We came here for lunch today, ravenous, in the middle of the move to our new house. Which, by the way, is right up the street, so we were test-driving this place to be our new Italian deli! It passed. I got the #1 Classic Italian sandwich on a baguette - salami, ham, provolone, oil and vinegar. Love the free add-ons available to any sandwich: onions, pesto, balsamic and hot peppers. I added onions and hot peppers and was so glad I did. Hardy got a cheesesteak with provolone and red peppers also on a baguette. We both remarked how much the freshness and deliciousness of the bread really took the sandwiches up a few pegs. Great baguette. The soda selection is unique and fun (I love Gus and MASH sodas) and we tried the NYC dill pickle flavored chips. Yum. We both finished our meals without leaving a crumb. Decided to get a few cookies on the way out -- they could have been a tiny bit fresher. That was our only (mini) gripe. Service is excellent and this really seems to be a neighborhood friendly place, where they get to know their customers and are super friendly and responsive. Have been in and out of here several times over the past few years and have never taken the time to review, i hope that they know by my coming back, and my husband being in there much more often that me - that we really do love this place. I am married to a man who judges a joint by the tablecloth and the bread. Since this is basically a bakery, we take the tablecloth off the checklist - the bread they bake is what keeps us coming back. This is also the bread we serve on our dinner table, at dinner parties, and for Christmas Day dinner when the boys are all home and sit down and eat pounds of prosciutto di parma, slicing sticks of Columbus Felino and hot sopresseta, a chuck of parmesan, gruyere, and creamy swiss Raclette and Saint Andre triple cream cheese - yes these are the things my sons want when the come in from LA and Detroit - they want the good stuff and here is where we come for the good bread. Have to mention that they do a mean breakfast sandwich of pepper and eggs, and we have had dinner and not been disappointed and today we enjoyed a half sheet cake that we had made for a party. The place is nice and there is a large selection of Italian baked goods. The sandwiches are very tasty. Hopefully today was a one-off occurrence but the woman behind the counter did not give me the best customer service. While I heard her being nice to everyone else and calling many of them by name, when I asked for an update on my order, she replied with, "What is it (sarcastically)? I guess I can check on it" as she shook her head from left to right in a "no" motion, huffing and puffing as she walked away. How dare I bother her at work?! She said very loudly to me, "It's not ready yet!" Coming from the food industry myself, the sandwich was running a little long. I wasn't rude when asking. When it was done, she made sure to SCREAM the order from across the room to make sure I and everyone else knew it was ready. The sandwich was incredible. She on the other hand was not. I stopped in for the first time to get a pastry with a co-worker. I get back to work and am quite excited to try the mini lemon meringue pie. I absolutely love lemon meringue pie, without question it is my favorite dessert. So I was really sad that this mini pie was a massive disappointment. The meringue was gummy and dense but tasted ok, the crust was good as well. HOWEVER, the lemon filling was downright disgusting. It didn't taste anything like lemon, at all. Almost had a mustard taste somehow if that makes sense. Upon tasting the filling it went straight into the trash. Ambiance. The place was packed so good ambiance although I thought the lighting was a little bright. Food. The positive side is that the Salmon and Osso Bucco were great which is most important. The Caesar salad was basically lettuce, croutons, and cheese with Caesar dressing on the side. Having to pour the dressing and mix it myself is never as good as having it all mixed in the back and served altogether so this was not enjoyable. Service. It was so so as it took over 20 mins for someone to even come over to share specials and greet us. While I didn't mind having the extra time with my wife to talk, the food took a long time but that is probably a function of how many people were there. I have to say that Carmela and the main waiter came over later and they were very pleasant. We will definitely give this place another shot. read more

We placed an order for pizza dough in order to make some Easter recipes. The dough was absolutely awful, it was unworkable, gooey, and sticky no matter how much flour we added. We called the establishment and they said to put it in the freezer which made it worse. They charged $40 for 5 dough balls. In a pinch, we called Ciro's down the road. The dough was beautiful and they only charged $16 for 5 doughs. This place is overpriced and overrated. read more

Lunch Review. Stop by for a quick italian sandwich - ordered the whole Godfather ...yum!!!! The bread is heavenly! Like OMG perfect amount of crustiness and mix of meat and veggies! I was expecting more cheese but honestly the sandwich was so good by itself. It had salami and proscuitto -heaven! Will return for more sandwiches - hoping to try the numero 1 next time and people mentioned there was balsamic and stuff somewhere so I'll try to eat here next time instead! read more

Bakery Review: I really wanted to love this place, unfortunately the baked goods were inedible. We ordered a cupcake and hazelnut torte, both were stale and flavorless. My 3 year old didn't even eat the cupcake, if that's any indication of just how bad it was. On a separate note, I ordered coffee and all the "self serve" containers were empty. My wife and I ate at Biagio's last night. I thought I was hungry for spaghetti and meatballs but then I spotted chicken Parmesan on the menu. My wife had ordered her usual healthy and safe grilled fish with vegetables and potatoes while I dove into the chicken Parm. In what turned out to be a comedy act my wife after tasting my chicken Parm dinner ignored her meal and help me eat mine. I think the test of a good Italian restaurant is something like the chicken Parmesan dinner. The only word I could use for the meal was perfect. This is will be our 4th Saturday at Biagios in Stirling. We are bringing friends tonight to sample the delicious food and great ambience. Carmela is a terrific hostess and the waitstaff does a very good job in taking orders and delivering them in a timely manner. My husband has Celiac and they go out of their way to accommodate him. The food is fresh, and much of the items on menu are from D'artagnan and the fish is wild caught. The quality is evident in the taste! I love that it is a BYO and the glassware is beautiful! Pretty restaurant with linen cloths and napkins and pretty chandeliers to make this a charming place. This is now a favorite and we will be coming here often. read more

