    Food Games and fun!
    Tanya B.

Triton Yards has been our outlet to get out of the house , enjoy outside, good food, games, and music while practicing social distancing. Located in Atlanta come out here and you'll see a variety of food trucks and other vendors. On this day we enjoyed refreshing slushes and hot funnel cake all very delicious. It can get kinda crowded around 5pm so I suggest coming early to avoid lines and crowds. We decided to come in the afternoon when it's just opening and not crowded. I've been a few times and it's been different food trucks and vendors for me thus far. I also try to go during the week. Overall great prices, good food, and awesome fun! Check out a few of my pics...

We parked next door at the gas station and walked to the park. There was no parking fee or entrance fee. We made it there about 9 and there were about 5 vendors and many tables to sit and enjoy your food. There was also music playing. Slutty vegan seemed to be the only vendor with a line. When I'm talking line, I'm talking L-I-N-E!!!! As we were waiting, we ended up getting a spiked lemonade from one of the vendors and it wasn't spiked much. Lol After standing in line for 2 hours we're getting closer to the front, and then we hear "We're sold out."

Atlanta is better off for having food trucks (and this park, specifically). Despite the cloudy, on-and-off drizzly weather, the park had a good turnout of patrons between 7-9pm on a Thursday night. Thanks to those who braved the elements for our UYE (http://www.yelp.com/events/atlanta-atlanta-food-truck-park-uye). The food truck/food stand lineup was pretty good: Sweet Auburn BBQ Corn-a-Cue One Love Jerk Grill Metro City Dogs Lemonade Stand WOW! Food Truck Ibiza Bites Chay J's New Orleans Candies Rouxd Food Truck King of Pops Yum Yum Cupcake Verizon also had a stand. I've been following the park's official calendar (http://www.atlantafoodtruckpark.com/calendar/) over the past month and noticed Thursday nights are the ideal weeknight (excluding Fridays) to go for the most trucks and the best selection. I suspect there might have been more trucks last night if it wasn't for the weather. I ended up trying a little bit of everything: Arepas (Venezuelan sliders) from WOW! Food Truck Beef brisket with Asian pear slaw taco from Sweet Auburn BBQ Goat cheese-stuffed fried green tomatoes from Ibiza Bites Creole pretzels and Creole popcorn from Chay J's I'll be posting reviews for each of those trucks in the next few days. If you come for dinner, I recommend coming on the early side as the food trucks only have a limited supply of items and do sell out. This leads some trucks to close early. I saw many menus with marked off items that had sold out for the day. Yum Yum Cupcakes shut down early because they sold out of their cupcakes for the day. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much seating the park had. I counted 16 large picnic tables in the main "dining" area, most with umbrellas. Each picnic table can seat up to about 8 people each. The picnic tables are located on a flat, paved surface. The food trucks are located in a large gravel lot. This lot has 4 communal standing tables and 2 additional picnic tables. So overall, this spot has quite a bit of seating, which is convenient. Also, plenty of trash cans and recycling bins to keep the grounds looking relatively clean. The park is family and dog-friendly. It can be a little loud because you're around all these big trucks and next to busy Howell Mill Rd. You can BYOB, so save money by bringing your own drinks. If you want water, I saw some trucks selling it for $1 per bottle. There is one restroom and it's a "Johnny on the Spot" porta-potty in the parking lot with portable sink outside so you can wash your hands. There is ample free parking behind the park. Turn onto Emery St, next to the Shell Station on Howell Mill, to find it. If you need more detailed directions, check out the park's FAQ here: http://www.atlantafoodtruckpark.com/faqs/. The parking lot is old and filled with pot holes, so drive carefully. I saw someone puncture their car's tire by running over a broken-off metal sign post on the ground (she was trying to make too tight of a turn around the dining area). Note that every Wednesday and Friday night throughout the summer, the park will be playing movies for free. Also, from time to time, there is live music. On the weekends, there's a food market with rotating vendors and an artists market coming soon. Overall, I'm very happy with the Atlanta Food Truck Park and definitely plan on returning.

