She politely asked if it could be remade with a little less sweetness. The barista, who I can only assume was the owner based on this interaction, responded incredibly snippily, saying she would remake it but would normally charge us for an entirely new drink. When I asked for clarification, she snapped that she meant the WHOLE latte and proceeded to explain that she makes every drink with "quality control" to ensure it is made correctly, but it might not be our "preference." She also made sure to emphasize how wasteful it was to remake it. I have never experienced such an unnecessarily hostile response to such a simple, reasonable request when it comes a latte. Someone's preference for coffee is subjective and customer service should still matter to an owner of a business. We came in excited to support a local business and left with a terrible impression. If this is how customers are treated over a latte, I can only imagine how other issues would be handled. There are plenty of coffee shops that understand customer service is just as important as the product they serve, and those are the businesses I would rather support.

They manage to sit at the bar. We were told it's first come first serve and we needed to just grab a seat. Would have been nice if we were told that from the start, especially since we couldn't sit at the empty seats earlier. We got our food to go instead more than an hour after we first came in. If there was anything else open by the time we found out, we would have just left. Despite this, I'd say this is a good spot to get food to go, or make sure you have reservations ahead of time.

My parents live in Cloudcroft N.M. My family comes out at least 2 times a year to visit. I also have 3 sisters who come out to visit with their families every year. That's an additional 15 plus people through out the year that hang out at my parents cabin and venture out each day to enjoy what cloudcroft has to offer. Big Daddy's was the last place we stopped at this year. We've been to the Lodge many times, as well as Mad Jacks and the Western Bar and we have a feel of the community and love each of these places for certain reasons. My post today is to say that, we walked into big daddy's not sure of what to except. We were greeted by the most personable and attentive lady. We sat in a booth and admired all of the pictures on the walls of singers and performers. The bathrooms were clean and it was a comfortable place to sit after a day of enjoying each and every store in town. Our food came out and I can honestly say that I think about their queso and homemade chips and their tator tots way more than I should! I cannot wait to come back in October and revisit Big Daddy's (and my parents) They had exceptional service, the food was delicious and I am grateful I got to experience my lunch there!
