Greek Salad

EXCELLENT Italian! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the warm, inviting, smells of garlic and sauce. I had the pesto pasta with chicken and a Greek salad. The garlic Goodness. Your Nona would be proud. Definitely recommended!

It's a small location on Ludlow that's easy walking distance from the Esquire. After our movie, we stopped in to eat and discuss. Service was a little lackluster initially. Our server was nice when she arrived, though. The food was fine but nothing special. I found the Alfredo to be particularly bland.

A lovely Italian Bistro; charming, romantic and elegant vibe, just the right touch of sophistication. Beautiful decor. Italian music playing very softly. Family run, homemade pasta! Open kitchen front and center and the sizzle of olive oil and scent of garlic really stimulate the senses and get your appetite honed. Then comes the wonderful food to delight the tastebuds. It's truly a bistro; the menu is small, but the recipes and methods are perfect, and the food comes quickly. It is a joy to watch the chef in action with multiple burners in operation. The prices are very reasonable especially considering the included soup or salad, and the entree portions are not skimpy! We both got Italian Wedding soup and they give you a generous bowlful. It was full of tender little meatballs and very comforting and tasty. My husband had the chicken fettuccine alfredo...so flavorful and a perfect sauce, not too heavy, and loved the chopped green onion mixed in. Yes I had a couple forkfuls. I had the delectable chicken salad, some of the best ever; the inclusion of grapes really elevates the flavor. Pro tip: get this on a hero roll (a/k/a hoagie bun). This was toasted and I really liked the lettuce and tomato on the side so I could build it myself. Desserts! SAVE ROOM or take one home. Chocolate cream pie was a mile high, delicate chocolate crumbs atop an amazingly creamy whip, just sweet enough. I took a slice of Limoncello Torte home and we also got an order of Penne Bosciola to go to share tomorrow. The pasta is penne rigate and also homemade. There's a parking lot behind the buildings on the opposite side of the street so prepare to walk a bit as the likelihood of finding a spot on the street is slim to none. But I'd walk a mile (or drive 100) to eat here. Delicioso!

Artichoke Dip and Tomato Basil soup!

Absolutely DELICIOUS! The food came quickly and I was very well taken care of. The staff was amazing. I was delighted by the value of what I got for the price and how fresh everything was. I got the artichoke dip, tomato soup, pesto fettuccine pasta and a slice of cheesecake. All of them were wonderful! I will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

This was a very charming Italian restaurant. The service was incredible, they were truly on top of everything from the moment we walked in. We came on Valentine's Day and were not disappointed one bit. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with classic Italian music playing softly in the background, which made the whole experience feel romantic and authentic. The portions were a very good size, generous without being overwhelming. I only wish I had saved room for dessert because every single option looked amazing. You could tell everything was made with love and prepared fresh to order. Watching the food being made right in front of you just added to the experience and made it feel even more special. 10/10 I would absolutely come back just for this restaurant alone.

Still thinking about their delicious chicken scallopini dish. It was amazing. Great, quaint restaurant in Ludlow, close to UC's campus. Surrounding neighborhood is beautiful and interesting, too.

Tiramisu

I had lunch here the other day. It was great!! I will give a slight warning, if you do not love garlic, do not order the artichoke dip. If you do, it's amazing! I had that and the tomato basil soup. Both were fantastic. The service could not have been any better! Can't wait to go bank for dinner! I am usually a big food photo person, but I only grabbed this one photo half way through my dessert. The tiramisu was really good!

I used Yelp to find an Italian restaurant that I hadn't been to before, and I certainly agree with the numerous 5-star reviews. We chose to sit in the booth at the front, but there are two dining rooms, as well as high tops that look into the open kitchen, where the magic happens. We both started with a nice Caesar salad, although garlic croutons would have been a welcome replacement for the plain dried bread cubes. They were nicely crunchy, though. A plate of chewy Italian bread with butter (nicely soft) accompanied the meal. My date had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, with a cream-heavy sauce. I had the chicken scaloppini, which was nicely poached in a mushroom white wine sauce, served over fettuccine (homemade). We both took some home, so she could have crème brûlée, and I had limoncello torte. Both of us were happy with our choices from the well-stocked dessert cooler.

Food was incredible. Had the Shrimp Fettuccini but started with the Italian Wedding Soup. I love Italian wedding soup and this was one of the best ones I've ever had. The service was extremely attentive and personable. The restaurant was quiet and a good temperature. Amazing experience!

We had a great meal at Biagio's Bistro last night. The portions were very large and the food was served hot. It was a very nice atmosphere for a Saturday night. We will return.