Here it was all about enjoying nice craft beers, specialty cocktails, local arts, crafts, and live music. It is free to attend. It was held in Grant Park which is a large public greenspace in Atlanta. It's address is 800 Cherokee Ave. It is just south of Oakland Cemetery. As with all public festivals in Atlanta, alternate transportation is recommended because parking is limited. Uber or Lyft are good ideas. So is biking, or walking in on the Beltline. I had a $25 gift card from Yelp which I won on Instagram. I redeemed it at the entrance at information center. Thanks to Jim how helped me at the desk. Thanks to Yelp in giving me an opportunity to explore this beautiful place. If you're craving something fresh, healthy, and delicious, you'll have to try some of their award-winning soba noodles at Island Noodles Atlanta. I love their unique style, taste and presentation. There were food purveyors from across the southeast. They had everything for vegetarians and carnivores alike. There were about 50+ trucks in the park. I would be back again next year.

Thanks, Grant Park Food-o-Rama! Several great things about this event - pre-sale tickets were only $5 (yes, there was a small admin fee), tickets were mobile, so I didn't need to waste paper, the trucks were not cash only - they operated as usually and had credit card capabilities. Also, they were well placed within the park and the lines were not out of control. By my estimation, there were probably about 40 food trucks - with about 7 or so being dessert trucks (who were placed together) and there was such a wide variety of trucks, it was very hard to decide what I wanted to get. From hot dogs, to lobster rolls (two lobster trucks, in fact), to filipino food, to french fries, to crepes, to cheesesteaks, to donuts and everything in between. We were lacking for nothing! There was live music, some vendor booths and plenty of park area to bring a blanket and sit and eat and enjoy the atmosphere. It was 9 hours of food, fun and more food. I cannot wait for this event next year - let's hope the weather is as amazing next hear as it was this year. Thanks, Grant Park Conservancy and Indie South Fair!

It's held at Taylor-Brawner Park off Atlanta Rd, which is a great location to spread out, have a mini picnic, and enjoy! The ambiance is family, community, and definitely giving summer! There's a playground for the kids, live music by local performers, and there are bathrooms with changing tables if you have littles that require them. It does get hot since this is Atlanta in the summer so prepare accordingly. The food trucks are mostly a variety yet there have been times when some of the trucks offered the same types of food (fries, tenders, burgers/sandwiches) which can be a buzz kill, so I would recommend going on the City of Smyrna government page on Facebook to see which trucks would be in attendance that day to avoid disappointment. There are some trucks that are there each Tuesday with the King of Pops being one of them. And they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. Ding ding! Most of the vendors accept cards so having a mix of cash and cards is better but not required. Again, I love it and so does my family since there's something for everyone to enjoy! Attend, you won't be disappointed!

I arrived around 6:45pm and had no problem finding parking. The event is well organized and there are staff that direct you to open parking spaces. You know this is not in the city because there is no fee to park!! You heard me correctly-- FREE PARKING!! The crowd was a great mix, families with kids, couples, friends and tons of fur babies! There is not really any specific organized activity, but be creative. Some people had hammocks set up, balls to play kick ball with and some were just sitting or standing around talking. It's all about what you make it There were a ton of food truck options. I was overwhelmed, but did finally decided to try the Blaxican Food truck. I ordered the collard green quesadilla. The greens were seasoned with turkey meat and had a hint of spiciness to them. I enjoyed every bite of my order! I also had the infamous sesame fries from another truck. I can't recall the name of that truck, but if you see sesame fries on the menu order them. They are only $4.00 and will worth each dollar! Of course I had to have desert. I tried the praline pecan pie from the New Orleans themed truck! Oh my gosh, it is divine!!! If you are up for being around people, eating good, enjoying the beautiful weather, this is the spot to go on a Tuesday evening!
