Before I get to the bagels, let me just say that the staff at this location are amazing! They are always friendly, upbeat and make great recommendations. We are visiting from Texas and this place came highly recommended. I got a few things, different muffins and bagels. While all really good, the cinnamon sugar bagel with the cheesecake cream cheese was super good!! We will stop back in before we head down south. Also, worth mentioning, I've never seen two coworkers work more efficient together. It's truly a thing of beauty to watch them handle customers and get it done. Great place! For starter the hours dont match online. I got there thinking I had 1 hour until close when I really had 7 mins and 4 diff type of bagels to pick from (I wasnt the only customer either and as I sit here writing this 2 different people walked up to the door that the boy locked 3 mins early - they were VERY worried about closing and were very unpleasant, unlike the friendly morning staff) the girl who took my order and cut my bagel without gloves was then doing my cash transaction while my bagel was cooking and said "oh hold on, my fingers bleeding" as she had to carefully my money to me "without" getting blood on it?! She THEN put gloves on and I was so freaking disgusted in the hygiene process I saw displayed (OR LACK OF) that I asked if she got blood on the bagel she was about to give me and she said no, I cut my hand yesterday and it opened up... I asked for a new bagel and said I'd rather be safe that is gross.. She said nothing. I thanked her when I left (never once unkind just wanted a damn blood free bagel?!) and she said nothing. Positives: bagels are warm, are usually fresh, large variety of cream cheeses, and seem to have something for everyone. Negatives: bagels are gone quickly because of listed positives, the service leaves something to the imagination, they do have special bagels which are never available, and the seating area seems to always be dirty. I can recommend this place to those that have patience but I do not recommend the muffins, just have not had any luck with them. read more

I'd recommend going anywhere else for your bagel/pastry fix and for better quality than this chain location. The service is the worst I've ever dealt with. I've been to this location a number times and bagels have been hit or miss. Sometimes they are decent, sometimes they are stale like they've been sitting for a week. They have huge piles of various cream cheese flavors sitting behind some glass. I would not trust some of the less used flavors as they are sitting there for a very long time. Most of the pastries I've tried have been dry and stale like they've been sitting all week. The coffee wasn't the worst but it just sits in carafes that get refilled periodically and isn't the freshest and can be lukewarm depending on when you fill your cup. As a long time Saginaw resident I've come to this location a number of times and it is the worst Big Apple's I've been to. Unless you are a regular you will be treated like s$%#. The owner is always there, never smiles and is the rudest I've dealt with. She must have a hard time getting people to work for her, because I never see any new faces working there. Make sure you talk very fast and don't fumble or make any mistakes when you order or the owner will lose her patience. We've never had a problem anywhere else, but she literally walked away from us when we were ordering when we were trying to read the tiny writing. She didn't have any patience for an elderly couple that walked in and was a total bi#&* to them. You never know what happens next when they finally make your food. We ordered food and she brought it to our table the first time. Then we went back up to the counter to order another item. This time our food wasn't brought to our table and instead put on top of a random display among a bunch of other random crap. I didn't know they finished our order until one of the regulars mentioned it to me, apparently it's a common thing they just leave your order laying around without even notifying you when it's completed. I will not go back again. Just about anywhere would be a better choice than this, one of our local places such as Levi's, Morning Emporium, Hamilton Bakery, Fuzzy's or even a chain such as Tim Horton's and McDonald's would top this place. read more
