If you just need a simple cut, this place is usually fine. The good hair stylists don't seem to stay long. You have to ask for the senior discount even if it's obvious you're a senior. They charge extra for bobs of various types - ask before you commit. In fact, lately it seems like there's extra charges sneaking in but I guess that's happening everywhere. read more

I just had a great cut here by Lisa. I normally spend two to three times as much on a shampoo and cut elsewhere, and Lisa did just as fantastic a job at a lower cost. The person at the counter hit OK without letting me opt of sharing my data, and now I'm getting unwanted texts on my personal phone from 3rd parties. And then when we reminded her we had a 11:30 appointment, she says "Oh well, appointments don't really mean anything!" Extremely unprofessional and obviously with no regard for a long time customer! We have been customers at this location ever since they have opened but this experience makes us feel like our time does not matter! It was great when Kimberly was the manager here but with people like Renee working here, I would suggest finding another Supercuts where there will be actual regard for a paying customer. read more

After I couldn't get into my usual salon I booked an appointment with Supercuts and got Ross as a stylist. Let me say that I have found a new salon and a new stylist! Ross not only gave me one of the best cuts I've had in a very long time, half way through I asked if he could squeeze in an eyebrow wax and he made that happen gladly! I will be going back to Ross for my twice monthly cuts abd highly recommend him! read more

(FYI, my HUSBAND wrote this review from our laptop, not realizing that I was logged into Yelp.) today i decided to get a haircut and went to this supercuts and was told i was third in line. I noticed that the female owner was there with two other women and one was her mother from what i gathered. After waiting an hour and a half i noticed that the owner was bumping her family in front of the customers as i noticed at least three people got served in front of me including the owners family. the owner asked if i had been helped (knowing that i had be waiting for at least an hour and a half). At that point i had enough and told her that i had better things to do than wait all day to get a haircut, with a smug attitude told me sorry about that. that was it for me and I left. I normally spend $24.99 on a mens cut there and leave a $5 buck tip but no more and drove to another place and was finished and out the door in 15 minutes for $14 bucks and got a good h or better haircut for half the price. if you want to spend double the amount and get crappy customer service than this is the place to go. read more

My daughter wanted a haircut and we needed to go somewhere close, so we ended up here. It had recently opened and is in the same shopping center as Einstein Bagels and Chipotle (which has not yet opened). While I was waiting for my daughter, the owner Rhonda, came up to me and introduced herself. She is very sweet and personable. I like the fact that she is a Murphy resident herself. She introduced herself to every customer that walked in the door and gave the same warm welcome I received. My daughter was very happy with her trim and layers. Her stylist, Taylar, took her time on her hair and made sure she was happy with her cut. They gave her free product samples to try out. Came to know from my wife... humans do make mistakes. ... but if the same mistake repeated again... then what? And the climax is they keep charging you for their blunders every time. Asked my wife not to come here again...never again .. Charged $80 for coloring the hair, left grey hair and charged again $40 to color the grey hair... Total $120 ... this was for the second time . Went here once because my normal stylist was out of town and I received a coupon in the mail for a haircut. Worse mistake I ever made. My hair was not cut evenly at all. It looked like a kid took scissors and cut straight through it only it wasn't straight. I didn't want to risk going back so I waited about two weeks for my stylist to return to fix the damage. Obviously I'm not trying to say that Supercuts is a five-star Hair Salon, but what I am saying is that knowing that this is a less expensive hair care option, I definitely rate this one five stars. I brought my 12-year-old son (a few weeks later, but) after a really bad haircut from a different low and Hair Salon. I thought that Supercuts would probably be about the same experience and we were probably going to get another bad haircut here that we would have to deal. Awesome people running this store. We called ahead to be one of their last appointments for the day. Very short wait before our turn. Ross talked with me to get an idea of what we wanted and was great with my daughter - staying almost an hour after closing to take care of her. Daughter was very happy with her cut. We have been letting my son's hair grow out for a long time and just needed a slight "trim". Figured since w just needed a very minor trim that we could take him to Supercuts. My husband took him there and asked the lady to give a tiny trim. When my son came home and walked through the front door, I was immediately shocked at what the lady did. His bangs were cut to the middle of his forehead and crooked - looked like she got scissors and cut across forehead but was crooked/slanted (it was down to his eyes before). His right side was cut short to the middle of his ears, his left side was cut to the edge of bottom of his ears and the back was cut straight across and then layered so short to the top. He pretty much had 3 steps of uneven hair. I don't know how a hair salon can let a hairdresser cut people's hair when it was so obvious that everything was uneven. When I called they asked me to bring him in - I saw the manager and she was very nice and showed her everything I was talking about. She touched up the bangs a little bit and the left side of ear to match the right, but I did not want anything else done to his hair since he was so messed up already. It's only hair, but what is frustrating is when you ask for a slight trim, that is what you should get. It looks like he just took a pair of scissors and start chopping off his own hair. Now we pretty much just need to chop it all off. The manager gave me our money back, but even if I got free haircuts for a lifetime, I would not go back to that lady or establishment if they let anyone cut hair. When I was waiting for the manager to look at his hair, a little girl that just got her hair "trimmed" from the same lady told her mom "I just wanted a trim and she cut off too much and it's short"... hearing that made me even more frustrated.... read more

