I really had it enough here.. My friend wanted a quick bite at Bhojanic since we both were at the Lenox mall last Friday. We each ordered the Amritsari fish pakora. It was a bit much for one person to finish the whole plate of fried fish nuggets but to be fair, I never have big complaints about the food here. What really cheeses me off is the doggone awful service here. If one reads my review of Bhojanic, the service has never been stellar. It is not even médiocre. From eye rolling diva attitude to the lack of service to the everything-takes-forever here. Last Friday finally got me all riled up. I paid for both of us after taking forever to find our server and got her attention to bring over our check. Our server disappeared with my credit card. Yes, she disappeared with my credit card for a very long time. She was not at the cash register near the entrance. She just vanished somewhere with my credit card. We finally got up and wanted to find a staff so someone could track down the server with my credit card. She must be kidding!! As expected, there was not a single restaurant staff on sight. By this time, I was fuming mad inside. Our server eventually reappeared. Lucky me right?!! I was so pissed (pardonez moi), I took the tray with my credit card from her, put a slash on the blank next to the "Tip" and tallied the total, signed and walked out while started calling Amex. Because I did not trust any staff who would take my credit card and disappeared out of my sight and for such a prolonged period of time, I asked the customer representative to cancel and replace me with a new card. I was supposed to receive my replacement card on Monday. Today is Wednesday and I have yet to receive my card. I just called Amex and was told it was held at FedEx and they could expedite another card for me. I told the representative it must be due to the Thanksgiving holiday and hence the delay. I would wait for a couple more days. So, no thanks to Bhojanic, I can't go Black Friday shopping with my platinum card :( read more

Found this place in my Atlanta passbook and the food was definitely authentic Indian. Located in Buckhead it is in a very busy strip mall, parking is a little limited, but definitely available. Great place to have lunch for a meeting or just with a friend. Great vegetarian as well as vegan options as well which fits my lifestyle. I always forget that Bhojanic exists and I'm always like how do I keep forgetting this place whenever I walk in and am greeted by the delicious aromas. The design of this restaurant is very woody, but bright, with colorful Indian upholstered cushions as part of the décor. I ordered a Carnivore Thali to eat which included a combo of 3 meats (Chicken Keema, Lamb Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala). There was also white rice, raita, and naan. The Lamb Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala were very good, but I wasn't too fond of the Chicken Keema probably because it was ground meat. I also tried some cocktails though I don't remember the names, but they were just ok (not strong enough for the price of ~$10-$12). The service was so so as I wish the waiter came around a lot more often to check up, but it wasn't terrible. As far as an allergy-friendly restaurant, Bhojanic is the best it could possibly get! This Indian restaurant is so ingredient-conscious that I cannot wait to go back. I have a bunch of uncommon allergies, as well as gluten intolerance, and Bhojanic handled my order with ease. AND I ordered through UberEats!! Visited Bhojanic for lunch. The decor is very cute and very modern. It has both an Indian and Western vibe. We were seated promptly in the middle of the restaurant. The waiter didn't get to us for a few minutes, but was very apologetic and came with waters. While waiting, I used the bathroom, which was clean-normal (nothing to phone home about). The menu is vast, with a combination of street food and traditional fares. There is also a lunch menu on the back. -I ordered the Build-Your-Own Thali with 1 meat and 1 veg. Chicken tikka masala with the paneer of the day (potato and cauliflower mix) ($10.95) My husband was going to get the same thing, but the waiter made a strong recommendation for the Mango Chilli Wings ($10.95), so he got that instead. The waiter assured him he would like it, or he would get him something else. He didn't have to because THEY WERE DELICIOUS. The order came with 8 wings. He also got the Saag Paneer, which I hadn't tried, but I would certainly get it again. My food was good, very flavorful, but they didn't ask a spice level so I thought it was a bit mild. We came to