We loved our visit to Bibayoff! When I called in advance to find out about tours, I was told they don't have tours right now due to COVID. I was about to consider another place when they offered to take us out into the vineyard so we could pick and taste grapes. That sounded pretty awesome to me!
When we arrived, I noticed that the winery is very homey. It's not a big modern fancy winery like some you see, but it's also one of the early wineries to the valley and is a Russian family that came to the valley long ago. I thought it would be nice to visit one of the older wineries. They also have one of the largest vineyards by acreage.
I had a group of 12, some drink wine, some don't. We sat out on picnic tables in the backyard area and it was really lovely. It was a hot day, but we were in the shade of big trees and there was a breeze. They brought us bottles of wine outside for us to taste and water in between. The staff was very friendly, the back area was really nice and we could see that it was very family-friendly, they even had play areas. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but I know what I like and some of the wines I enjoyed and others were okay, but the experience was really enjoyable. Once we were done tasting we rode out to the vineyard in our van with a guide and we actually were able to pick grapes and taste them. We tasted a Chablis and a Pinot and being that it was early September and the beginning of the harvest, they were plump and sweet and we loved it.
I paid $18 per person. They also have food you can get, but we had just had breakfast so passed on that, but I definitely recommend a visit. Great service, friendly family and just a relaxing location. read more
