6 bagels from TGTG surprise bag. 3 sourdough, one garlic and 2 jalapeño cheddar.
Renee G.

Instead of fixing the problem with the product, you choose to stop participating in a great program. Lowered to one star. If I could remove the left over star, I certainly would. What a horrible, infantile, condescending response on very constructive criticism for your product. You saw the pictures and video right? The product is the problem. No bagel should look, feel or taste like that sourdough bagel. And the other bad reviews are not from TGTG. So your top notch, fresh product is also on the struggle bus. Someone else's review for the BLAT with the grey/black/brown avocado. So appalling. Who would prepare that, see the "avocado" and still make the decision to use it and SELL it to a customer. Yikes! Sir, you keep blaming things on your staff. You are responsible. You need to own the issues and have some serious quality control improvements. Where's Jon Taffer when you need him. Oh by the way, there were 2 tiny flying insects in the tray on the jalapeño cheddar bagels. Almost looked like gnats. Might need to check pest control too.

I was craving a bagel with cream cheese and this place hit the spot. Since it was my first time going, and there are so many options, the cashier was so courteous in helping me choose. In the end, I picked a bacon cheddar bagel, toasted, with jalapeño cream cheese. It was sooooooo good! It was nice and toasted, and the jalapeño cream cheese was actually spicy. It paired well with the bacon and cheddar. I will be coming back to try more bagels.

Good bagels [Folsom CA] The bagels are made fresh daily from scratch in-house and they are huge! Yum! So fresh and delicious. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. My family loves them. They look like bagels without the holes. I also purchased a tub of their onion and chives shmear. But Big Apple Bagels isn't just about bagels, they also offer a wide variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches served on your choice of fresh baked bagel (or bread) with a dill pickle spear, and they also have muffins, pastries and coffee. This place is a cozy and comfortable bakery café and deli with plenty of table seating inside. Located in the Commonwealth Square Raley's shopping center. Plenty of parking. Check them out ツ Review #3651

Love the variety they have here ! Looking for a quick bite for breakfast or lunch ? Big apple bagels has got you covered ! We walked in around breakfast time looking for a quick bite and Scott was there walking us through all their offerings . He was very friendly and informative ! Looking for something snack sized ? They have cute little mini muffins ! I really enjoyed the savory jalapeño bagel and would definitely come back !

Last month on a lazy Sunday, I popped on in. It was 12:30 pm. Right at the door threshold, I stopped in my tracks. I did so because all the chairs were stacked on the tables. I thought they might he closing. But the sign had a 2pm closing time. So I continued to venture on in. Glad I did. The bagels are fantastic with good price points. The staff was cleaning up but stopped to assist us. There were some muffins and bagels left. Understandably the selection was limited due to the time of day. The menu consist of bagels, bagel sandwiches, muffins (mini and jumbo sizes), and coffee drinks. I ordered a salt pretzel, well I thinks that the name. The pretzel had coarse rock salt baked on the top. The bottom had a cornmeal type crust. The bagel had a deep dense chew to it... excellent. I ordered it toasted with cream cheese. Yum. The bagel and spread was $4.25. I think the jumbo muffins were the same price. Mini Muffins were $1 which is not bad at all as with all of their price points.

Just Veggies Omelet on an onion bagel and everything bagel with scallion cream cheese

I decided to spend the morning in Folsom with a friend and we were in the mood for bagels, found this hidden gem on Yelp through a quick search and glad we stopped by! The service was great and we didn't have to wait long for our bagels to come out. I got an everything bagel with scallion cheese and my friend got the veggies breakfast bagel sandwich. We both enjoyed what we got but I wish I had mentioned light cream cheese for my bagel. If you love a good portion of cream cheese this is the spot for you because they do not skimp on it! I also really liked how clean it was on the inside and that there was plenty of parking. If I'm in the area again and craving a bagel, I will definitely come back to Big Apple!