We did not have a reservation, but being mid week, thought it wouldn't be an issue. Upon entering the place looked really full. We all said, Uh-Oh, might be a problem. The host staff was very friendly, and though we didn't have a reservation stated that she would try her best to get us a table. She came back to us in only a few minutes and said she had it worked out and we were able to be seated in only 10 minutes or so. The atmosphere is very unique, being underground. It is a bit echoey, but we managed well. Our server, Delaney, was fantastic! She made us feel at home, explained the menu really well, and was very attentive. She is extremely friendly and helpful, and a delight to talk to! The food? Oh, my! The food is amazing. Nice wine list, good pairings, portions just right! For starters we shared an order of grilled bread covered with goat cheese, honey and toasted hazelnut. Delicious! For the mains, my wife and sister-in-law both had the Tagliatelle con porcini and raved about it. I had the Cappellacci pasta filled with short rib. It had an absolute beautiful sauce. We paired it all with a bottle of red wine from Tuscany. Truly a great meal, and so much fun, at a wonderful setting. If We ever come back to Cincinnati, we would surely come again! Overall a wonderful experience!

10/10 -- No Notes, No Regrets, Just Carbs and Happiness!…read more Cooking is both a science AND an art, and dining at Sotto reminded me exactly why I love the culinary experience so much! I intentionally chose a seat at the chef's table because I wanted to watch the magic happen. And BABY, did I get a show! Watching the chefs move in perfect synchrony, each person knowing exactly what to do and when to do it, genuinely made me fall in love with cooking all over again. It was like watching a beautifully choreographed performance, except the final masterpiece was edible! I was so impressed that I HAD to tell the chef how much I appreciated what I was witnessing. The level of precision, creativity, and teamwork was mesmerizing. Some people might see a busy kitchen and feel overwhelmed. Me? I see artistry, passion, and a little bit of controlled chaos, and I absolutely LOVE it! Now, let's talk about the FOOD because whew! THE BREAD: First of all, the complimentary bread was warm, garlicky, soft, and absolutely DELICIOUS. And because apparently I have no self-control when bread is this good, I ordered MORE to try it with the creamy cheese spread. Y'all... by the time I looked up, I was SIX pieces deep. SIX! And I have ZERO regrets. I'm not even a big bread eater, so that alone should tell you something! THE PASTA: The star of the show! A gorgeous, Parmesan-topped pasta coated in the most beautifully balanced, creamy, buttery cheese sauce. Parmesan-based dishes can go from perfection to a salt bomb VERY quickly, but the kitchen absolutely nailed the balance here. Rich without being overpowering, cheesy without being excessively salty, and indulgent in all the right ways. And the texture? PERFECTION. The pasta was cooked beautifully al dente, with that lovely little bite that tells you someone in the kitchen knows exactly what they're doing. Not mushy, not undercooked, just right! I actually asked for a SPOON because leaving even a drop of that sauce behind would've been disrespectful. At this point, I was officially carb-loaded, but listen... if you're not carb-loading at an Italian restaurant, are you even doing it right?! THE RICOTTA DONUTS: Because clearly I hadn't had enough carbs, I decided dessert was necessary. I'd heard the ricotta donuts were a standout, and now I understand WHY! I especially appreciated that they offer two portion sizes: four or twelve donuts. As someone who was already pretty full and ordering dessert purely out of greed, the four-piece option was perfect. These little beauties were unbelievably moist, soft, and practically melted in my mouth. Every bite was heavenly! I was full, I knew I was full, and yet somehow I found room. That's how you KNOW they're good! THE SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE: Beyond the food, what made this experience truly special was the PEOPLE. From the attentive waitstaff to the incredibly talented chefs, everyone contributed to such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff even encouraged me to ask questions while watching the kitchen, although I was a little nervous about distracting anyone from their craft. I could've happily sat there watching them cook all evening. There's something so special about being surrounded by people who genuinely take pride in what they do. I came for a meal and left with an even deeper appreciation for the creativity, discipline, and passion behind exceptional cooking. FINAL VERDICT: 10/10. No notes. Minus NOTHING! Would I come back? ABSOLUTELY. Would I sit at the chef's table again? WITHOUT QUESTION. Would I eat six pieces of bread again? Mind your business. Sotto, thank you for reminding me that dining out can be so much more than simply eating. Sometimes it's an entire experience, and this one was beautiful from beginning to end!