Bhojanic to celebrate an anniversary. We didn't have reservations , we figured it wouldn't be too busy on a Monday for dinner. We were seated promptly. For starters we ordered the tandoori chicken ( originally ordered the wings but they were out) this was very dry and almost tasted like it was heated up in a microwave. We also ordered the pani puri which was okay, the water was a bit salty but spicy nonetheless to make up for it. We also ordered the poutine which was average. The burrito was a favorite by the table along with the Mexican bhel. The burrito was almost like biryani stuffed in a flour tortilla. For the main course we ordered the saag and chilli paneer. The saag was really good and even good the next day. The chili paneer was a bit sweet and not your typical chilli paneer. Came here for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I hadn't been to Bhojanic in YEARS but I was pleased to see that everything tasted exactly as I remembered! My server Alisha was great- super attentive even though she had other tables and was helpful in explaining the menu changes. I ordered the Shakahari Thali with alu ghobi, saag paneer, and chili paneer. The menu has changed quite a bit so it took me some time to navigate to what I wanted. They also have stuffed naan here, and I tried the paneer naan. It was really tasty! This is definitely one of the most unique Indian restaurants in the area which can be seen from the menu, with things like tots and nachos. They take the term "fusion" seriously! Bhojanic is a popular Atlanta area Indian restaurant which recently opened a second location (March 2013) in Buckhead at the Shops Around Lenox. I'm familiar with Bhojanic because I've been to the original location in Decatur and have attended events catered by the restaurant. When it comes to Indian restaurants in Atlanta, Bhojanic is one of the nicer ones. The Buckhead location is new and shiny. The space is tastefully decorated from floor to ceiling. The interior is narrow, but the modern design makes it feel spacious. The polished concrete floors are decorated with Indian prints, colorful pillows line the bench seating against the wall, and various ornamented light fixtures hang from above. Inside, there's a bar, a semi-private section for group dining, and table seating. Outside, there are several small tables on the front patio. Bhojanic serves authentic Indian food in both tapas (small, shareable plates) and entree form. The menu includes parathas (flatbread), chat (street food including different kinds of puri), kathi rolls (similar to small burritos), curry dishes, and salads. Thalis are also offered. Thalis are combination platters and I recommend them because you get to try a lot of different dishes. Expect to spend about $7-9 each for most of the tapas-sized plates, parathas, chat, and kathi rolls. The full-sized entrees are upwards of $18 (e.g. goat curry). Thalis are about $12-15 each, depending on how many meats and vegetables you order. The thali meat and vegetable options change often. There's also a paneer (cheese) of the day, biryani (rice) of the day, and specials. We visited on a Saturday afternoon no more than a month after the grand opening and most of the time, we were the only customers inside the restaurant. I tried the following on thali platters: Saag Paneer - creamed spinach with Indian cheese Chicken Curry - bone-in chicken in a ginger, garlic, onion, and yogurt-based curry Alu Gobhi - potatoes and cauliflower with ginger and tomato Chicken Tikka Masala - boneless tandoori chicken in a tomato cream sauce Daal Makhini - black lentils tempered with asafetida Bhindi Masala - sauteed okra with caramelized onions I like the way Bhojanic serves its thalis. Each thali is served on a metal tray with six compartments, each compartment designed for one food item. It's neat and reminds me of the cafeteria trays from elementary school. Other restaurants typically serve thalis in several small metal bowls (similar to banchan). The upper three compartments have your chosen meat/veggie items. The bottom three compartments have raita (cucumber yogurt sauce), rice pullao (rice with peas and carrots) and papadam (crispy lentil cracker), and a small side salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber). The thali also comes with chapati (flat bread). Generally, almost everything tasted good. A few of the items were a bit overseasoned (one tremendously). I loved how soft and fluffy the rice pullao was. I wouldn't mind ordering a bowl of this a la carte ($2.95). The chapati was freshly baked, so it was served still steaming and glistening from the oven. Along