This place is great. I used to go to a person who lived in Murphy and charged 5 dollars for her haircut at home. This place is much better. The lady who cut my hair took a long time and laid attention to detail. She made sure it looked fresh and clean cut and cut it based on what i said. The man here is also very good. He cut a nice taper and paid lots of attention to detail. They both take 30 min at least to ensure a good haircut. They also were very nice and talkative and gave us free product samples. read more

My normal stylist was on vacation so I stopped by Supercuts for a quick trim...thinking what could go wrong?? I took a chance thinking what I asked for would be easy enough for even the least experience can do, right?. My hair is/was very long and very straight. My hair went down to the small of my back right above my butt. I just wanted to have 2 inches cut off from the bottom and then long layers starting at half point downwards (my hair was already styled this way, just needed it trimmed up). My stylist was a young person who told me she only had 1yr experience while she was cutting - that scared me but again I thought what could go wrong. I told her I'm keeping the length for a wedding that I'm attending in December. She was chopping willy nilly and didn't seem nervous cutting my hair. There was a guy getting his hair cut done by the manager 20 minutes before I got to sit in a chair. My girl finished my hair before the guy was even done. My hair was still wet. She didn't even blow dry it to see if she did a good job or not. I went home and blew my hair out. Not even 15 mins later, I called and went back to get it fixed. The girl took the length of the longest layer on one side of my head out so there is no way to fix it or blend it in. If you tried to layer it back it, you can't. I had a lot of hair to work with so if things did go wrong, I still had hair to fix it. But when you cut the length out of the longest layer, you are screwed. I AM SCREWED. Her manager, Cynthia, had to try to fix my hair. She was verbally teaching the girl, you can't do this, you have to do this. She sounded like she knew what she was doing. The manager took awhile to fix the one-sided "length" problem. Then we took a look at it. After her cut job, my hair that was in a "V" shape from the back view looked really really bad (i.e. http://www.hairstylestars.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/long-hairstyles-V-shape-back.jpg?3f8387). She then said to me, the "V" is "tripping her up" - she does not know how to fix that. She didn't know what to do! At this point, I was very frustrated, so I said to just make the "V" straight instead of "V". There was some room to make it straight and still keep some length. She ended up cutting all my hair off and my hair ended up above mid back length. If you measured what I had at the beginning to what I ended up with, they took a whole 12 inches off my hair. Had I known that I will be taking that much hair off that day, I could have opted to DONATE my hair to Locks of Love cancer patients. How can you mess up 12 inches of hair? I will never know. But, I know I will NEVER go to a Supercut again. read more
