My boys got a basic burger built to their specifications. Child #1 is vegetarian and lucky for him, they do offer Beyond Burger patties as an option. I opted for the fried chicken sandwich, which wasn't too bad. Crispy coating, but I felt the chicken was a tad dry. Fortunately they had a nice sauce to compliment it. The fries were average. You can opt for a variety of dipping sauces, which is a nice touch. The service is as fast as possible for made-to-order and the prices are okay. If you're in the market and want a burger (or cheesesteak, BLT, chicken sandwich, etc.), this is a decent place to stop in.

I addressed the issue with one of the workers or possible bar back who said that he would send someone out to speak with me. We waited about 15 minutes and no one came. I decided to go in and the general manager Dan came to speak with me. I felt very dismissed, he expressed that the rock probably came from the potato, honestly I was understanding that things like this happen as I also work in service. It was the way he responded to me, as he said "ok and what do you want me to do about it" there was no apologies or I'm sorry this happened. I wasn't asking for him to comp my entire meal, but the least he could have done was apologize and or discount the meal or one beverage. I mainly addressed this issue to make them aware, and I honestly wouldn't have written this review if Dan the general manager was one, polite and two the least bit apologetic. I walked out feeling dismissed and irritated. Better sub your fries for salad unless you would like an unexpected trip to the dentist.

Cross Street is one of my favorite markets in the city (probably behind Lexington), and I randomly stopped at Southside not really knowing what food I had a taste for. I ordered a double cheeseburger (customized my way), and fries, and my total was about $15. I think that's fairly average these days, on top... it was actually good. Like there was a ACTUAL cheese pull when you bit into the burger. It was HOT and fresh when I took the wrapper off my burger; just overall, gave an actual grill taste. As other reviews stated, the business provides plastic, paper, and overall disposable utensils and plates and when I'm back at Cross Street, I know exactly where I'm going to get a burger, a beer - and probably some onion rings now, now that I know they're a fan favorite!

They have ample seating and restrooms and the staff at Southside Burger were really friendly. The wings were fine, but I really loved the onion rings and the simple cheeseburger. Everything is plastic and paper plates all disposable because it's a food hall so it's a very casual, as you go environment I was surprised to see so many families. Please avoid supporting larger chains and support local this year, I would definitely come back for a burger and onion rings! It's hard to find good onion rings!