with the papadam, these were ideal accompaniments to the flavorful food. I enjoyed all of the meat/veggie selections except for the Bhindi Masala. It was inedibly salty. I can tolerate salty foods, but it was too salty even for me. I tried mixing the bhindi with rice, chapati, and raita to drown out the saltiness, but it didn't help. I attempted to force myself to finish it, but couldn't. It was that bad -- a shame because I love okra. In addition, the Bhindi Masala was the only thali vegetable selection that day which incurred an additional charge of $1.50, leaving me that much more disappointed. I like Indian creamed spinach, often called Palak Paneer or Saag Paneer (as it's called here). It was smooth and creamy, but also more salty than average. Not nearly as bad as the bhindi, though. Bhojanic's version has cubes of paneer cheese (Indian cheese) in it, which is common. Both of the chicken dishes were delicious. I give a slight edge to the chicken curry. Both were flavorful. Note the Chicken Curry comes bone-in, so you'll have to work your away through bones if you want to enjoy it. The Chicken Tikka Masala is boneless. In both cases, the meat was tender and savory. The tomato flavor was evident when eating the Chicken Tikka Masala, moreso than I've experienced before. The Alu Gobhi was my favorite veggie, perhaps even over the Saag Paneer. The potatoes and cauliflower were covered in a rich and pungent sauce. Watch out for the chunks of ginger, which can be quite strong. More cauliflower, please. The Daal Makhini is made with asafetida, which is a spice sometimes used as a garlic and onion substitute. The lentils were thick, hearty, and tasty. Alexa was our server and she did a fantastic job. After hearing several people (including Indian people) rave about this place, I finally gave it a try. Traffic around Lenox mall is crazy on the weekends. It almost reminded me of Snowpocalypse 2014 3.0. I finally got to the Shops Around Lenox center and finding parking wasn't too difficult. The inside of the restaurant was decorated nicely, but I opted to sit outside and enjoy the sun. The two page menu plus daily special offered a variety of options. I asked the waiter what was popular there and he basically mentioned everything on the menu. I opted to go with the Thalis (traditional Indian combo platter) for about $12. (slightly longer review on my food blog) I've eaten at the Bhojanic location in Decatur on Clarimont Rd. This location I believe has only been opened for around a year. You'll find it in the shopping center to the right facing the Mall from Peachtree (it's anchored by a Crate and Barrel retail location) - Bhojanic is in the "crook of the elbow" - there's a wood-slat blind holding outside seating. The interior is modernist-trendy with interesting art and an open bar. The menu is interesting and highlights the idea of both serving traditional Indian cuisine and Indian-food-as tapas. If you think about the various dishes found in Indian cuisine, tapas (Spanish for "small plates") is an excellent vehicle for allowing diners to sample many different elements in smaller portions, so you aren't limited by the size of your party. For this, my first visit to this location, I attended with some visitors from Boston (Pranay and Tom) and my local friend Siddharth. We ordered a few beers (including an excellent slow-brewed "Taj Mahal" - after traveling to India I've found that for some reason this beer isn't really available IN India - it's also owned by the parent of Kingfisher, United Brewing but is virtually unknown there). After studying the menu I invited Siddharth to order from the table. He chose three entrée dishes and some various breads: Lamb Curry - this curry was dark and rich and wonderful with ginger, garlic and turmeric as the predominate flavors - in retrospect we should have ordered the goat instead (for some reason the Indians call goat "mutton" - I've always used that term for adult sheep). The meat was lean and slightly tough (but I've come to expect that) - goat has a similar flavor and tends to be more tender, if a bit more greasy. Chicken Tikka Masala - this is the classic chicken curry (most Americans call this "butter chicken" but then again, with enough ghee everything is!) - here's the Tikka is creamy and bright orange, with meats marinated in curd (yogurt), heated with spices and finished with a tomato puree. Delicious. Sag Paneer - this Northern Indian spinach dish was one of the best I've had recently - chunks of paneer (fresh milk cheese) tossed in spices and spinach. Naan -flat bread cooked in a tandoori oven Garlic Naan - as above but with