In theory, Torrid should be one of my favorite stores out there, just a little expensive. Unfortunately, this specific Torrid totally misses the mark. I'm not sure why I keep stopping in when I'm in Manchester, I think probably because it's next to Lane Bryant and near Avenue.
My complaint isn't with the staff - they're friendly and helpful when they can be. But this store lacks organization and space. Although the front of the store is clean and organized, the aisles are small and there's barely room to breathe. There's a few "dead ends" where you can't get around to the other side when you go down an aisle. And they only have a few fitting rooms. I've been in, had stuff to try on, and actually left before I was able to get into a fitting room because I was tired of waiting.
But my biggest issue is the clearance section. Don't get me wrong. I don't expect the clearance section to be pristine, but theirs is a huge mess. There's some sort of concept of organization but it never lasts. Sizes are jumbled and things are on the floor pretty much every time I've been in. Today, clothes were inside out, falling on the hangers, etc.
If you're looking for a pleasant experience, avoid clearance and avoid the dressing rooms if it's busy. read more
