I just left after getting an eyelash perm and I am in love! I'm very spontaneous and when I heard about eyelash perms I knew I wanted to get one. At first, I had contemplated getting eyelash extension but then realized I didn't want the maintenance and I didn't really like how fake it can look, plus I am a makeup hoarder and I love using my mascaras so I didn't want to let that go! Cue eyelash perm, mine are super straight. The only thing that would keep them curled was waterproof mascara and I loved the look but HATED taking it off. I researched places in Boston that do eyelash perms and it doesn't seem like there's many. After coming on yelp I found Beyond Beaute and read reviews and today I decided to bite the bullet. I called and asked for an appointment and they said that they could do it today which was ecstatic about, I'm impatient and hate waiting for things when I have something in mind that I want to do. They told me on the phone it was $55, so yes, the website is out of date with the prices. I came in and it's in a non-descript building, pretty small, only two rooms, and it's nothing fancy so don't come in thinking you're in some day spa. Rebecca was the person who did my perm and after seeing my eyelashes she agreed they are super straight and it would take me longer than usual to ensure it set right. My appointment was at 1, and I didn't leave until about 2:20. Overall the procedure was painless, I almost fell asleep since I had to keep my eyes closed the whole time. For aftercare, she told me I could wet them and apply makeup as normal, just avoid steam, but I'm being cautious and not letting anything get on my eyelashes for 24 hours. I'm a bit sad to write this because Rebecca is such a lovely girl, but I've been a bit disappointed with my last few visits. I had my lashes done again, and they came out a bit twisted and wackadoo. I'm willing to let one bad service go by for three previous good ones, but it's worth noting. Then last week, my go-to facial place was booked, so I decided to try her out. She was very attentive, and even gave a back massage as part of it, which was nice, but the extraction work wasn't what I was used -- still a lot of clogged pores. I hate to give this place a bad review because the owner is so sweet. But it does bother me that the service I got is just not worth the money & time. This review is based on the lash perming service. I came here over 2 years ago with a friend and had a horrible experience. The owner allowed someone who did not know what she was doing to perm my lashes and they came out crooked and uneven. I recently came back again to give the salon another try . I've read amazing reviews on Rebecca (owner). I came back & she was very sweet and accommodating. She made sure I was comfortable at all times. However, same as the last experience, my lashes did not come out as hoped. One eye was slightly curlier & the other eye had some lashes that didn't perm too well so they stuck out. I've had eyelash perms done before and they were great but she did an amazing job. I completely loved it and they looked perfect. She took the time to care and made them absolutely beautiful. Then I got a facial and I usually don't get facials but I've been breaking out so badly that I decided to get one. She explained each step to me as we went along and she told me what she was doing so that I didn't have to worry. All I can say is Wow! Rebecca did my eyelash perm and tint today and I can't tell you how happy I am. I teach spin 6x/week and I really needed an alternative to waterproof mascara. I went to Beyond Beaute yesterday for a lash perm and a facial. I've had lash perm before and knew what to expect. Rebecca's process is a little different where she really curl from the base so you do feel the tucking and pulling a bit more...BUT the result is amazing..so worth the little discomfort. I also added a lash tint as well and now my lashes look so full and dark, I don't even need to use eye pencil anymore. The facial was nice too. This review is for the eyelash perm and tint performed by Rebecca: Rebecca is the best! I'm extremely particular about eyelash perms, as I have very long, thick, but stick straight asian eyelashes. My hair doesn't perm evenly nor does it hold a perm in the same way non-asian hair can/does, so perming my eyelashes can be somewhat difficult. I've tried several other spas in the area and paid double the price for little to mediocre results. I am so grateful to have found Rebecca at Beyond Beaute! She is professional and communicative, taking the time at the beginning of the appointment to discuss and exact the look you'd like to achieve. She is also very communicative (not in an unnecessary, intrusive way) during the process, giving you the option to choose the right curling implement (thankfully she doesn't use the sticky circular rods normally used at other spas) and explaining the differences and benefits between the options available. My eyelashes look exactly how I wanted, lifted at the base with a soft, natural curl, and they are evenly permed! Needless to say I am absolutely ECSTATIC about the results! Hands down Rebecca does the best eyelash perm in Boston!!! I also added the tint for $18 and it was totally worth it! She also gave me good maintenance tips to prolong the perm and tint. Rebecca is the BEST! I see her regularly for eyelash perms (I've been seeing her for the past year or so) and I'm very happy with this service! I have long, straight Asian eyelashes and the perm process using those sticky circular rods and astringent solutions commonly used by other salons do not work for me. the first time i went there for my eyelash perm, rebecca did a very good job, but i just went in again a couple weeks ago and it was just the worst thing ever. my lashes are all messed up, some not curled, one eye more curled and the other. its like it was done by a complete amateur! I'm so mad because now when i put mascara on they look horrible, and without it my eyes looks bad too so theres no escaping it. definitely not worth the $50 plus $12 parking which is the cheapest and most cramped. read more