garlic (appeared to be garlic powder - for some reason I haven't been able to find a good fresh-garlic naan in the US - the closest to what I sampled in India is at Heart of India on I285/Chamblee-Tucker). Tava Paratha - this is a whole wheat skiddle-fried flat bread The dishes came with a really delicious long-grain basmati rice - I loved the consistency, a bit buttery with a hint of cinnamon. Also a few papadam (lentil crackers) and spicy mixed pickles to add a bit of variety to the dishes. We finished the meal with a couple of unusual (for me) pistachio kulfis - this is basically an ice cream packed with pistachios and served with a rice vermicelli (on top). First time I've had it prepared with the noodles - seems it's a common thing around Calcutta. We had a wonderful experience with the food - I had seen some posts about some dishes being salty and this was not the case when we were there. The service seemed very slow to us - by the time the beers arrived we were quite thirsty. The next time I visit I'm going to try some of the tapas dishes and will probably do a thali - this is a combination dinner served in a stainless steel, compartmented cafeteria tray (this type of service is very common in India). Awesome food! This is the healthy side of Indian with wonderful flavors. You have to try the Chicken 65 (spicy) and samosas. You want Thalis here. You select three items as a mix of meat or vegetable dishes. These tend to rotate but the paneer is usually awesome. Keema is great as is the chicken tikka masala. I asked mine to be wrapped with paratha because I love dense and oily bread. (Not selling it well -- I know!) The roll came with mint chutney (refreshing), fried egg, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onions. It tasted alright, but it wasn't memorable or filling. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone, but if someone wanted to try it for the first time, I wouldn't stop him or her. **Goat Curry ($18.95): Stewed with onion, ginger, garlic, and fresh spices in a yogurt gravy, I loved theirs. Mine came with tandoori garlic naan. Speaking of... **Tandoori Garlic Naan ($3.95): This, right here, is one of the reasons why I could never, ever go paleo. Carbs are life. And this flaky and soft masterpiece is what dreams are made of. ***Mango Lassi: Creamy, mango-y, and bleneded with plenty of spices. Absolutely wonderful. III. SERVICE: Very responsive, friendly, and professional. No problems here. IV. AMBIENCE & DECOR: It's industrial, yet cozy. I like how clean the place feels. I've been dying to go to Bhojanic for a long time. I never got around to it and the one time I attempted to order Uber eats from here something went wrong. Then, on a whim, my boyfriend and I decided to go to Bhojanic. I did make reservations but it was a cold Sunday afternoon and I didn't need any. The restaurant was fairly empty but there were still people coming in and out at a pretty regular pace. There was plenty of parking available, however, I don't think this is always the case as there are lots of shops and restaurants around vying for that parking lot. There is free parking in the parking lot. Our waitress, Ashley, was excellent and attentive. For appetizers we got nacho chaat. It was definitely unique and good. I got a drink, I don't member the name of it but I think it was some type of margarita, I didn't think that was great and I wouldn't order it again. For a meal we got a thali, with three meats. It also came with some yogurt and a naan/rice and a roti. We got a side of veggies as well, okra and eggplant. Not a huge fan of eggplant in life, so I didn't really like it but my boyfriend loved it. I would say the chicken tikka and the goat curry are good, on the thali plate. I think the lamb curry was OK but a little over salted- I wouldn't order it again. We got a side of methi paratha and I liked it! The waitress also bought us a small mousse, mango dessert, which I liked! Overall I would give this place four stars. It's very clean and well decorated. So, I work pretty close to this location and I was craving good Indian. Me and a co worker went and dined in for our lunch hour and we pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was a really nice African American girl and she helped us understand the menu and even had a few suggestions for us. So, we ended up doing the 2 meats and 1 veg platter. So I could try The Tikki Masala and the chicken curry and everything ended up being amazing. The curry wasn't too spicy. It was seasoned very well. And every time I come I remember why this place has slid down steadily in my affections. Food is