I've had their paleo/gluten-free muffins (with chocolate chips) a couple of times - they're always so moist and so flavorful! It's great that they offer GF treats so us sad folk can enjoy baked goods like everyone else. Today I bought a paleo cookie (with chocolate chips, obvsi) and a paleo muffin (to enjoy tomorrow for breakfast). The cookie was phenomenal! So big and made with yummy almond flour. Heading for the C train, my body distinctly turned hard right when my nose grabbed hold of the heavenly sweetness emanating from this unassuming storefront. I'm no expert on banana bread nor gluten-free baked goods, but I did thoroughly enjoy their gluten-free banana bread muffin this morning, along with an equally delicious iced coffee. The muffin was light, fluffy and moist, not crumbly. The small iced coffee, while a bit steep at $3 for my wallet, was a perfect companion and had great robust flavor. The reason I'm giving it a 3 star is because, the place is really small. If you're planning to sit down with a friend and have some coffee. Good luck trying to find a place. We all love a bakery where we like to sit and chat, while eating our delicious baked goods. The kitchen takes up most of the area in the bakery and this is the reason why you can't find a place to sit. But now let's get to the baking/goods. My friend ordered this airy cookie that seemed like it'd have cream on top. Unfortunately it wasn't cream. It wasnt really filling either and it felt like a piece of paper. The price for that wasn't reasonable at all. The drinks at the store weren't great either. I ordered an ice tea but it tasted very bitter and not like the ice tea I usually have. My friend ordered a hot chocolate and said it tasted odd to her. I tasted it and realized that they added cinnamon in it. I believe a customer should say whether they want cinnamon in their hot chocolate. If you really want a filling thing to eat. I recommend the Dulce cake. It was definitely filling and delicious. It was sweet so if you don't like sweets as much. I don't recommend. read more

I LOVE their blueberry banana bread paleo muffins! I don't eat gluten or dairy anymore, so all I can eat is their paleo stuff, but I love that that have at least a couple of things. I made it a point to come by after work to try their famous Red Velvet and Dulce de Leche cupcakes, but they were all sold out by the time I arrived. Jose (the owner) said he would set some aside for me if I do plan on coming back another time. I will save that for the review update. I did get to try the coffee which turned out to be pretty decent. It's nice to know they steam the milk before preparing it. My only gripe here is there's no restroom for customers. One of my favorite bakeries for years, however I'm only just writing a review because there was a sign outside saying that someone on Facebook said this was the worst cupcake they had ever eaten. Not sure if that's actually a true story, but I'm here to tell you that Big Booty makes one of my favorite cupcakes ever. It's not fussy, not fancy, just a real good cupcake like the kind that your mom would make you if your mom was Martha Stewart. I alternate between the Funfetti and the Cookies and Cream. They taste homemade in the best way. If this bakery had their own candle that mimicked the smell as you walk through the door, I would buy one for everyone I know and the world would be a happier place. read more

One of best red velvet cupcakes in the city, as good as Two Little Red Hens, and I'm dead serious! The frosting is light, fluffy, and cream-cheesy, and the cake is very moist. Dulce de leche cupcake is a little dry but still has a good flavor. Was seriously disappointed with dulce de leche napoleon (possibly the worst napoleon I've ever had) but since their red velvet cupcakes are so damn good, I gotta give them four stars. read more

Such a cute little bakery! I know I know, cute bakeries are everywhere, but is it a GOOD bakery? Well, let me tell you. I had some pretty great coffee here, and an even better chai latte. The chai was a little sweet, but I liked it that way. They also had some delicious little pastries in the display case that I was very intrigued by, but I unfortunately didn't have time to get any. Came in for a croissant,and was ignored. The staff is very rude and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I asked for help and the guy responded "I'm coming for you". I just left. No apology for the wait or for completely ignoring me. I have been here before and love their pastries/dessert, but will not be back due to their rude service. Advice to management, train your Tuesday morning staff how to treat your customers. read more

i hate to judge a place based on one cupcake alone, but seriously? the banana-nut cupcake with chocolate butter cream frosting looked and sounded amazing, but was hands down the worst cupcake i've had since i started my "nyc cupcake tour". the cake was dry, the icing was greasy, and it was all quite flavorless. i'll give it another try some other time. their cookies look fantastic, maybe i'll fare better with those. read more

