This place is overpriced in all regards - arcade, bowling, and food/drinks. Might as well go to Dave and Busters or Bowlero instead.

This place is really fun. So much to do. Pull tables, games, bowling, darts, drinking and eating. I'm give a 3 just because a few things to know. If you have a large party the appetizer foods are not good. Nachos are always overcooked, the onion rings were burnt, the chicken dried. The lettuce wraps and sandwiches were good. Kids arcade room really expensive for the games. $2-5. The ticket redemption for the kids is not a good selection. Most of the cheaper stuff is all cheap candy. For the price we paid for games wish it was better choices. read more

This place is so cool. I really like the ambience, the space is very open with many screens. There's lots of games, not only arcade but also corn hole, shuffle board, darts, pool, ping pong, bowling, etc. Lots of tables to sit at too. There's a nice area with a fireplace outside too. Big Als is a really fun place to hang out but their service and food is alot worse than I expected it to be. Just getting a server to your table is even an issue here for some reason. I ordered a salad and a Philly cheesesteak and there was some rotten leaves in my salad. We asked for water for us and our kids and the server never even brought it out. Then to top it all off I tried to order desert to go and the server refused to give us our ice cream to go because ' it's not recommended '. I told him to put it in a cup and he started to argue with me about it. Eventually they did it but this was pretty annoying. read more

Someone told me Big Al's was like Dave and Busters, but I didn't really know what to expect. The building is really big and there's so much space inside. They section off parts of the restaurant for different purposes. There's an area where you can dine in and watch games on the multiple large screens. There's an arcade and game area, which includes Jenga, Connect 4 and corn hole. There is an outdoor area and bar as well. This place gets crowded, especially if you are trying to dine in on game nights. Parking gets crowded as well. read more

So I went here for my nephew's birthday party. It's kid friendly because they have this ramp where you can put the 6 pound bowling ball on and the. The kid can push the ball down the ramp and you can put up the side bumpers so this helps the kid knock the pins down. The pizza and nachos are good. I liked the pizza as it was warm, flavorful and savory. There's also an arcade and bar inside this place. The arcade is quite big and you can gather credits to win prizes after. There's also a virtual reality game that the kids liked to play but it is pricey if you have multiple kids playing especially more than once. read more

First time booking a party here. Like anywhere else 12 people min to reserve 2 hrs 2 bowling lanes with bowling shoes. Unlimited sodas and 3 large pizza of your choice. Other foods are optional depending on your package. So the day has come celebrating 2 birthdays. Front end always welcome us in with their friendly smiles. They have signs out Happy Birthday with my kids names , but they spelled my son's name wrong. It clearly shows on the deposit receipt which they have the original copy of. There wasn't no balloons. Food came in time. My host was excellent made sure we were ok on drinks, food, and got what we need. Chicken Teriyaki skewers and Sante Fe Chicken eggs rolls are good , but ordered just Spring rolls. Cheese Stuff meatballs were spicy and not stuffed with cheese at all. Only got 12 small pcs for $27, supposed to be twelve orders. I can buy 3 bags of meatballs at Walmart everyone would like. At the end receipt shows charged extra $30 for drinks I thought supposed to be unlimited and $60 retail for the extra water bottle bowling pin which doesn't even close right. Kids had a good time. It wasnt enough time for 2 full games. Would I book another party and suggest this to future events to people probably not. My guests which who are hotel managers and directors agrees. They should get things right the first time and everything was confirm at the time of putting a deposit. Once you book your party and put a deposit. You cant modify the day/ time and get your deposit back, so Big Al's dont accommodate you in anyway even though your Big Al's MVP member. I had 3 stars, but one of my kids down graded to 2. Big Al's is a new arcade/ sports bar/ bowling alley/ restaurant one stop in Milpitas. It's located at McCarthy Ranch, took over the what use to be the Borders I believe. From the outside, it looked sizable but I was shocked how big it was on the inside. They have a restaurant area that shows big TVs so groups can watch the big games. They also have a bowling alley and and arcade. They have another 21+ room with a separate bar with games like pool and ping pong. The outside patio area also has plenty of heating lamps. I came here with my friends on a Saturday night to check out the arcade. Their arcade had a good selection but definitely smaller than Dave and Busters or Round One. I liked their ticket exchange options weren't crazy unreasonable though. I usually just get some candy and hoard up my tickets for a big thing. But new cool hang out spot for you and your group of friends! read more

We went here as a end of the school year hang out at 1:30 as a group of 15. Our server Juan was atrocious. He was not responsive to us and was a little rude. Being a bigger group, we would expect him to be a little more attentive since we would have given him a larger tip. After the order was taken, most of us received our food around 45 minutes and some of us received it later. When we wanted to grab more drinks or refills, we had a hard time finding him or getting his attention. Most of us had to walk to the bar to grab our own drinks. When paying, we realized he got the tab wrong multiple times ether giving us the wrong amount or giving us other people's orders, some from different tables. At the end, we didn't even know he clocked out and left the mess for the other waitress to clean up. It was some pretty shady shit. We felt bad for her so we tipped her more. At the end of the day, my colleagues and I were pretty frustrated with the service we received. We generally like spending time as a group together and are always looking for places to spend time with each other but unfortunately due to this experience, we will not have anymore staff gatherings at this establishment. read more