great. Ambience nice. Pricing fair for the area. Menu caters to various dietary restrictions. THE SERVICE HERE IS ABHORRENT. The wait staff mill around the bar and refuse to make any eye contact... getting an order taken is a Herculean effort. Good luck to you if your order comes out wrong. You will literally be ignored or not see your waiter for the next hour. The ladies in the front make it seem like they are doing a favor even acknowledging a customer. You'll do some serious damage dining here, so get ready to break bread literally and figuratively. The food should be an incredible, indescribable mouthfeel for the price of the appetizers and entrees. It's good, but the cost simply isn't justified. The Chicken 65, tamarind & mint chutney and chopped veggies with masala seasoning is a fantastic mixture. You can taste the red chilies in Chicken 65. It's a good spicy. My heat tolerance is low, so I trust most anyone can handle the spice. The chutneys are yummy! The mint chutney is spicy while the tamarind is a bit sweet and tangy; nevertheless, super tasty! I'm not a fan of the Sangria nor Chicken Tikka Masala. I love the veggie samosas especially due to the chutneys. Plus it's a nice crunch, non-greasy, with a savory filling. The naan is fluffy. I think it's too thick but to each her own. It's pretty buttery, but the garlic naan lacked the minced garlic and the garlic flavor. In my humble opinion, the basmati rice isn't very aromatic despite whole bay leaves through it; it reminds me of minute-rice with added peas and carrots. It's like the Chinese fried rice without fry. Bhojanic should be called "slow"janic. When my boyfriend and I walked into the restaurant at about 6 on a Friday night, there was no one there but one other table. We were quickly seated and received water, but after we ordered it took almost 45 minutes to get out food. Other tables before us received their meals and left before ours. By the time our meal came it was room temperature. We got a thali and curry, so we were able to try a lot of flavors; the flavors were okay but not overwhelmingly great. Yet another typical Atlanta instance of.... not bad, but really not worth the double-dollar signs. I wouldn't call Bhojanic "authentic", but it's not trying to be, so it's okay that it's not. However, if we're not going all-out authentic, PLEASE put descriptions on your menu! We had to ask the waitress to give us more time... twice... just so we had time to Google everything on the menu that was unexplained. To be safe, we finally decided to split a dish between the two of us. It was big enough, but didn't have a lot of variety- 85% rice, some chicken and that's it. The flavor was good, but nothing to write home about. We also split one non-alcoholic drink between the two of us: The Spiced Lemonade. I was really excited for this, but it turned out tasting like generic Country Time powdered lemonade with an abundance of cumin in it. Not at all what I wanted or cared to finish. With only one dish and one non-alcoholic beverage, the total was still over $30 after tax, so as Scar would say, BE PREPARED! I loved Bhojanic when it opened in Decatur. The food, especially the chaats and other street food, was fresh and exciting. The restaurant felt contemporary, always trying out something new. I was delighted when it opened in Buckhead and stopped by every few weeks for a meal. More recently, Bhojanic disappoints. Service was always inconsistent. Now the food is inconsistent as well. The specials aren't so special given most appear on the specials menu every day. The chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and lentils were pedestrian. I am certain frozen vegetables were used in the rice. The pickles were far too salty. And it felt as if the kitchen was turning up the heat in the food to make up for its lack of flavor. Bhojanic is still a step above most Indian restaurants but given its slightly higher prices, I expect more. It would benefit from some focused attention. read more

One of my new favorite restaurants in Buckhead. If you're looking for a modern and authentic Indian restaurant, this is it! Everything that I've tried has been superb. I highly recommend the: - chicken tikka masala - garlic naan - chicken 65 (This is not deep fried like the one at Zyka. Bhojanic's is more spicy.) - scallop curry - mango lassi - sweet lassi I am so stoked that I don't have to drive all the way to Decatur for authentic Indian food anymore. read more

