I purchased 10 or so wines online to pick up in the store. The order was ready on time but many of the correct vintages were missing. I don't really think Bevmo has great prices unless you get their wine during the 5 cent wine sale. Safeway tends to have better deals and selection (at least the one in Mountain View). I have mixed feelings about Bevmo unfortunately. read more

I was sent by the San Jose store to buy the last 6-pack of Red Tail Ale at this location, only to find that they did not. Then, I decided, after that deep disappointment, to buy ONE bottle of Pellegrino Mineral Water (only, nothing else), and the clerk insisted that I needed to show my I.D. because I was under-age and was purchasing an alcoholic item. He said he had no choice. No, no - he DID have a choice: it was a non-alcoholic item, and you do NOT card people over 50 years of age for a bottle of mineral water. Another worker should have trained him as to how to handle this glitch in the network. I left irritated, twice over, for this: for the item that was not waiting for me and a delay that should not have happened. Sorry folks, management should better train their cashiers. read more

This place is like a Walmart for Alcohol! They have a great selection of wine, cheese and liquor. You can find exactly what you need at Bevmo. The store is really clean and the workers were very helpful! For the quality of the service to clean and well stocked store, prices are very reasonable! I wish they had a Bevmo in Texas! read more

i've been coming to this bevmo for years! came here right after i turned 21 and bought my first bottle of alcohol. good memories :) anyway, i like this place because the selection is ginormous, the store is bright and clean, and theres always an employee around who asks you if you need help and seems to be quite knowledgeable. they also have lots of refrigerated beverages if you're just grabbing something on the go. booze prices are reasonable. they also sell lots of snacks, glasses, mixers and any other alcohol accoutrements you might want, but those are overpriced, in my opinion. if you want that stuff get your lazy butt to the safeway that's right down the street. if you're looking for that craft brew you just love so much or that bottle of ice wine that you just can't find anywhere else, this is your place. read more

We were on the hunt for Stone Farking W00tstout a little after it became available in Northern California. We went to this Bevmo because it was close by. Upon arriving at the store we approached Melissa and she searched the store for the last one. When we asked if there were any more in the area, she went out of her way to search at the other Bevmo locations for the remaining and put them on hold for us so we could pick them up. She was a big help and sorry to everyone else who missed out on the beer because we bought them out. read more

I used the Sunnyvale Bevmo to supply alcohol for my wife and my wedding reception. After we registered, we were able to schedule a tasting for the next week. Mark did our tasting and he was excellent at tailoring the session to our needs. We had a couple of signature drinks we were planning for, so we landed on the Toque et Clochers Cremant (in addition to the Tapiz Malbec, Wild Horse Merlot, and Eve Chardonnay) which is an excellent sparking wine that also works fantastically in an elderflower cocktail. Once we placed our order, it was ready for pickup in a couple of days. It was an easy process to go through to taste our choices and place the order. I would definitely recommend it! read more

When I want wine or liquor, BevMo is the first place I think of going. They've got great selection and good prices. The service at this store is a tad more friendly than at other locations in the area. They seem to have a better beer selection, too. Lots of breadth from western microbreweries. The one downside is how much of their stock is sitting in front of huge plate glass windows that let in a lot of sun in the summer. The store says the glass is specially treated to keep the sun from spoiling the product, but I'm not sure I trust it. read more

As everyone knows they have a great selection of wine and quality liquor at a reasonable price. I'm a whiskey drinker and I'm impressed with their "top shelf" whiskeys. I noticed that they started carrying cigars as well. The Bevmo located in Sunnyvale has the best selection of habanos compared to a few of the other local Bevmos. They carry some of the best non Cuban cigars like Padron, Fuente and Cohiba. Unfortunately, the humidors are not set to the correct temperature, thus the cigars tend to be a bit dry and this effects the taste. I have to remind myself that they are called Bevmo, not CigarMo. read more

I don't normally review large, chain stores but I had such a positive experience dealing with this BevMo for my wedding I wanted to leave a review! BevMo was by far the easiest wedding vendor to work with; everything went so smoothly. I love that they set up a tasting for us where we tried 3 reds and 3 whites that would match our wedding menu and were within our budget. Over the course of a few months I continued adding on or changing my order and they accommodated very easily. They stored everything in their store and delivered for free on the day-of (with the white wines and beers chilled). A few days after, I returned a ton of extra wine and beer; they processed it quickly and gave me a refund. The store employees were great to work with all throughout, and they really made things easy for us. I would highly recommend this BevMo for your party planning needs! read more