Turkey club no cheese on a hallowed out whole wheat bagel. Yum! A+++

The bagels are so fresh and perfectly baked. I am allergic to dairy so I haven't tried their cream cheese options but they look great especially the veggie. The chocolate chocolate chip muffin is dairy free and SO GOOD! It is a little crumbly so not great to eat in the car but fantastic nonetheless. The staff is so kind and courteous accommodating food allergies. Turkey club on a hallowed out whole wheat bagel with no cheese, is A+++. If you need catering or platters for an event, holiday, or meeting I highly suggest the muffin or bagel platters. The fruit platters are packed full of fresh cut fruit and a great value for a healthy option without the effort and mess of prepping the fruit yourself. Big Apple Bagels has spoiled us for any other bagels. It is Big Apple Bagels or no bagels for our family!

"Garlic" bagel (lacking garlic flavor)
Dan W.

I think this is between a 2 and a 3, but because of a disappointment, I am leaning toward a two. I mean, the staff seems friendly enough, and it was relaxed in here, but I probably won't be back anytime soon. I drove all the way from Pocket-Greenhven area, to have a nice, Saturday morning breakfast. The website advertises freshly made scrambled eggs, and the pictures online look amazing. I hate microwaved eggs, as most bagel restaurants do, so I was hopeful. Well.....false advertising....ish. I came in after a 25 minute drive to get a big sandwich. I asked if the eggs were scrambled and cooked fresh, and to my dismay, nope.....microwaved. So, just a regular garlic bagel with extra cream cheese. I didn't taste any garlic flavor. I love garlic bagels, but Dracula himself would have been able to eat this breakfast and had no complaints. The chocolate chip muffin was good. Bagel and cream cheese, muffin, and a soda was almost $12. When you factor in the drive, how much everything cost, and the lack of flavor, I would say this is a good neighborhood spot if you're down the street, but definitely not worth the drive (or price).

The Muffins...... My first time trying B.A.B definitely will return here!!!!! Staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks Gabby!!!

This is a very professionally run restaurant with an attentive staff which is refreshing to see in a business today. A Great Breakfast Stop After a Hike in Auburn! We came here…read morefor breakfast during the week after a hike in Auburn. We had just finished the Lake Clementine/Dam hike and were very hungry afterward, so we headed into town and ended up at Mario's. First of all, Mario's is a very pretty space. I loved the black-and-white aesthetic and the simple but thoughtful décor. There's bar seating, booths, and tables both inside and outside. Parking is plentiful, so that's definitely not an issue. I started with a regular latte, while my cousin ordered a chai latte. My latte was beautiful and served in a very original, deep, low cup that I absolutely loved. It was delicious and just perfect. Unfortunately, the chai latte wasn't really to our liking. It didn't taste much like chai to us--it had a strong cinnamon flavor and a combination of flavors that made it difficult to tell exactly what we were drinking. So, the chai was definitely not our favorite. For breakfast, I ordered what I would call their breakfast sampler, with eggs, bacon, and hash browns, which also came with a portion of French toast. My cousin ordered their Monte Cristo sandwich. My eggs and hash browns were amazing, and there was plenty of bacon! I chose all bacon, and it was thick-cut, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The plates here are HUGE, and the portions are definitely abundant. My cousin's Monte Cristo was their lighter take on the classic. Instead of being deep-fried, their version is dipped in batter and cooked, which makes it a little less heavy. It looked beautiful and had plenty of ingredients inside, but for us, it was just okay. We've definitely had better Monte Cristo sandwiches. Now, the French toast... WOW. This was easily my favorite part of the meal. The bread had this delicious cinnamon-sugar coating on top that took it to another level. Add the soft, fluffy butter and maple syrup, and it was absolutely superb. That French toast alone would bring me back! I also appreciated the nice, cold ice water that was kept at our table throughout the meal. Service was super nice and pretty quick, especially considering how busy they were. I also loved how many options they give you to customize your meal. I could choose between different types of bacon, sausage, or turkey, and my cousin was able to customize her sandwich and ended up choosing cottage cheese to go with a healthier, higher-protein option. They also have sweet potato fries, regular fries, and plenty of other sides that you can substitute depending on what you're looking for. The ambiance was great, everything was clean and well maintained, and even the bathrooms were in good condition. Overall, this was a very good breakfast experience. Not everything was a home run for us, but the service, atmosphere, generous portions, customization options, and especially that French toast made it a place I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. And after a hike? Even better!