Bhojanic is excellent Americanized Indian food. Don't come here if you want something authentic, but appreciate it for what it is. Hardly anything on the menu is spicy and selections are limited to dishes that cater well to someone who is making their entry into Indian cousine. I will be returning here without a question. read more

I personally don't like to base my reviews on the service... but, in this case I may have to a *little* Bhojanic is right next to Lenox Mall - near Lulu Lemon. Not a bad location at all. Esp, if you plan to shop before/after your meal. There are spots available. I come here to shop often during chaotic times and I'm fairly pleased with the availability. We had a table of 5, but when me and my bf went in, it was just us for a few mins. Weird thing is, it wasn't THAT crowded, but we still had to wait to get seated. Not sure if that's just me, but I don't know.. I find it odd. I could tell there were lots of bigger tables open too with no RSVP spots. But whatever! I'm being nit picky. Our hostess looked so confused though. Service - so service wasn't really that great. Food took a lot longer to get & other tables that came after us got theirs fairly quickly. Not sure if it's what we ordered or.. if there was a whoops in the kitchen and had to make new meals... or hm. Our 1 app came out 15 mins after we ordered, but the app was wings. Literally took 1 min for each of us to eat. Afterwards, the food came out way later than expected. Also, when we received our checks, they were all swapped. Wrong items on checks + mispriced. Hm, luckily my friend found the error and corrected it. Maybe I'm being too overbearing on this, but I find it kind of peculiar... that this entire time service was kind off. They weren't even that busy. But our server was super nice & sweet. She fixed things as soon as we said something. Place - When you walk in, you'll smell the delicious food. Like.. I was hungry when we walked in, but my hunger turned on higher when once I smelled the food. Also, I can tell this would be a great date place as well as meet with friends place. Has a neat bar + several 2 man tables. In the middle, there are longer tables for your parties. FOOD! I got the thali tray - one with Chicken Tikka (?) and the Alu (vegetable) - Loved both. Very delicious. On my tray, I had rice, naan, mini salad, white yogurt, and spicy spinach. Everything was great. It's a bit pricey, but I do love good Indian food. One friend got the Lamb Curry with Cauliflower - she said it was amazing as well. Seems like you can't go wrong with the Thali trays! I would def. order one or 2 of these with several different items. We also ordered the wings - so spicy! They also had some green sauce. Nom. I'm a wing girl and these were pretty good. Order these for an app! I forgot what the guys ordered - but it had A LOT of rice, as in .. literally a bowl of rice + chicken and mini plates of side items. I think Chicken Pandoora with rice? Overall - try the thali trays for sure + the wings. :) Oh and I wish Yelp had a 3.5 score.. that's what I'd give. read more

I was really excited to try the food here after reading numerous articles online stating that Bhojanic totes the best Indian food in Atlanta. Unfortunately I left severely disappointed. I ordered a thali with chicken tikka masala as my meat option and saag panner as my vegetable. These came accompanied with salad, raita and rice. The rice was so, so, a little clumpy and in need of some salt. The chicken tikka masala was just awful; bland and watery in taste instead of rich and creamy. Also seeing as they only offer a few curries I found it a huge slight that a commonly popular dish was executed so poorly. In contrast the saag paneer was quite tasty, although the paneer chunks were very small (half the size you get at most other restaurants) and thus they were lost amid the spinach. The naan we ordered was really good though, thick, yet light and soft. The decor of the restaurant is clean, modern and trendy which is a plus but ultimately this doesn't make up for the poor food. read more

One word comes to mind when I think of Bhojanic in terms of Indian food - refreshing. This does not mean that the food is not spicy. Probably not spicy to the standards of those who eat Indian food every day, but spicier than a lot of other Indian places. Bhojanic's philosophy is to cook the food as if it were part of a home cooked meal. There is a large emphasis on less oil. I can taste the difference between Bhojanic and the many Indian restaurants I have gone to. I can't attest to if this is truly "home cooked" style, but the food is a lot lighter than what I've eaten at other places. For dinner, I ordered a thali with chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, and a bharta dish. Everything was light and tasty. The vegetables tasted fresh. I could even tell the difference in the rice and the chapati. The food felt healthier without sacrificing flavor. I'm pretty happy that out of all the Indian restaurants in Atlanta, this is the one that is walking distance from my apartment. read more

