There was very little communication with my stylist and so I was somewhat shocked at the end. Luckily, I was able to find someone immediately to help me with this task-I was at the point of cutting off my own hair to accomplish. Luckily, Young was available and cut my hair nicely with a great style. I have white-gray hair at my temples and Young worked her magic to cover up my gray while growing out my hair naturally! She's amazing and I left with self confidence and a happy new hairstyle. I was even indulged with a relaxing, massage, neck massage and luxurious hair shampoo by the sweet guy that specializes in scalp treatment! He provided great advice on what shampoos to use and products for sensitive scalps!! I tipped him because this was a high end perk at a budget shop. I had a memorable and Amazing time at Pika, pika and will return. I highly recommend Pika, pika hair, they're great, and fit me in to prevent me from chopping off my locks. I was especially disappointed with the scissor work and overall technique. Clippers were used on the back of my hair, which I initially assumed was part of creating some shape, but there really wasn't any layering or noticeable effort to add movement or texture. The end result felt more like a basic cut than a thoughtfully shaped haircut. Considering the owner has been cutting hair for some time, I expected a stronger understanding of basic scissor techniques and layering. In my experience, the skill level just wasn't there for the type of cut I was requesting. Ultimately, you get what you pay for, and unfortunately I left disappointed.

Jenny was so throughout and professional. She evaluated my hair and gave me step by step procedure how she would fix it and bring it to where I would want it. I didn't expect to make it happen in one try (the before picture would explain why) - but she made it happen !!!! And she always inform you before she goes into the next step. We spent 7hrs and the result is amazing. After all that my hair still healthy, smooth and shiny. Now the second time is where it all went south. I told her beforehand that my hair has been bleached before and I went dark 5 months prior to this appointment. Knowing that, she proceeded to bleach my hair and assured me that she could do it. It just wouldn't be as light as it was originally. Before coming to the salon, I had long hair and by the end of it, 3/4 of my hair was burned off and different lengths. I didn't realize it at the time because she curled my hair and I assumed some hair fall out was normal. The next day I was livid and asked for a refund and she did indeed give it back. I had to go to another salon to get a haircut so my hair could at least be the same length. I didn't realize the extent of how bad it was until the hairstylist told me in order for my hair to be the same length, I would have to get a bob! Please see before photo attached for how long my hair was before if you want to get a picture of how much of my hair burned off and she still had me pay that day.. If you want bleached hair, do NOT go to her. She doesn't understand color and doesn't care about hair integrity. It took an extreme hit to my self confidence because my hair was two toned, choppy, and so damaged. If she cared about the integrity of my hair she should have did a test strand because I would never have let her put bleach on my hair if I knew it was going to break off. If you ask me, she should have her license taken away.

I tried a few high end places downtown and just wasn't impressed... Then Ann was highly recommended by a coworker's friend and wow I got lucky! She does the best job I've had in many many years and I assure you I'm very picky about my straight hair. The style I get is long enough on the top so I can style it up and back with a short blend on the back & sides. She takes her time to get it perfect every time. She doesn't rush a single step and I simply love it. She gives me that boost of confidence to rock speaking engagements and work meetings. Her prices are solid too.