Came in for lunch after church. This place is huge! There's a bowling alley to the right add you walk in. You can rent all the lanes for a birthday party. I thought that was cool. We went to the restaurant in back with all the huge tv screens so we can watch the football games. Service was a little slow, they were about 70% full, so I think there's room for improvement. Lots of choices on the menu, but the one item I ordered was no longer available. Boo. I ended up just getting a baked potatoe, we also ordered the rib stack & taters and Philly cheese steak and fries. All the food was good. Price is average. Service definitely could be better. We decided to try Big Al's after learning about it and we were so excited to have a family day here - lunch, games, bowling... What a disappointment it turned out to be. We decided to eat first and after waiting for about 10 minutes, a server took our drink & appetizer order. They have coke floats! I was so excited. She came back about 30 minutes later and took our food order but still no appetizer.... Finally after about an hour, we got the nachos my daughter ordered and they were cold (still no appetizer though) so we asked for a manager and told her we wanted to cancel our order because the hour wait was ridiculous. She agreed and admitted that she "didn't know what was going on with the kitchen" and "hope you come back" Ummmm I don't know about that. I asked about bowling and they had no price sheet. The employee spouted off a bunch of pricing before and after 5 as well as M-Th .vs weekend. What I took away was $20 a person but is that an hour or game which for a family of 4 is about a game and a half in an hour. Expensive really. We didn't even play games because after everything else, we were wasting money there. I really hope that our experience is a fluke but if not, good luck to that place. read more

Probably would have given them 1 star, but they are new so I'm trying to be nice. The place wasn't very packed, but it took them 30+ minutes to bring our food after we ordered. I got The Duke 12oz steak. It was burned & a little on the tough side. It's supposed to come with potatoes au gratin & mixed vegetables. I didn't get my vegetables and had to ask for them. When I got them, they were literally cold mixed vegetables: jicama, carrots, green onion, red onion, red bell pepper, & roasted chick peas. I guess a cross between a salad and cole slaw without any dressing or seasoning. All I could taste was the large pieces of green onion. The drinks were mediocre $12 drinks with watered down alcohol. We took our kids to the arcade and got candy with the tickets they won. They literally had to ring up each piece of candy. My kid was a little short on tix and wanted this particular piece of candy. They told her she was too short and couldn't have it. Ok fine. But Chuck E. Cheese & Dave and Buster's usually just round up. If there was a long line of people, we would have been there forever waiting for him to ring up the individual pieces of candy. Fun atmosphere. I probably won't eat there again. But may come back to watch a game and hang out. read more

He is in the wrong field, I witnessed him being horrible to another party, and then came to help us with the same attitude. He worked the virtual reality game. My experience at Big Al's was ok at the restaurant area, Jordan as a hostess was sweet and helpful, our waitress was also a sweet gal and attentive. The game area wasn't so good. After Kevin was horrible to myself and another party, he walked into the prize room and talked badly about the customers calling them idiots to two other male employees. We went back to our favorite place for appetizers and beer and we were severely disappointed. Service was hit and miss before but understandable because they were always busy. We went tonight and the place had only a few tables occupied but no service whatsoever. The worst thing is you order and pay and have to tip before anyone comes around. TL;DR: Huge meat portions, good flavoring, teensy little baby french fries not so useful though. Would recommend. I ordered the cheeseburger via DoorDash. Now, Im a burger fan. I hate when places advertise "The giant burger yadda yadda", because they inevitably turn out to be liars once you get the burger. I admit I was fully prepared for the obligatory Clara Peller moment at Big Al's, so I ordered an extra patty just to *ahem* beef up the portion size. Boy was I in for a surprise. This thing was massive. There literally wasn't room under the bun for second patty, which had slid about halfway out. While attempting to eat this...this...Godzilla of hamburgers, I swear I felt like Piper on that couch must have felt, trying to fit this titanic cheddar and meat stack in my mouth. The delicious cooked ground-up cow was perfectly done, crispy on the outside, chewy pink and red on the inside. There was an unexpected chili flavor in the beef and dressing, which while very noticeable was not bad. The only problem I had outside of my lack of unhinge-able snake jaw was the fries. Little teeny shoestring fries are not my jam. Well salted and flavored, the fries nevertheless didn't have enough mass to provide a useful counterpoint to the meat unless I ate 15 or 20 at once. I am a large hairy bearded man, and require a large hairy bearded fry to really make it worthwhile. I look forward to trying out other dishes from this place. Especially in this era of tiny steaks, mini burgers, and small soups. So far I can totally recommend Big Al's as a place to order a single meal that you can share with the girlfriend and still have enough to send you groaning to the couch to unbuckle your belt and digest in peace. :) read more