I've eaten at a lot of Indo-Paki restaurants in Georgia. In terms of Indian food, Bhojanic definitely sits in the middle. I visited the original location in Decatur a while back and had the same average experience, however, I do feel that service has improved a great deal. The Goat Curry is pretty fantastic and so is the Naan Bread, though not the best that I've had. I feel that Bhojanic elevates Indian food when it comes to atmosphere and presentation and would be an excellent choice for a casual date or a business meeting. Still, the first place I'd go to for my Indian fix ITP would be Zyka, with dishes that are less than half the price of Bhojanic!! Around 7 pm, the restaurant provides live music, which is a nice touch and adds a bit of elegance to the place. You'd think you were in a New American rather than an Indian restaurant with a full bar in front of you, dim lighting over wooden tables and fabric cushions, and jazz playing in the background. Having a large parking lot is convenient, but finding a spot depends on the day and time, since it's located in the shopping plaza (Around Lenox Shops) across from Neiman Marcus. Bhojanic is nestled in between Roots Juices and Crate & Barrel/lululemon. They have an outdoor patio in front of the restaurant with orange tables and chairs; you can't miss it! read more

Considering majority of Indian restaurants in Atlanta, fare below average (food quality, hygiene & ambiance aspect), Bhojanic sure comes across as a pleasant surprise. Serving home style Indian food (specifically north-indian food), it's not just about quality but more importantly about authenticity. Menu & Food: Menu comprises small appetizer plates, parathas (stuffed flatbread), street food like chat & kathi rolls (Indian flatbread wraps), entrees (curry with choice of veg/ protiens), salads, bread choices (e.g. roti, naan), rice dish (e.g. pulao, biryani) & thalis (various dishes served on a platter). Price: I feel, the prices are slightly towards the steeper side especially the entrees. Over a weekday dinner, my husband & I tried the following items: 1. Mango chili chicken wings($8.95): This was more of a fusion appetizer with a twist on the classic chicken wings using subtle Indian spices. I loved it. The wings were juicy and the spices/sauce were delicately balanced. Definitely an enjoyable appetizer! 2. Samosa: I got a free Samosa (savory pastry stuffed with spiced potatoes & peas) with Yelp check-in. The samosa with tamarind and green chutney was pretty good. 3. Thali: Thali refers to various dishes served with rice, roti, salad, papad (crispy crackers) on a platter. Bhojanic has 4-5 thali choices depending on the number and type of veg/meat items selected. I ordered 2 types of thalis: 3a. Shakhahari Thali (3 veg entrees- $13.95): For vegetarian entrees, I chose saag paneer (cottage cheese in spinach gravy), chhole (garbanzo beans curry) and kadi pakoda (fritters in yogurt and chickpea flour sauce) 3b. Non-vegetarian Thali (2 meat + 1 veg platter- $15.95**+extra charge for goat curry) For meat, I chose goat curry and chicken tikka masala and for veg entree, alu gobi (sauteed cauliflower and potatoes tempered in spices). Each and every item on the thali was delicious. Most importantly, it felt fresh and authentic. Unlike most Indian restaurants in Atlanta where they use the same (sometimes even stale) sauce/gravy irrespective of the dish and simply substitute with veg/meat choices, what I particularly liked here was the style of cooking; i.e. meat or veggies slowly cooked in a specific spice/curry base thus the flavor of meat standing out and imparting a characteristic taste to the dish. Also all dishes are cooked in a home style fashion, thus the use of oil/clarified butter was as required only and not like a layer of fat floating over your dish (as the case in many Indian restaurants). The goat curry was excellent and I definitely recommend it. The meat was tender and juicy, the use of spices were just right and the gravy was flavorful. Similarly, the chicken tikka masala was delectable, with the chicken baked/grilled to perfection in oven/tandoor. All of the vegetarian dishes were simple, light yet flavorful. The accompanying sides like rice, salad were fresh and particularly the roti was fresh, soft and fluffy. 