Because it is so exxxxxxpensive, this is not a restaurant you casually dine at. But since it was my sister's Bachelorette weekend, my group of 7 treated the bride-to-be to a luxurious dinner here in May 2026. And she had a wonderful experience! The interior is gorgeous, elegant, and smells amazing. The staff is professional and runs with the efficiency of a Michellen-starred restaurant. I always enjoy watching a staff of 7 deliver the table their food like they are performing a choreographed dance. I ordered the cheapest drink on the menu - a yummy local beer from MadTree for $7. The others had much more expensive cocktails that were $20+. You won't have to worry - while their food menu is small and selective, the drink menu is HUGE. They surprised us with glasses of in honor of my sister's upcoming nuptials. That was a lovely treat! I kept to being a cheap-o and ordered the $18 "Arpege" salad as my main. It didn't have any meat but it had a lot of cheese! Yum! Others ordered more substantial mains like the scallops, the beef tartare, the halibut, etc. All were plated beautifully. I had a bite of the bolognese, and while a small portion, it was superb. You do have to pay for bread service but it is unlimited refills so on $8, the 7 of us went through 6 loaves of bread and 6 trays of delicious salted butter. I personally probably had 2 loaves on my own. My god, it was the best thing I ate the entire trip! After we ate our mains, we then ordered a variety of desserts. Most of us got ice cream (get the strawberry!!). My sister and another girl got the famous "candy bar" dessert and the cheesecake. I had a bite of the candy bar and for $15, it was the most dense candy bar ever! Sooooo much chocolate! I'll end here but with tax and tip, we paid about $630ish. My portion was $51, by far the lowest of the group. I got out relatively cheaply because I filled up on bread but feel free to treat yourself and indulge a bit more!

It was all delicious, service was wonderful, vibes were beautiful, and I felt the food came at a good value for what we ordered. Mainstrasse in Covington is an experience and Mama's is part of that! We sat outside on the patio to take it all in- highly recommend in nice weather. The building itself is beautiful and both the inside and outside feature artsy details in the decor that I really appreciated. My favorite was the mismatched plates, which were darling and cozy! Our waitstaff was quick and friendly, allowing us to order all at once and bringing things out with great timing- quickly, but not until we finished a course so we weren't rushed. We appreciated getting in and out relatively quick as we had a sitter at home. We decided to go a little all out and try a lot of items together. First, the focaccia and ricotta was enjoyable but not my favorite bread starter I've had. It hit the spot but I wasn't raving about it like another one of my favorite whipped ricotta starters across town. The arancini, however, was fantastic- probably our favorite thing we ate. Hot, crispy, and paired with a delicious spicy marinara that was super standout and flavorful. Next we got the stonefruit panzanella, which was beautiful and really yummy. The burrata was delicious in particular and while the cherries and peaches weren't the best I've had all season, they worked well together in this dish. For our entrees, we split both the chicken parmesan and the limone pasta. The chicken parmesan was huge, we both had a large piece even after it was split. The pasta had that delicious marinara from earlier and we really enjoyed it, which is saying a lot for a simple marinara spaghetti. The chicken was very thin and crispy. I liked the limone even better- it was very lemon forward which can be hard to achieve in a creamy sauce. We only wished we tried more shapes of pasta because it's made in house and the spaghetti was the perfect level of al dente in our opinions. We were super full, but ordered the cookie platter to finish the meal. We split a couple of the 6 cookies that came in 3 varieties, but took the rest home! The chewy almond/amaretto cookie was our favorite and really unique. My husband also had an old fashioned and commented that he liked it a lot. I would have expected this much food to come out to much more than it did- $100! I feel that is a great value for a special occasion considering we were stuffed and tried a ton of menu items. Overall, this was such an indulgent and fun experience and I'd highly recommend Mama's to anyone who is looking for a yummy Italian experience with comfort food classics in a fun, cozy Covington setting.

It's dimly lit with exposed brick walls, and tables that sit really close to each other. It definitely gives a romantic vibe. Next, the service was great. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and helpful. We're a curious group and he was happy to answer all of the questions we had about the menu. Now on to the food... We started our meal off by sharing the focaccia with roasted tomato, basil, and parmesan, as well as the burrata, which the menu described as being prepared seasonally. I honestly wasn't a big fan of either of them. That said, the next thing I got was the kale caesar, which was fantastic. It's a big portion and they offered to split it into two so my coworker and I could both enjoy it. Aside from your typical croutons and parm, it also had celery and roasted tomatoes. The roasted tomatoes were a fabulous addition. For my entree I went with the truffle pasta with shrimp. I expected a little more from this dish if I'm being honest. It was extremely oily and the sauce was really loose. That said, it was very rich and full of truffle flavor. I ended up getting sick in the middle of the night and I'm pretty sure this was the culprit. We ended the meal with their famous butter cake with a scoop of gelato on top. It only took one bite to realize why this dessert is so well loved. While we were all really full, we couldn't stop eating it. It literally melted in your mouth! Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but if I were to visit again I would order differently. The options for a vegetarian who sometimes eats seafood were limited, but I have my eye on that kale salad and butter cake.
