I purchased cleats for my daughter less than 30 days ago, and both shoes came unglued after only a few practices. When I visited the store, an employee named Matthew told me they would exchange them or offer store credit. After I returned with the cleats,Saray the manager refused to honor what their employee promised, claiming the shoes were "used"--even though the defect only became visible through normal use. Cody and Chris are the most incompetent individuals I've met. Beyond being rude, we were told our refund couldn't be processed without a receipt because Cody stated he did not have the staffing to go back in the office and check the system. My husband located the receipt and went back inside. At that point another staff by the name of Chris came out and interjected himself into a conversation when he was not present when we initially came in. Cody then continued to talk to my husband in a very disrespectful and condescending way stating he never said he did not have the staffing. We were literally the only customers in the store. Not to mention I am a legal handicap individual (the security cameras will show I was parked in handicap). Additionally my husband recently worked for Big 5 as a manager. People should not come to work if they don't want to do their job. I will spend whatever amount I have to go to another store and never give them a dime. Horrrrrible service.... everything i asked for the employees acted as if i was bothering them... the two two women that worked there had the worse attitudes everrrr lol. I tried to cheer them up with humor... nope. More attitude. I spent like $600, and they took like 5 minutes just checking my money to see if it was real ... it was embarrassing. Its not 1 of the larger big 5 stores. It is small in comparison to other larger sports stores. For the most part it has what I'm looking for a descent price. I was looking for shoes today at compared to other shoe stores they have really good prices here especially when they have shoes on clearance . It wasn't too busy today so the sales associate was more than helpful to help me out find the right size shoe and was very courteous to me as well. Today the weather was a 102 degrees I walked in the store and felt very cool as soon as i stepped inside and I didn't want to leave because I knew I was going back out into that hot weather. The store was very well organized and if there was something that I couldn't find a sales associate was more than happy to point me to the right direction. I've been to other big 5 stores and not all locations have clearance racks this is definitely one of the big 5s that I like coming to. Came in to buy my little guy a nice pair of kicks for a good price (seen them on their weekly add). As we came in, we were greeted. We worked our way back to the shoe area, we waited about 7 minutes untill I walked to the front for assistance. When we were finally helped, they didn't have the shoes in his size. Felt like I wasted my time, so I bought a youth football that the little guy needs for this season. Not sure if I'll be coming back, unless the deals are good enough or perhaps I'll ask for assistance as soon as I walk in. Their prices are fair, sometimes offering great deals. Went to the store on Friday to purchase gloves and snow gear for our family, the cashier Sindy was so distracted that she double charge us some items. Even to the point she did two separate transactions. So as I walk out of the store I reviewed my receipt and notice it, so I went back and they supposedly credit my account back. Which will take 3 days. Then we head to the snow and we get there to realize she forgot to put in our bags my son's gloves. When we return at night I called the store and speak to Ryan the "manager" he told me he was too busy to look into it, then returned my call 2 hrs later to tell me they did put the gloves in the bad. I ask him if I can see the video because we purchase 3 pairs, and he said is against their policies. So Im supposed to believe him. He said we probably drop them, like really! We park right in front of their store and if they were place in the bag only way to drop them is if the bag had a hole. Ryan and his team are double charging at this store. I sincerely hope their corporate office sends someone out to help this store get in order. It's always a mess. They have a great sales prevention staff. Every time I have been in this store it has taken me about 30min to get anybody to help me out. After purchasing a rifle, I arrive to pick it up around 8:00pm. I stand at the counter for 30 minutes waiting for somebody to help me. When they finally do, I am told that they don't release guns after 8:00 because the manager can't afford to take herself off the sales floor, as if big 5 is swarming with people after 8:00 on a Wednesday. Why can't those two associates that are Bullshitting over in the shoe department help you out with the two customers in the checkout line. I've never felt so disrespected in this store. Came in with my family to see what good deals they had. We went to go see the knifes because we're going fishing soon and the guy helping us, Ryan, was so rude. He looks like he hates his job. We asked to see one of the knifes being displayed and after asking twice about a price he replies with "That's what I said" as he rolled his eyes. Isn't that his job ?! Not too long after my dad asked if the knife comes with a carrying case and if he can take a look at it. Ryan then later replies with "Didn't you just see me pull It out?" VERY rude. So what if you already pulled it out. We want to see it AGAIN and that should NOT be a problem. After all, we're trying to purchase something. Later I ask an associate who the manager is because I wanted to put in a complaint and it turns out ITS RYAN. Horrible management. Who chose this guy? Hope no one has to experience this. read more

I went to buy a bat backpack and they were on sale for 34.99 reg price 39.99 I checked out n almost walked out the store when I realized on my receipt I was charged 39.99 I showed the rep the ad In the paper that clearly says Louisville bat backpacks 34.99 he said oh that's not the one you bought. I said they look exactly the same except the color. He turns his head and says They look completely different anyone could see that. Very friendly and helpful. I came in the return a tire patch kit. It did not work so I have to purchase a new tube. Manager helped me right away. Picked the size tube I needed and an associate rang me up. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Have been to this location before and was assisted then too. So far very good customer service here. 9/23/17: Went in to buy an item, did a quick coupon search and went to pay. The female cashier at front (granted she works in retail but she looked like she was hating life. She was even having a conversation with the female manager where I made out something along the lines of "you think I like being here") She greeted without making eye contact or even looking in my direction. Which, honestly doesn't bother me but just an FYI note on customer service quality, what bothered me is when I showed my coupon she gave some excuse of needing to see the entire coupon. The expiration date was showing and had a barcode with the exceptions underneath and still said she need to see the entire thing... All she had to do, to make her miserable time go by quicker and not converse or deal with me, was scan the barcode and let the computer see if the coupon was going to work or not. Instead she decided to give me a miserable excuse, with a miserable attitude. All they did was remind me why I shop online instead, so thanks for not taking my money and turning me off from big 5 permanently. Very disappointed in the condition of the48 Mauser I got. All the wood is in bad shape. It was in the box so I didn't get a good look at everything , make sure when your buying old firearms it lives up to your standards. The lady selling me the rifle should have pointed this out to me. Not just get excited she made a sale. Take the gun out and look at it. As a firearms dealer I feel she should have point d the nicks and scratches out, I'll never buy there again read more

Went in for baseball gear after bringing my items up to front counter for check out immediately saw that the price wasn't the same as the sign posted when asked if they would change after immediately received attitude back she said "after what?" I said I don't know after you hit the total button the discount button, I explained that those weren't the prices advertised she wanted to argue with me about who placed them there and she said customers place things in the wrong place all the time? Customers placed a whole rack of pants in the wrong spot she said yes! I spoke with the "manager" who came out and proceeded to tell me the exact same thing. Which I told him I don't think she called you out to argue with me. Long story short I was to upset to stay and pay my husband stayed behind to pay which they charged him for an item I asked them to take out because it didn't come up the price posted (it was multiple items that were in the wrong place apparently) the receipt said Andrea but she was wearing a name tag that said devin which ever one I don't recommend this place to much attitude and personal conversations going on. So i took my items to the SB big 5 where I received the most amazing service from LISA she apologized on their behalf which she didn't have to and Lisa took care of the whole thing.
