I've been going here for a few months now. Needed a manicure before a client meeting one day and even tho I usually do one like once a month or once every two months I didn't have the time to fix chipped nail polish so I ran over here during my lunch hour. Service here is impeccable. They are thoughtful, kind, the ambiance and feel of this place is amazingly peaceful and it's super duper clean. All the things you need in a spa. They've even got some sort of sound proofing thing going on because whenever I've come here there hasn't been traffic noise - it's truly a peaceful oasis in an otherwise frantically crowded neighborhood. That being said, I've now come here a few times. My manicure have always been ooookaaaaaay. But I return because it's a wonderful experience. You lie down, there are comfy pillows, almost an eerie silence with very calming music playing overhead and it always smells lovely. It's a great way to spend a lunch hour and kind of recharge your batteries after a rough morning. This past visit (probably like my 5th or 6th - I don't always remember to check in) my manicure really wasn't okay. It was bad. I hate having to do things like ask for the nail file and file my own nail after someone makes it significantly shorter and files it into a crooked square shape...when I try to keep my nails a nice medium length (rather than short :-/) and I was clear about wanting a more rounded square. I had to fix a few after I was done...I also had to ask for my (very attentive) nail tech to paint the sides where she would miss a lot of my nail...having to fix some left some nails darker than others. She also did one coat of the deep blood red polish I chose and then a top coat. Any polish, especially darker colors require a minimum of 2 coats. This is pretty common nail polish knowledge. She was so nice and I was nice about it but after paying and getting to my office I was pretty horrified at how my nails looked. They were all really weird. Lots of marks, lots of unnecessary thickness, some air bubbles - I was pretty upset. There's also usually a brief complimentary back rub done afterwards which is a really nice treat and something I got used to the previous times I've come here which makes the experience worth coming back for considering every mani I've had here has been ooookay. Yesterday's was not okay. There are photos. Today I've got two nail polishes where the polish has chipped from just typing at work...my normal Astoria spot manicures generally last me 3 weeks. I'll probably return sometime for a couples massage or something as I mentioned my fondness for this place to my husband, but I don't know if I'd come back for another manicure. I don't do my nails that often and I need consistency...plus it hurts to spend money on something that's meant to treat myself and the final result is something I could have done to myself 100% better. I felt like I had to kind of hide my hands during my client meeting. Again, I've had good experiences here and not let frustrated so 3 stars for A okay. Ooookaaaay. read more

Good customer service is a must! After my initial experience and post I was immediately contacted by the Bienfait team to return to the spa to correct my concerns. The entire team went ABOVE and BEYOND to make my second experience pristine! They were apologetic and accommodating. I truly understand that things happen and my skin did not agree with something, but their willingness to correct it trumps my flare up. My return was met with concern and an eagerness to provide excellent care. I can't stress how much they apologized and it felt so sincere. Sometimes you get poor service and people make excuses or worse than that, don't acknowledge your concern at all, but that was definitely not the case here. Oh, my god. That was probably the best massage I had in years. I was ready to see a dark space with sheets instead of walls but was pleasantly surprised to see a cute clean spa. My masseuse (Janine, something like that) was phenomenal, she immediately told me I was too tense and then made wonders with my poor back. Place was open till 10:30 pm So that caught my eye since I just arrived to nyc for the weekend and my nails were a mess! I don't like doing my mani at Asian places but who the f was going to be open at this time So we walked from the Hilton and of course got a little lost It was o the 3 floor typical nyc I love it Ok David's pedi he loved due to the massage My pedi nah not to happy I didn't go for the gel as I knew they probably wouldn't get it right but they made me remove my own polish and gel. Thank god they were destroyed She never has me dial instead she used some sort of acid and did a bad job on the cuticles for a weekend let's look good hands it was ehhhhh. I already went few times and Bienfait never disappoints. Compared to all other spa's in the area, Bienfait is the best by far. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. The spa is very clean. They offer variety of combo packages with reasonable price. Their facial actually show results instantly. I have very sensitive skin and their products are are great! This place looks super sketchy from the outside but it's actually really nice. It looks very professional and clean inside. The staff are nice and I got a really nice massage for a very cheap price. My back feels loose and relaxed now, and my heels, which used to hurt every time I put my foot on something, don't hurt now. Definitely would recommend this place. read more

30$ for a bum rush job! After I was told it was 15$. Came back after I was done and said "oh sorry 15$ for mani". No clipping (didn't know I actually had to ask to clip my toenails) Dry time was about 2 minutes before they came back to take your fan and put your shoes back on. Plus only 1 coat of polish. And now that I'm looking I see some spot aren't fully covered! Won't go back!!! read more

Clean, quiet and professional spa! What more would you need - this is seriously as good as an affordable massage place in New York can get. The staff are professional and kind, and responsive to any specific requests that I sometimes have. I've had a full hour awsome facial service and full hour back and leg massage and only paid almost the half the price compared to other spas. Great price and also the great services offered.
