Very disappointed today I was treated unfairly and indifferent I was told to pay for my drink before it was completed while another customer walked in while I was ordering and they started making his immediately I asked why he was not charged before completion and I was told he was a regular. And did not have to. Well I happen to be a regular also maybe not as frequent as him very disappointed great place but don't know if I return with that type of service. Great spot. *Really* quick service-- I put five minutes in the parking meter a block away, went in with a woman ordering in front of me, and by the time I got back to my car, I still had two minutes left on the meter. Very kind, local business owner. My girlfriends and I always come here and I always grab a smoothie before I go snowboarding. I've been coming here for a year and they've never messed up my order. The worker Ashanti was incredibly rude to me and my mother, an elderly woman. Any worker that can be disrespectful, esp. to older ppl doesn't belong in customer service. It was my first visit to the store, my mother had been to the store a few times. The guy making smoothies placed two smoothies down, one of which belonged to us and I quite naturally assumed the other one was from my order as well. Moments later, Ashanti yells "that wasn't your smoothie, next time you need to listen." I couldn't believe her tone and the way she spoke to us. I then asked-- how are you blaming the customer when clearly it's an honest mix up? Then Ashanti became rude and irate, and repeated herself nastily. My mother tried to deescalate the situation and said to her "well how much for the difference" Ashanti said "just leave and get out." The matter became intense and was very upsetting. I had the Power Play Performance Smoothie. I was in and out within 12 minutes. Helpful, fast and friendly service. The smoothie was fresh, well blended and packed with protein. Apparently the only way you'll get what you pay for at this smoothie bar is if you get the largest size. I got a custom 24oz smoothie with one scoop of protein that consist of 25g of protein. That's what I paid for.... The employee lured about 25% of what he made in the blender in my cup and discarded of the rest. Then blamed me for for putting too many ingredients in my smoothie and that's why it didn't fit nor did I get the serving of protein I paid for. The only fruits I added was strawberries and bananas. I also added granola and spinach. Nothing crazy at all. Proper portions should be sold as requested. If you're serious about your health and fitness goals whether it's to lose weight or gain muscle I don't not recommend this unreliable smoothie bar. read more

I've gotten a few smoothies from this place recently and am already a big fan! I work nearby and Big Apple Smoothie has been my go-to recently for a quick lunch or pick-me-up. Prices are moderate - just under $7 for most 24 oz. smoothies and about $9 for most 32 oz. The regular size is perfect for me and lasts awhile! I can usually enjoy the 24 oz. through my entire workday. The Ironman smoothie is awesome - peanut butter, banana, chocolate & froyo. I read the menu wrong my first visit and thought it was regular nonfat yogurt instead of frozen yogurt added. My mistake, thinking maybe it would make a great meal replacement. Although it was so delicious and filling, I quickly realized the Ironman isn't the healthiest choice over a quick salad or sandwich. Recently I tried the Stress Buster - ice, pineapples and strawberries. It was very fresh and fruity (obviously!) but I barely drank half of the 24 oz. smoothie my whole workday. It was just too sweet. The staff are all young and work quickly. Sometimes they are friendly and talk to you but mostly they seem focused on getting you in and out quickly, which is fine by me. They sometimes run out of ingredients, like bananas or yogurt, but they're honest and upfront about it. The staff want to keep things moving, so it's in everyone's best interest to be ready to order quickly. If you're a regular, then you basically memorize your favorite. If you're a newbie or indecisive, you could let others order before you. Big Apple Smoothie is the place I like my kids to hydrate and fuel up before or after swim class at the YMCA across the street. The smoothies are delicious, and the staff are really nice to us.