It was my first time and went there to order a sandwich. I was basically ignored for 10 minutes because there was a young man in the shop who they all knew and a patron who knew him as well. Everyone was gushing over this young man and they went on and on, talking to this person, ignoring the other patrons. I finally ordered my sandwich and found the bread to be incredibly hard. Great little Italian deli bakery! Have heard about this place a few times recently where people rave about their take out family meals and bread. We were in the area on a Sunday looking for to-go lunch when I remembered those reviews. We stopped in and found every one to be very friendly in this cute little bakery. Right off we impressed by the bakery case and the bread looked amazing!! There were so many sandwich choices to pick from! We got the Biagio and the Godmother. Our lunch was awesome!! The Biagio was a chicken cutlet with broccoli rab and fresh mozzarella. It was perfect as was the other prosciutto, mozzarella and roasted pepper sandwich. The highlight was the bread and how fresh it was. We will definitely be back very soon! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but it was an overall bad experience that I'd like to share. I feel like if I put it out there then maybe the owner can take this feedback and improve. My wife and I arrived at their newly added and renovated Trattoria around 7:30pm and it was a very busy Friday night. We were seated in a decent amount of time and ordered an appetizer and entree each. Appetizers took a little bit to come out but didn't think anything of it. While waiting for the apps, they gave us a spoonful tasting of some butternut squash soup. It was ok. Appetizers came out and they were also just ok. I ordered the agrodolce and my wife, the kale Caesar salad. I liked the agrodolce except the lentils were a little hard/undercooked and definitely had some sand in there. They could have been rinsed better before cooking. My wife's kale Caesar salad was very bland. Kale on a plate, barely dressed with a sprinkle of parm cheese and some bread crumbs. Very underwhelming. Then we waited almost 35 minutes after our apps for our entrees to come out. I ordered the salmon and my wife, the pasta carbonara. After waiting what seemed like an eternity and 3 rounds of "your entrees will be right out" (you only get to say that once. After once, it's insulting) my salmon came out raw. My wife ate her pasta and said it was ok. After waiting for so long, I couldn't order another entree and wait even longer for them to cook it, so I told them that the salmon was raw and to take it off the check. The waiter and manager came over to offer dessert, but dessert doesn't cover an inedible entree. I was leaving the restaurant hungry. The manager or i think owner passively asked me what she could do to make things right and felt that approach was kinda crappy as they served me food that I couldn't eat after waiting forever and now I have to figure out the solution to the problem. That's for the manager to figure out and offer. She should have comped the whole bill and maybe I wouldn't have wrote this review. The restaurant business is brutal and you get one chance to give people a good experience or they will never come back or worse they will tell others of their bad experience. Our bill was around $55 dollars and they probably lost thousands of lifetime value of me, my circle and everyone who will read this review by not figuring out how to make things right. I hope they read this and can handle future terrible experiences better than the passive and conservative approach they took. You have to fight for customers! It happens, I've worked in restaurants, but what you do after decides the outcome. read more

My only experience with Biagio's is ordering a birthday cake for my two kids party. Carmela was great, she immediately understood how I wanted the cake to look. The cake came out beautiful and elegant, everyone was impressed with it. It was a vanilla cake with chocolate and raspberry ganache filling...yummy! I'd definitely order from them again! read more

Best Pignoli cookies I have ever had! I stopped in to pick up some treats to bring to a customer meeting and got rave reviews on all of the items I brought with me but I got a special box of pignoli cookies for my family to test and they were amazing! The food was good but the service here is not very welcoming or helpful. My parents and I stopped in to try the place since everyone seemed to like the food in town but nobody payed attention to us when we walked in. The high school girls running the front completely ignored my father while they talked to their friends instead. The girl behind the counter was not very enthusiastic about serving my dad and only took quicker action when I walked up to order pastries ( probably because I'm closer to her age and looked mad). While the decorating was very nice.... THE ORDER WAS COMPLETELY WRONG!!! I flew up from Orlando to have my baby shower in New Jersey because it's where all my family & friends are and my mom insisted on this place because "Italian bakeries have the best cakes" even though I wanted something else that I know would have been perfect. When my mom went to pick up the cake the day of the shower, it was decorated in RED when we specifically asked for pink ombré. She had them redo it because it was not what we wanted. The result came out pretty decent though. Cut to a few hours later, my husband and I cut the cake and I try the icing. We specifically asked for butter cream icing because we hate whipped icing and what did I taste?! Whipped icing!!!! Being pregnant and looking forward to having some cake, I was very angry. From what my mom told me while ordering and visiting the place, everyone she dealt with was very rude and cold. For spending a couple hundred bucks on a cake, we were EXTREMELY unhappy. read more

The waitress went and asKed the chef and was told they were out of Papradelle and substituted the other noodle. They offered dessert but my guest is diabetic. First time here today but we will definitely be back. We just moved to Chatham and have been on the search for our Italian deli and I think we have found it! We got the Godmother (prosciutto sandwich), a slice of pizza, and a Napoleon for dessert. The sandwich was excellent and my husband and I both remarked that the bread was fresh and perfect and the sandwich proportions were spot-on. I can't wait to come back and try their other sandwiches as well as the pastas and other dinners. This might even qualify as our new catering joint. The service was excellent - friendly and fast.
