 split on all consignment items.

In hindsight, I should have tried to sell them myself since these exact same items are listed on eBay for $90 & $100. I wrongly trusted this business to safely sell my items for me.

We've visited their Simsbury store a bunch of times, and we saw pretty much the same selection of low priced goods here in Glastonbury - men's & women's clothing, shoes, household goods, artwork, books, toys, etc. We caught a 50% off sale on clothing yesterday, and I walked out with a $15 blazer for $7.50. Pretty sweet, eh? All proceeds go to charity (The Village for Families) and the store employees are all volunteers. The two women we interacted with were as nice and friendly as could be, we really enjoyed chatting with them. Bottom line? You can score some great bargains and support a worthy charity all at the same time.

KINDEST WORKER I'VE EVER MET…read more Some of my friends and I recently went to goodwill and had the pleasure of meeting William. He is the sweetest cashier we've ever meet. He was cheerful, friendly, and humorous. One of the items I was checking out didn't have a tag. While another kind worker, David, quickly solved the problem, Will talked to us the entire time. Even though the store was closing soon and most workers would be rushing to get customers out, he didn't make us feel like a burden. We will be back very soon in hopes of seeing him!!! :) Chloe, Avery, Alexa, & Brenna

This Goodwill isn't the largest, it is still a nice size. Their clothing is sorted by size and by color. The books could be much better organized. If the kid's books, and at the very least "adult" books could be on separate shelves it would make browsing a lot easier. It is worth a look as most will run you $1.99. One of the things that makes me a bit sad is when I find someone's grandma in a framed portrait. You won't be finding my grandma's picture at any Goodwill. Another thing that I'm a bit confused about, is whoever gets rid of handmade pottery. They all have their names engraved on the bottom. These are very unique and likely made in high school, then given to Grandma. On today's trip I found a very cute plush bird. I have a few of these birds in my office. This Goodwill is fairly priced and it has fitting rooms.

We get there about 5 and was told the owner (?) sent the seamstress home early because "she's 81 and needs sleep" so okay... fine. We go back on Saturday when he said she would be there, which she was. My husband puts the jacket on and I put on the dress. The seamstress looks at my husband's jacket and refuses to work on it because it was a bit big and she said there was nothing she could do. The owner (?) who was there then proceeded to make my husband try on jackets that were too small and when my husband said they were too small and did not fit properly, the owner said "well I know. I just wanted you to see what this looked like "... but why?? The seamstress moves onto me and looks me up and down then asks what I want. I needed some padding taken out of the chest, a shorter hem as it was about 6inches too long even with my heels on, and a little more cut on the slit of the dress. Nothing crazy. She literally refused every. single. thing. She told me that I should not have bought the dress offline (like I had a choice, that's where the bride picked for us to get our dresses), refused to take the padding out of the dress, despite the padding not being in the correct place and making me look like I had 4 boobs, said that the dress is "supposed to be flowy and is so beautiful at the bottom so I shouldn't get it hemmed" (even though it was obviously ridiculously too long and I would trip trying to walk in it), and just flat out told me no to having more of a slit cut. She told me I should have ordered a bigger dress and then the pads would fit, but the dress itself fits me perfectly and I dont need anything taken in at all, but insisted I needed bigger. Then said "you buy a bigger dress then come in here and I'll help you" YEA RIGHT like I would ever ever ever ever give them my time and money. I don't know how they are still open. I would never recommend anyone to go here for anything.