Exhaustive selection of alcohol. I'm pretty sure the beer collection is awesome, as is the scotch collection. I did look through the wine selection as well - I've seen more variety elsewhere. This does not mean that they're not well stocked - they are - just that I have seen a more varied collection elsewhere. Very helpful staff as well. And they're open on Sundays! read more

This BevMo is the best. I am closer to the Santa Clara location, but it is worth the drive. We lost our Saturday wine tasting hostess to a winery in Gilroy, but the wine and beer tastings are still great, and the service is awesome. read more

So upset came to Bevmo for big party were having and because guy is painting the wall which is way above the door, they wouldn't ask him to move for a minute while they get to the storage to get something I needed. I'm so disappointed with the customer service I got from the guys in this Bevmo!! The lady that helped me at check out was so pleasant she was kind. Store is well organized, wine tastings are cool but some of the people that work there shouldn't be involved in customer service. Came across this cashier named Miguel that was less than pleasant. He had an attitude problem the moment I came to his cash register. Didn't say hello didn't say thank you. He just badgered me for my id and wanted to get me out of his line even though no one else was there. He kind of acted like he found out what I was sleeping with his girlfriend, assuming he has one. Been here many times before, usually I've dealt with pleasant people, but this guy didn't fit the bill. I'll go again for the selection but if I receive poor service again, I'll deal with it in person. read more

came to this location on an impulse for some sweet wine. The store was pretty empty and quiet. A few stockers were about and one cashier keeping an eye on the shoppers. While I did not find the brand I had hoped for, I noticed some new beverages I could try and felt content with. While examining the mini bottles, I noticed the cashier cautiously walking toward my friend and I. She had stopped when another customer was ready to purchase, but kept eying us suspiciously. When I went to the register and gave my ID and bevcard for the purchase, she acted surprised at my age. When I joked about my looks, she got too serious and said I should always be prepared to be carded. She had no sense of humor, and told my friend she needed a card as well for me to purchase. accused of buying for minors and impolitely treating me like a thief. I was not impressed with Crisanta's customer service. I felt judged and may not return to this store. read more

Reasonable selection (as one expects from BevMo), but the organization of this store is different from others. Rather than by brewery, their beers are split up by style, which, ok, I guess makes some sense. But if you are looking for a beer than doesn't fit clearly into one of their categories, it can be a little frustrating. Also, staff was super unhelpful. Nobody asked if I needed help navigating their counter-intuitive beer section. When I flagged somebody down to ask if they had the beer I was after (Stone Enjoy By 8.16.14), I was shown a different beer by that brewery (regular old Stone IPA). I walked around for another few minutes, and concluded they didn't have it. I picked up a few other things, and went to check out. I asked the cashier if they had any Enjoy By. The response was an eye-roll and a curt no. I have shopped at a number of other Bay Area locations, and have come to expect (much) better from BevMo. PS- if you are looking for Enjoy By 8.16.14, they have it at the Menlo Park BevMo (or at least they did on Saturday) read more

First review on Yelp! I was so impressed, I had to write about it. I went into the Sunnyvale BevMo about a week ago to get some gin and bourbon. I know about gin and what I like, but I don't know a thing about bourbon. A staffer with a billy-goat beard, Eron I think?, asked if I needed help picking out a gin. I didn't, but I asked what he recommended. He then asked me a series of questions about what I drink, how I drink and stuff, and he wound up recommending my favorite gin to me! So I asked him to help me pick a bourbon. Again, he asked if it was for me or a party or for sipping or mixing. I said it'd be the only bourbon in my house and it was to share with friends coming over. He recommended Buffalo Trace. Sure enough, it was a hit. My buddy who knows about bourbon said its one of his faves. I don't even care if the prices were on par or higher than other places if you've got staff like that, I'll keep keep coming back. Let us not be in denial, and not with reference to the "river in Africa": There are good, decent chain liquor stores out there and BevMo' is one such chain. Really convenient location here and the help is good to work with on selections as well, for me, for gifts and tokens, and for "flat" drinks and tobacco products of one kind or another. I used to go to this Bev Mo for the several years. I will now go to Trader Joes located just up the street. Bev Mo has changed from being friendly to just another place. You have ring a bell to get "special products". The parking lot is small. The store people only now how to scan the product. The last staw is they will can you driver licence into their computer. They will keep your driver license in their computer forever. They say that it it to verify our age. I am way over 21. Trader Joe has better prices and service. They will treat you right and not a bar code. read more

