The bagel was soft all around but I would like some crisp crunch to it. The filling was packed tightly to avoid spilling. The staff were helpful and quick. I got a cold brew with almond milk and vanilla syrup- so delicious! The staff recommended it over the lattes (which are normally my favorite) and I am so glad I got the cold brew. Great staff and so nice and helpful. The service was quick and such a cute stop. This is my second time stopping here for the second year in a row. The service is awful, and if you order through DoorDash you won't get the items on your receipt that you paid for. When you call the store you get transferred to a manager named Dawn who is incredibly rude and will not refund you despite being able to prove your items aren't in the sealed bag. We were putting on a orientation for Medical students for a local campus. I had ordered food from a local coffee shop, upon arrival they had nothing started. I called Big Apple Bagels and was able to order a dozen bagels toasted with cream cheese. The worker on the phone was extremely nice, she helped me to figure out a good combination of bagels and cream cheese flavors. Despite being shorthanded and having a large line, the staff was able to prepare the order in a timely manner. I would recommend them and was genuinely impressed. read more

I'm convinced that one of the three stooges is alive and well and running this place. Ordered 2 egg and cheese bagel sandwiches and specifically asked that the bagels be toasted. The clerk looked at me and didn't know that they offered a bagel egg and cheese sandwich. She looked at the board behind her and asked..."Do you mean sausage egg and cheese"? No, I mean egg and cheese. "Oh, yeah, I guess we have that". I sensed there was going to be an issue, so I repeated the order to her twice to make sure she understood and added each time that it needs to be toasted. She said "OK" and I should have looked at it when they handed me the order (take out). It wasn't toasted at all. Bagel was cold and gummy. That's OK if you want cream cheese maybe, but not for a hot egg and cheese. I won't be returning to this place ever. We usually go to the location in Mount Pleasant which is much better, and actually has a toaster! The last time we visited the Midland location was about a year or so ago and the same situation happened then. I thought it was a fluke then and after returning to this location today, I realize it wasn't a fluke. They just don't want to be bothered with getting the order right. We went there for a quick lunch. Trying to be healthier, we both got salads though the muffins and bagels looked really good. The calypso salad was a nice large portion and I really liked the walnuts and orange combination on it. We will be keeping it on our rotation list. read more

I never write reviews but the service was exceptionally bad! I love their bagels and when I'm in town I go out of my way to pick some up. I went in early this morning and no one else was in the store. I ordered $20 worth of bagels and coffee and asked that one of the bagels could be toasted. The clerk looked at me and said we can't do that. I told her that they have done that for me in the past, but she still refused. She told me she could cut the bagels, but not toast them. I use to like coming to this place. Customer service was great. But lately I have been encountering an older lady name Judy (works on register). I felt like with other customers she's friendly and patient. However, every encounter just leaves me feeling annoyed and angry. She's horrible, I am not sure if she is the owner or what but she acts irritated when you ask one or two questions. Her tone is condescending and she looks down on you. I give 2 stars for the taste. I loved this place... until today. BAB has an older yet eager worker ask the line if anyone wants muffins or specialty drinks (to make the wait shorter). Today, I quietly warned a younger worker about a fly that was in the muffin case buzzing around and landing on everything. She thanked me and began to pull the muffins out to get the fly out of the case. The older worker asked the younger what she was doing, and, upon reply, said that the employees "don't have time to catch flies." The older worker continued asking people for their muffin orders, and I quietly told her about the fly as well. She again said to me, "we don't have time to catch flies." Well, considering flies transmit salmonella, food poisoning, dysentery, diarrhea, anthrax, and TB, I will never eat here again. Not only because of the fly and lack of interest in it, but also because this worker cared so little about customer health and responding positively to my concern that I felt stupid for even trying to help.