4. Mango Lassi($4.95): A blend of mango and yogurt smoothie, the lassi was fresh, flavorsome with a nice balance of sweetness. Ambiance: The decor is a fusion of modern and traditional with a casual vibe. The atmosphere is relaxing yet lively owing to surrounding Lenox area. They have indoor and outdoor seating area with a capacity of around 25 tables overall for small & large parties. There is a separate bar area too. Service: The service was slightly sluggish and although there seemed to be enough waiting staff, it took more time than the anticipated wait time to get order to the table. Further, the waiting staff did not check on us as much as they should when there is a delay in serving food. I feel this aspect certainly needs some improvement. Parking: Ample parking space available around Lenox and allocated parking spots for Bhojanic Overall, I am impressed with the quality of food at Bhojanic. The flavors are authentic, food is simple, fresh and it certainly offers what it claims; i.e home-style cooking. Service needs improvement though. My wife turned me on to Indian food at this restaurant. It's outstanding. When we go, I typically order a thale (pronounced tah'-lee). It looks like a silver grade-school style lunch tray, but it's essentially a customizable dinner combo, with a few meat and vegetarian (and vegan) options to choose from. The chicken tikka masala is my go-to, although the lamb curry and chicken biryani are also solid choices. The service here is usually attentive, but always friendly. There's a bar inside as well, with a small but decent beer selection. We go here often and will continue as long as this place is around. read more

I visited this place on a Friday evening with my family and unfortunately the service was slow as a snail and highly ineffecient. We ordered our drinks which came after 20 min and 2 reminders later. Appetizers took more than 45 min to get to our table! We ordered the Bhojanic Pakora platter and I liked it. It was a combined onion, cauliflower, and potato Pakora. The chutneys served with them were very well made. Paneer 65 had a lot of artifical color on them, but the 'tadka' and masalas on it were fine. The restaurant was running probably at 30-40% capacity and that's what boggled me about the slow service. We ordered 2 Thalis with 3 curries and one is more than enough for 2 people, or maybe 2 Thalis amongst 3-4 people. Saag paneer, dal makhani, bhindi masala, baingan bharta were nice. My favorite was punjabi Pakora curry. The chilli paneer curry was just terrible. It tasted like paneer on a tomato sauce!!! The ambience of the place was interesting with nice lighting and decor. Although, our server was apologetic and messed up not only on our table order, but the table right next to us, untimely service, I would say I would want to give this place another chance for the service. Looking for something different to try, my adventurous palate led me to a rather contemporary Indian cuisine, Bhojanic. In contrast to the traditional Indian meals you would encounter at most places, the restaurant attempts to switch things up. In my opinion, the food is a bit overpriced while the service does little to redeem. Upon arrival, an uptight hostess hastily dealt with us and showed us our seat. The decor aims for a simple elegance which merely strikes as tacky, raw, and unfinished (Concrete floors, unfinished ceilings, etc.) To be fair, the creative splash found here is right in line with the neighboring shops in its plaza. The menu is a simple one-pager consisting of kathi rolls, thalis, curries, and "tapas" appetizers. The thali's a terrific option to sample several different items (non-veg and veg). - our favorites were the chole and saag paneer. The turkey kathi roll is delicious and comes loaded with fully spiced turkey kebabs. Among all others, the goat curry was easily the table favorite: tenderly sliced goat pieces cooked in a savory curry and served with basmati rice. Our waiter was pleasant and did what she could to help us navigate through the menu. I would have liked to see her check up on us a few more times and have made a stronger effort to ensure our satisfaction. The indifferent hostess passively murmured a goodbye on our way out - perhaps a customer communication training would suit her well. Got the chole tots and samosas for $13 at Shaky Knees this past weekend and I liked it. The price was pretty fair for the amount of food that came, and the quality was excellent. The sauce that comes with the samosas was damn tasty. They're just unbelievably slow.. they need a better system in place. Of the food I had at Shaky Knees, Bbojanic was definitely the best. read more