I always get their house coffee which happens to be Colombian coffee and any other pastry I'm in the mood for..which usually is a red velvet cupcake! Stopped by here while wandering around in Chelsea. Customer service here isn't that great but the Dulce de Leche bread makes up for it. The loaf is like a large, round brioche. On top there is some sugar and inside there is the dulce de leche mix. Its great as is but even better after heating (5/5). I'll definitely be back soon (plus, the place has a cool name). read more

Thrift shopping always gives me an appetite, so while waiting for the 23rd st bus home, I saw BB's cute sign out front. And frankly, since my OWN booty is rather wide, I thought, "hey, whatever.." I wanted to try something not exactly standard fare. Hubby was born in Mexico, so "Tres Leche cake" kicked the gong for me. I bought two slices and took them home, enjoying them over several days in small chunks, as this cake is rich beyond imagining. I have made note of the brownies, the red velvet cake, and various other insanely wonderful looking tasties. For starters, I'd been walking past this bakery that intrigued me for what's two years now and it wasn't until this past holiday season that their Gingerbread Cookies in their holiday window display intrigued me enough to finally, stop in. I'd seen them on my walk to the barbershop I go to in the area and said that I was going to make it appoint to stop in and at least try one on my walk back to my car after my haircut. Well, I'm glad I did because I wound up ordering 2 dozen cookies for Christmas Eve/Day. First off, their Gingerbread Cookies were/are the best I've ever had to date. From their size, taste, design, etc. Simply, the best! Everyone who I spent my Christmas Eve/Day all enjoyed them just as much as I did! Also, their Sugar cookie version of their holiday gingerbread cookies were even better, than their gingerbread cookies, but that's just a personal preference. In addition too both of those cookies; the assortment I left up to the owner to make for me of their other speciality cookies were just as good, if not better than the other two types of cookies I ordered! Their taste, texture and SIZE; were all worth their HEFTY, price tag. All in all, it was for the holidays and that's when everyone does their most splurging because it's the "Season of giving," etc. and plus this is Manhattan, NY that we're talking about, but $93.00 for 2 dozen cookies was A LOT. However and again; the ordering process was made easy by welcoming, friendly and accommodating owner/employee. So much, that during my travels from NJ to Long Island, NY; I had to stop off at the bakery and they offered to accommodate by leaving my order with the doorman next door for safekeeping because it was on Christmas Eve and the bakery was supposed to be closing early. Turns out, they wound up not closing as early as they intended, but thankfully my order was ready to go as I'd prepaid in advance. The entire process was well worth it and I'm glad that the Holiday Season intrigued me enough to enter and experience the bakery and its product. The lady who helped me today was so friendly. I've been searching for good ol' fashion cinnamon buns and I've come up only with sticky buns or challah twists. No can do. Got a cinnamon bun and I'd give it a 3.5. Not what I'm looking for but good enough. It was fresh out of the oven and had a crispy crust, soft inner on every layer--that was great. But what blew me away was this cheesy biscuit thing. Blew me away. Biscuit on the outside, buttery (def bad for you) on the inside. I will eat one every day until I weigh 1,000 lbs. This small little place bakes everything right before you. Their red velvet cupcakes are to die for! They are not too sweet and the frosting actually does have a rich cream cheese taste. I ordered one but I ate it within minutes, so I couldn't help but by another one. The price was reasonable for a good cupcake in New York City. I just wished the service was a little bit quicker since there's only one person behind the cashier and wish the place was a little bigger. I love the name of this place though haha. read more

This place doesn't look like much, but I dare you to go inside. With the strong lack of bakeries (I'm talking cupcakes, people) surrounding the Penn Station area, it's great to have finally found a good one! Their cupcakes, again, don't look anything spectacular but they really are moist and delicious! My favorite so far is the Chocolate Ganache cupcake. I've also had the S'mores one which was great too! My friend swears by their cookies, she said the Red Velvet one is delish and craves one every now and then. They also serve muffins, sweet bread rolls, soups, chili, and a variety of other foods. My friend had recommended this place to me, and so we went! The baked goods look delicious and they have a nice selection of drinks. A large iced coffee (which is really a medium sized cup) was $4, but it was delicious. It was strong and filled with flavor. The chocolate banana bread was so good, too! I work not too far from this lovely little place and even though I have only been in here about 5 times, there has not been a time that I have been disappointed. Alright so i like black cookies. If i see one i have to try it. Most of the time they put white chocolate chips in them. Nope not this one. Its a s'mores cookie. That white stuff is marshmallow.
