Blueberry bagel with honey brown sugar cinnamon spread!
    Amy S.

Big Apple Bagels has been at this location for longer than I can remember which is a testament to how good their bagels are. A lot of businesses in this strip mall don't last a terribly long time, but BABs has been there forever. They have at least 20 different types of bagels every day and at least 10 different spreads to go on them. The combinations are endless. They also have a variety of fresh muffins, and they can make breakfast sandwiches as well. The amount of cream cheese they put on your bagel is EXTREMELY generous, and I've never found myself wishing I had more. The prices are cheaper than most other bagel places in town and their bagels are bigger and softer as well. Big Apple Bagels is a local business that I'm MORE than happy to patronize on a regular basis, and you should too!

    Cream cheese flavors.

I'm not a bagel guy but every once in a while I want a Lox and cream cheese bagel because as young man hanging around Jewish people I got the taste for it. I have driven past this place countless times but I never stopped because I'm not a bagel guy until today when Lox on a bagel was tickling my brain. WOW this place is more than bagels with smoothies, deli sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, ice cream cakes etc. I ordered the Lox and cream cheese and I was asked which bagel so I said an Oreo bagel and the woman looked at me with shock on her face, just kidding I said and the everything bagel. You also choose your cream cheese flavor and I got the onion chive along with tomatoes and raw onions to complete my bagel. For some reason the bagel seemed bigger than the average bagel from other places and looked amazing, see my pictures. WOW the bagel was very tasty with that nice chewy skin and soft dense inside. The onion chive creme cheese was plentiful which just added to the layers of flavors. As a added bonus a cold pickle spear came with the bagel, I love cold pickle spears. I think that this was the best Lox on a bagel I have had in the Milwaukee area so far and it's going the be the bagel store I go to for one when the itch happens.

Holey Guacamole with no real guacamole on the sandwich, even the vegetables, which are touching the "guacamole " have no trace on them.

Ordered the Holey Guacamole...there was only a trace of green smear lightly on the sandwich. Pretty sure that Buddig turkey slices was used too. Napkins are not readily available nor are covers for fountain drinks. Extremely disappointed!

I'm visiting from out-of-state and wanted a nice, toasted, sesame bagel with butter. The employees were borderline surly. Not a single smile between the two of them. Ordering was like talking to a cardboard cutout. I asked for my bagel to be extra toasted, I specified "dark". The bagel I got was very lightly toasted. See the photo. The bagels themselves were just disappointing. Dry and breast, bone of the chewiness you expect from a bagel. They did use a decent amount of cream cheese (thus 2 Stars) but it wasn't enough to redeem the crumbly, Death Valley dryness of their bagel. I do not recommend and I will not be back.

Very friendly service. Bagels here are what one would expect from a chain: serviceable. Big Apple is convenient and expedient.

Coffee is now ubiquitous with daily life in America, which brings me to Qamaria Coffee. Hatem and Munif are two Yemeni entrepreneurs with a passion for Yemeni Coffee and the joint goal of wanting to share it with the world. They founded Qamaria Coffee in 2019 to accomplish this task and in January 2024, they opened a location near Milwaukee in Greenfield, WI. Qamaria offers a variety of dessert options, including a Chocolate Tres Leches, Pistachio Tres Leches, and Caramel Tres Leches cakes. I went with the caramel version, which is described by the cafe as "A decadent caramel treat inspired by tres leches cake, creamy, sweet, and irresistibly smooth". If you've never had Tres Leches Cake, it's a light sponge cake soaked in three types of milk (evaporated, condensed, and whole) that's popular in Latin America. The cake originated in Nicaragua during the 19th century, so on first glance it's not exactly a Yemeni dessert. Doing some research, Middle Eastern variations exist that feature cardamom or rose water and some Qamaria locations do have a Rose Tres Leches. It's fine that the Greenfield location did not have that variety as I honestly would have got the caramel version anyway. My slice was perfectly moist as there was plenty of milk soaked in, but not so much that it made a mess or compromised the structure of the cake. The bottom layer was soft and Tiramisu-like in texture, while the cream on top was rich and thick. Personally, I found the caramel flavor to be mild, but delicious. As it is served chilled, it paired nicely with a hot cup of coffee (which they have a plethora of options to choose from). Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews

I went through the drive through and I noticed that their is no breakfast combos so I ordered a sausage croissant and a med coffee and my total came to $7.11 which surprised me for a small fast food breakfast sandwich. Considering that the average breakfast restaurant has an average price of about $10 for eggs, potatoes, meat and toast I felt that this was expensive when you ponder that you were $3 away from a real full American breakfast that would have been way better. I didn't think that the coffee was all that great was my first thought. The sausage croissant was ok with a tasty sausage patty on a flakey croissant but I didn't think that it was a $7 breakfast at all. I'm probably not going to do breakfast here again because I passed three breakfast places where I could have ordered a full take out breakfast for a few more dollars and I would have been more satisfied with my breakfast.

Don't let the white jackets on the servers fool you, they are relaxed and personable. It's a supper club. They may not have the most extensive menu, but I don't know of anyone who has ever had a issue with what they ordered. Normally, I'm the person who goes out to try something different. JG's is an exception that this rule. I love lamb, especially lamb chops when they are prepared properly. I have always been satisfied with the lamb chops. Simply the best. Tonight we came with another couple, who were celebrating a birthday. They are members of JGs loyalty club. At our table, they had left a handwritten card with birthday greeting. They were also entitled to a discount. We have had this server before, and have always impressed with the professionalism, and helpfulness. After ordering a round of drinks, with a couple of excellent old fashioned, we were ready to place our food order. Of course I got the Lamb Chops, and the others ordered, Chicken Piccata, Steak Diane, and Bacon Wrapped Scallops. While we waited, there was bread and small tray of crackers and spreads (I do wish they served an actual relish tray). Didn't take that long for the food. It was all hot, flavorful and good portions. My Lamb Chops were a perfect medium rare. The sides were also sufficiently hot, which was an improvement over our last visit. All the other entrees were excellent. And everyone had some leftovers to take home. For dessert the birthday boy got a free Schaum Torte. We added to that with a Brandy Alexander, which was hand mixed and not overblended. And a Creme Brulee, freshly torted so that caramel with dry and brittle, not soft and tacky. A great way to end a superb meal. Definitely a place that we look forward to returning too!
