Janette was AWESOME! I went online to book an appt. and saw she was 2+ weeks out, but my roots were showing badly and I have a job interview this week. I have to say, I've been searching for someone who can handle my blonde part curly, part frizzy, since I've been in Az! To tell you the truth, I've tried high end to groupons for a couple of years now. After reading Janette's experience, I had to check it out. Besides, I was going drastically different than what I've had in the past, so a little hesitant to say he least. I had sent Janette a couple of pics that I was interested in and she didn't jump through the phone and say "oh yeah, I can do that and it will be perfect on you!" She explained why we had to do this in 2 steps since I was super curly and would hate it when I couldn't straighten the little hair that would be left if we went that short right away. I have always had super curly, dry frizzy hair and have never been able to find a good way to manage it. I went to Janette looking for the best advice for a solution to my unhealthy hair and she suggested a Brazilian blowout. It was the best hair decision I have ever made! Finally my hair is soft and smooth just the way I've always wanted it to be. Normally after being washed it is a long process to dry and style my hair to just get it to look ok. Now I just washed my hair with the Brazilian blowout shampoo and conditioner, and used the sealer (all which were included in the service price) and my hair is soft with just a little wave. I was wanting some change with my hair as it's starting to get closer to summer, so when I saw the groupon for highlights and a haircut at Wicked Pixie I decided to try it out. It was my first time going there, but I made an appointment with Janette and she was very friendly. When I went in she listened to everything I wanted and looked at pictures I had brought from Pinterest. She only trimmed two inches like I had wanted her to since I was wanting to keep my hair long, and she gave me beautiful ombré highlights. She took her time and made sure everything looked good. When I got home I found one spot where the color hadn't lifted- she had given me a nice follow up text so I sent her a picture of the spot I found. I'm completely hesitant to go to hair salons- I've had so many bad experiences in the past and it seems a waste to spend so much time and energy on something if you really don't love it. I looked at the reviews for Janette and was impressed, not only that but I found a groupon so I thought I would give her a try and see how I liked it. I also picked her because her hours are super flexible which is what I need working M-F 7am-6pm. Making appointments was super easy-I called but she didn't answer but the answering machine said to shoot her a text. She replied a couple hours later, so it was nice we didn't have to play phone tag. I was a little early on the appointment day because traffic from work wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but she was ready and we were able to get started early. She listened to what I want, gave advice and started. She was easy and fun to talk to- another issue I frequently encounter at hair salons is feeling forced conversation, but I didn't feel that here. Janette was very helpful and I got what I wanted which was natural looking blonde highlights. Very pleased and comfortable with her, so rebooked a touch up before I left. For the first time in over 20 years, I can honestly say I LOVE MY HAIR, I love the feel, the color and the styling options. It took me 10 years to find a stylist in the Valley. I just love her as a stylist and a person. She has impeccable taste, she is honest and truly has her client's interest at heart. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and will recommend realistic options that will work for your hair type, color, age, etc. She is also very clear on expectations (some looks may require multiple sessions to process appropriately). Megan is so amazing and I love what she did with my hair. I came to her with an idea and she made it even better than I could have predicted. I have been blonde my entire life and today we went from blonde sombre to dark red hair and I have received so many compliments from everyone and zero negatives. She also took time to talk to me and see what I was really looking for and made me feel welcomed and comfortable like I was a friend and I love how personable she was even when Janette came in she made me feel like I was a regular. I had my first appointment with Janette last night at Wicked Pixie! I called and left a message, and Janette called me back quickly to schedule my appointment. She is very flexible and scheduled me for the next afternoon. As a breastfeeding mother to a newborn, it's pretty difficult to find a salon and stylist that will accommodate me. She made me feel very comfortable and welcomed! I've been a highlighted blonde for a long time, and she got the color spot on! She spent over 3 hours perfecting my color and cut. I felt like she really took her time, unlike some of the other stylist I've visited in the valley. My experiences here in the valley have never led me to set up my next appointment, but with Janette I've already scheduled my next appointment. Her prices are extremely affordable.
