my miniature poodle had to have surgeries back to back, which made her overgrown and matted. I dropped her off and let her know that I understood if she had to shave her down because of Jim mess that she was. When I picked her up, I couldn't believe that she was able to cut her and she looked beautiful. She took the extra time to get rid of the mats. I was so frustrated with my dogs funky fur after this quarantine and my last groomer messed up so bad the last time and then proceeded to argue with ME that I was wrong, it was time for another groomer. I was hesitant after some of the negative reviews but omg I'm so glad I came to Bertha's! She was in constant contact with me, honest, friendly, and professional. No hidden fees. I thought they had flees and was ready to pay for the de-fleeing. She said it was allergy season and to wait. If there were flees she'd take a video before using the special shampoo and all that. Turned out she was right! I wanted her to just shave them both all the way down from head to paws to just start over, but she talked me down from my grooming ledge and gave me back 2 dogs that look like show dogs!!! I now regret not taking a before picture. I'm so glad she noticed my frustration and made suggestions before I forced her to just shave them down. I love Bertha I started coming to her about two years ago when my other groomer decided to be a stay at home mom. I tried one other local place before and although the cut was good my dog was sore and achy like they held him down and were rough. I cried for a week and considered taking dog grooming classes to do my little guys grooming myself. My mom goes to the professional hair supply next door and noticed Bertha's grooming. I would give Bhappy Pets a four or five-star review except for one thing.......I started going there a year ago. I appreciated the fact that she was able to get me in right away to groom my dog. She was fast and her prices were reasonable. But every time I have gone there, there is a German Shepherd that is there in a big cage right up front. I am not sure if the dog is hers or someone who works there, but the dog is there every time I have gone there. And he just barks incessantly. Not only is it loud and annoying, it terrifies my dog. And she does not do anything to stop the dog. One time I went in (I had a scheduled appt.) and the glass door was open and there was just a screen door and the dog was not in the cage. It jumped up at the door when I walked up and was barking like a lunatic. There was no one in the store. Another gentleman and I stood there waiting for about ten minutes (I sat in my car because I was afraid the dog was going to jump through the screen door and my poor dog was terrified). The owner finally pulled up and said she had to run out quickly. I was a bit shocked that she would allow that dog to run free in the store like that with no one there and the door opened. I will continue to go there because it is really close to my home and I want to stress that I think that she does a great job but I REALLY, REALLY wish that that dog was not there or she trained it to be quieter. read more
