This is a little late, but Betty's was absolutely outstanding! I have severe food allergies,…read moreincluding dairy, eggs, and gluten, and the only breakfast I ever get to eat is the one I make for myself at home. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.

The vibe is so right, in fact this restaurant has a personality of its own, which matches its amazing eclectic selection of delicious foods. On beautiful sunny Spring, Summer or Autumn days you can enjoy the neighborhood on the patio or you can always choose to dine in one of their several comfortable dining rooms all of which feature art (Some of which you can purchase ) that will get you leaving your seat for a closer look. We were rewarded with two truly special brunch items ... a layered "French toast" that I stared at as a diner near me ate hers and an orange infused pair of delicious waffles. They were perfect and filling (This ended up as our only meal on this beautiful Sunday.). The quality of service matched the food ... we lingered soaking in the atmosphere just enjoying life at Betty's. When asked by neighbors where we went for brunch we said "Betty's" and they smiled knowingly. Once you're familiar with Betty's you've found a friend.

We were waiting at their door at 4 pm so we were unsurprisingly the only people in the dining room…read moreat first. Our server was very engaging and I liked the large bold wall art. The music was a mix of French and English jazzy music. We stared with a bread basket ($6) and it was cold in the center, probably related to our very early arrival. The wine list had plenty of good choices at normal 10-13 dollar per glass prices. My mushroom pappardelle with chicken was beautiful and a large serving. If we weren't traveling I could have taken home a lunch portion easily. My dining partner had salmon salad and he was deeply pleased with his choice. The salmon looked great and he praised the light hand dressing the salad and loved the well balanced maple flavor. Deserts were both very well done. My flourless chocolate cake was dense, dark and served with a powerful raspberry reduction. The other desert was an apricot cake which was very similar to a sticky toffee pudding with a gentle fruity tang. Really good. Overall I enjoyed our meal here a lot but I could imagine an even better experience. Rather than the very large entrees offered A la carte, I would have enjoyed a more manageable serving of pasta and a side salad or a cup of soup. There were multiple fruit and house flies around where we sat which was unfortunate. For what I think is edging into fine dining. I think the value factor here was ok. Our dinner for 2 with bread, 1 glass of wine each and 2 deserts totaled about 125 with tax before tip.

I wanted to love my fig/prosciutto/balsamic pizza and their version of a Caesar salad, but I just didn't--too salty and the flavors were just off for me. (I don't think there was anything wrong with the dishes themselves--I just think they were too rich for me. I'm sure I would've been very happy if I would've eaten the same dishes as my boyfriend. I'm sure others will enjoy that pizza and salad). Chocolate-orange gelato was delicious. Huge portions of everything! You won't leave here hungry. Was sad we couldn't take anything home as we were traveling. I wish that they had had their cuccidati (Italian fig cookies) on hand in the restaurant--which they apparently sell at their bakery at another site--I wanted to see if they were as good as the ones I make! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to visit their bakery as we left town the next day. Service was very attentive and pleasant (my Scottish boyfriend thought it was over-the-top, but he's used to minimal service standards, ha ha). (If you want to be completely left alone for your meal, this isn't the place for you). I found the service to be terrific. Definitely can tell this is a family business--and as someone who also is a part of a family Italian restaurant, I enjoyed this aspect. Would visit again if I was local--and I'd make sure I had the minestrone and a meaty pasta dish--or I'd even come just to have a cocktail and bread with the dip!