My wife and I visited Big Al's for game of of the NBA Finals. When you first enter, there are a couple of bowling lanes on the right. Directly in front of you will be a bar with huge flat screen tv's wrapped all around. It was very easy to view the screens no matter where you stood or sat. Big Al's is a very spacious venue. In the back left is a larger bar with a couple more larger tv screens. We haven't had a chance to play any of the arcade games or bowl, but hopefully in the future, we'll be able to visit Big Al's again soon. read more

This place was actually pretty cool. Went there on a week day night so it wasn't packed. Not as many arcade games like DnB but it was cleaner and not as packed. They have some pretty cool games too. Played this giant scrabble and this VR shooting game. Games were a little more expensive than what I've seen other places would probably be the only thing that had me think. They serve shots at 1.5 oz so more for your dollars as well. I'll have to go back to try bowling and and pool. The pool tables were taken when I arrived so didn't get that chance. Came here opening week to celebrate my daughter's 2nd birthday. The place is super kid friendly, they have a lot of activities - jumbo jenga, jumbo scrabble, shuffle board, etc - in the eating area. My daughter enjoyed the bowling and fish bowl games in the arcade as well. We came for happy hour and enjoyed the lettuce wraps and steak bites. The staff was super friendly - especially our server, Aubree! We were even greeted by managers passing by. The food quality is much better than most arcade/bars. After trying to see a game at Dave & Busters, I didn't set my hopes too high for this place. I WAS WRONG! The food arrived promptly even though it was packed on a Thursday night. The waitress was friendly, efficient and checked in often. If I got up, someone in different areas would ask if I needed anything, or said Hi, at least acknowledged me. The game could be heard and there was no LOUD BLASTING music. You could have a conversation with the people at the table while watching the game. It was perfect. We've been here 3 times and enjoy our time here. The staff's friendly and the food is delicious. Huge fan of the Southwest crispy chicken salad and the their calzones are mighty hearty. Oh and don't miss out on their shakes those were amazing! (The Birthday cake one with sprinkles we recommend) haven't bowled yet or tried the Board room (on our things to do list), but the arcade has a great variety of games. 5 stars because I had the best service from the time I walked in until I left. The place was clean, happy friendly staff, good food. (and I hope it stays this way!) Of course I didn't attempt to go on opening day, figured it would be mayhem and understandably so. Went for lunch on a Tuesday, met up with my cousin who was already seated. Walked in and had no idea what I was walking into. The host up front was very friendly and walked me to the dining area. Our server was amazing. While waiting for our food I was having a sugar low (I'm diabetic). Our server checked in on us often enough so when she came by I asked when the food would come out and explained I was having a sugar low. She offered right away to bring out a cake or sugary drink and I asked for a just little apple juice. She brought it out to me and explained her grandfather was diabetic so she knew how to help me. First timer here! Came to watch the Warriors game and have a few drinks. The tables at the bar area in the main lobby as well as the larger one off to the side with the games, were all wobbly. I wouldn't say the place was packed but the kitchen was backed up. Even though you can order using the QR code, we weren't greeted when we sat ourselves nor did anyone bring us utensils and when we asked for them, the waiter pointed to where we could grab it ourselves in the kitchen while he walked to the bar. This establishment was obut I was not impressed at all with the service or lack of. We ordered pizza which was good and some wings. I asked for all flats and they gave us the opposite. Top notch experience on Sunday September First. Warmly greeted at the front by Melissa, and personally walked to our bowling lane in the Lounge. Note - the fact that Melissa accompanied us is something to which I have become accustomed when staying at The Four Seasons. Melissa set the stage for a wonderful afternoon. Reina J checked on us immediately to take our drink and food orders. The house sparking wine (generous pours) were paired nicely with the mozzarella sticks and mac and cheese bites. The food was brought out to us quickly; and Reina continued to ask if we needed additional food and drinks during our hour of bowling. Emily, who must be the General Manager, checked on me to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. This part is what is missing at so many California establishments, and a big reason why Big Al's stands apart. After an hour of bowling, while our daughter entered the arcade, Melissa again walked me and my beautiful wife to the Boardroom, where we were immediately and warmly greeted by Jonathan. Jonathan set us up with beers and explained the layout of the area. I noticed there was a football game showing on the television in the restaurant. After walking over to see who was playing, Alex (the hostess) asked how she might help. She quickly made sure to get the game on in the Boardroom. A+ for Alex. She could have easily sent me back to where I was sitting, but she took the time to help. JB, at the front desk set our daughter up with an MVP card. He patiently explained how the card works. I've already been letting others know of our wonderful experience at Big Al's. Now, lest you think I'm a Milpitas yokel, oh honey no - I only stay at the finest hotels and dine at Michelin-starred restaurants. We came here for my wife's birthday. It's new so we decided we needed to check it out. It has kind of a Dave & Buster's feel with an ESPN zone flavor. Big screen dining room would be a great place to watch the game. Plenty of entertainment for anyone else who doesn't want to watch the game. The shining Star of our visit was our server Karla.