When I asked to substitute chicken for pork hot links, I was told substitutions were not allowed and that getting chicken would cost an additional $10--roughly half the price of an average meal on the menu. That felt excessive for a simple request. Our hot drinks arrived lukewarm. When we mentioned it, we were told that was the temperature the machine produces, which did little to address the concern. There was also some drink spilled down the outside of a cup to covering bottom of saucer when it was served. It's a small detail, but wiping the cup before serving it or simply providing napkins would have helped. This was early afternoon, and the restaurant appeared less than 20% full, so the lack of attention was especially disappointing. The setting is lovely, but more attentive service and a more accommodating approach would make the experience much better.

We were seated for dinner pretty quickly. The only problem I had was deciding what to order. The luau shrimp salad? Meatball sub? I finally decided on the lobster mac and cheese. While the portion wasn't large, it was delicious! Creamy and mild with fresh lobster (not fishy) and garlicy breadcrumbs. My husband got the ribeye and was thin but large with great seasoning and veggies. I'm not a big steak fan but I really liked it. We ended up grabbing some beignets to go for the kids, which were really tasty and came with 3 dipping sauces (our favorite was the Berry, although we ended up eating most of them without sauce). The atmosphere was upscale, but very casual, quiet and fun. We saw families with young children, couples on dates, and friends enjoying a meal together. The service was fantastic from start to finish. We had the chance to chat with Julian himself along with a couple other staff members, and everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The stars of the meal were definitely the breakfast wrap and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant. The breakfast wrap had the perfect balance of scrambled eggs, bacon, seasoned potatoes, avocado, and cheddar cheese. Everything worked together without any one ingredient overpowering the others, and the salsa on the side was a great addition. Honestly, it's one of the best breakfast burritos/wraps I've had. And the croissant... wow. It was absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the croissant was light, flaky, and buttery, and every bite was packed with flavor. The Nutella crepe was also very good. The crepe itself was perfectly made, though there was a little more Nutella than I personally prefer. Next time I'll probably ask for less, but that's purely a matter of taste. The avocado toast was the only item that didn't quite hit the mark for me. It was good, but the honey flavor dominated the dish and drowned out some of the other ingredients. I'd love to taste a little more balance there. We also spoke with Bailey, was lovely and apparently took the fall on Julian's behalf. I'd also like to note we ordered a cake here last year and visit Julian's restaurant in Folsom about 2x a month so, as I said I'm extremely disappointed. We ordered a cake for my son's birthday. Wanted a jungle theme. I could've gotten past the ugly (and not what we ordered) decorations had the cake not been cracked in multiple places on the bottom tier. I called, let them know it was cracked and they had me talk to the owner, Julian, who went on to blame us, saying this happened during transport. (It didn't, the cake was frozen. You can also see the terrible job icing it at the top proving it was frozen, and that the cake didn't shift in transport as there was no icing or anything on the cake board.) He argued with me, he was exceptionally rude and tried to put the blame on me. Eventually, he agreed to refund me 50% for the cake. When we cut into it, not only was it frozen, (the same tier that was cracked) but it was also not even the correct filling or cake. I'm not sure what happened, but I called to demand a full refund as this cake was not what I ordered, and the arrogant, rude, owner Julian insulted me, saying I was trying to con a small business. Bailey, who was extremely professional and polite, called back to confirm that wasn't what we ordered and to offer us a full refund. Julian is rude, disrespectful and didn't provide what I ordered. When he was called out he insulted me, insulted my intelligence (by telling me the cake wasn't frozen--when it was, as well as tell me I tried to con a small business.) as people who were extremely loyal to his business, I'm disgusted and disappointed and will not be returning. I'd also encourage you to beware of spending your money here, because you may not get what you order, you may but it's a full risk you will have to take. I also refuse to support rude or mean people. Best of luck if you gamble and order here. I wouldn't have nearly been as mad, nor taken the time to write this review had he not been such a jerk. I'll let you make your own assumptions, based on the emails between us and the company, and what we received. Good luck if you choose to order from them!