I'm giving 5 stars to Peter who was a super hero this past friday when he fixed a very big order error by taking his lunch break and going all the way to San Jose to pick up a keg of Spaten that I had ordered 3 weeks prior and was told friday by staff "oh sorry we werent able to get that from the distributor. we tried to call you." First of all the employee who took my order copied down the wrong phone # and I was never notified. Secondly we spend $400 on these kegs and we want what we ordered....not some second rate beer your staff tried to pawn off on us. Bevmo, Sunnyvale, is a wonderful store, staffed by very dedicated employees. I didn't check what time they opened, and I arrived at 9:30 Friday morning, to buy a gift for a co-worker. They opened (at the time) at 10:00am. They saw me and opened early. I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. In addition, Eric Mack, the manager, is a great guy: supremely helpful, a hard worker, kind, generous, and personable. I'd recommend this store, not only for its low prices, but for its incredible staff. read more

They have raised prices on Weihenstephaner, I am disappointed. I really don't like the part where the beer on the shelves is expired. I asked one of their guys about it and it seemed they could care less. Just told me they are not the ones stocking the shelves and that's it. Now I carefully check every bottle I buy. What if there's no date on it? Then I get anxious... This has been the case with american brews, not so much with german, which I buy most often. That's the only reason I still go there. read more

So I ordered online a bottle of Bourbon which we'll say cost $100 dollars. After arriving and picking up some extras the cashier put what I thought was the correct bottle into the bag I purchased. Got all the way back to work and what did I find? WRONG FREAKIN BOTTLE! So when I called the manager and stated I have to rent a car (We take mass transit to work) and go back he said he could "Give you a %5 discount on a future purchase" but nothing on the current transaction. Stay away from this place as long as this manager resides in his "Lair". read more

Wow, five stars....from me!?!? This is a clear sign that says you must go here. Look at my reviews, I'm very carefull about my giving of stars. You must earn them. Anyways, this place is awesome. I've learned a lot about alcohol/liquor in the year I've been 21, and I can tell you this place has the best prices around. Sure, it is a discount store, but nonetheless. I've NEVER walked out there thinking, "Damn, that was expensive "(As is common noadays) or, I'm NOT coming back HERE. Nope, always enjoyed my visit and can not wait to come back. I went there just today, bought a 750 ml bottle of spiced rum and a 12 pack of Sam Adams, all for 27 bucks. You can't even find that at Costco or Safeway, or anywhere. All because of their Bevmo Club Card. It says you much more than Costco's or Safeways, and you dont have to pay for it. Also, there was this guy today, not sure of his name he was very helpfull. He didnt seem, like most employees, reluctant to help or anxious to get away from me. Most employees today act like customers are spiders, we scare them off somehow. Or atleast they are always far away and out of sight. Great place, great location, great prices, cool staff. read more

The experience could have been a lot better. I took my grandma into the store and the first thing we smelt was gin. At first we thought it was a broken bottle but we were greatly surprised. An older man named Tim greeted us and we found out it wasn't a broken bottle but his breath that smelled like gin. I don't know if its the same for stores but when I used to bartend it was illegal in CA to sell alcohol while intoxicated. Finally we were helped by a woman named Melissa who was very helpful and friendly. The store it's self is really well organIzed. Beer and Wine are very well stocked. As we went to the register to check out we heard Tim cussing and swearing about how unfair he is being treated. He was totally disrespectful to other employees talking down to them. Too bad this place didn't have more employees like Melissa because Tim was a nightmare and I feel sorry for the employees that have to deal with this guy on the daily bases. I love bevmo but will drive the extra 10 miles to go to another one. I only gave this two stars because of how helpful Melissa was and how pretty the store looked.
