DO NOT RENT OR TRY TO RETURN A KEG IN NOVATO!!!! I LOVE Bevmo....but the customer service at this specific location is seriously lacking. We rent kegs for camping trips and large parties from Bevmo because the price is great AND you can return the keg and receive your deposit and any other Bevmo location. We have NEVER had a problem doing this in the past. Yesterday we TRIED to return a keg that was rented in Folsom to the Novato Bevmo. The manager told my husband "I don't take keg returns from other locations because I don't know how to do it and the credit would have to be given to another store". My husband explained that he would have to drive nearly 2 hours to return the keg and we have never had a problem doing this before. Further more the Folsom store told him he could return it at any Bevmo. My husband called the store manager in Folsom while he was in the Novato store and the manager from Folsom called the manager in Novato in front of him. She was so rude and unpleasant to the other store manager that the he had to call his district supervisor. We were informed by the district manager that we COULD return the keg in Novato and to go back to the store to do so. I went into the store ahead of my husband to buy some items that we needed and as I walked in one of the cashiers started yelling across the aisle to the manager "he's back, he's coming back, here he comes". I said to the woman "I hope you aren't talking about my husband". At that point she became a total motor mouth and started apologizing profusely. I told her she was ridiculous and unprofessional and walked out. The Novato manager did end up taking the keg back but told my husband she was only doing so because she had been admonished by her manager. I will continue to shop at Bevmo because they normally have great service and even better prices but this location is operated by a bunch of morons who have ZERO customer service skills and behave like children. read more

Worst experience of customer service I have ever encountered. Went into the store quickly to pick up a few things with a friend who forgot to bring an ID along. Instead of carding us both at the door they waited until I was at the register with my items to card us. They questioned and humiliated both my friend and I for looking young. After kicking her out, they still refused to let me continue onto my purchase although I had a valid ID. I'm not from this town but thank God because I am never coming back to this place. read more

I just entered the store and the lady with the short black hair automatically treated me disrespectfully. I am 21 and she assumed differently. So she followed me at every corner until I paid and couldn't even give me personal space. I felt completely uncomfortable shopping with her watching over so then I felt rushed to pay for my one bottle of red moscato wine. She was straight up rude and treated me like a child. The other employees were helpful and provided great customer service except this woman. I will never go back here again. read more

Was in a time crunch to buy a specific gift for somebody or otherwise would have gone elsewhere. Hard to say exactly what felt so odd about the place, but for one thing, it was weird to unintentionally interrupt a guy's snack break & have him retrieve my items from a locked case & carry them to the register while chowing down on some kind of sausage snack. One star because Dave made my friends and I experience an awkward one. It was so rude the way Dave walked by us constantly checking our baskets seeing what we got and making sure we don't run out with the wine... Seriously, I didn't want to make this a race issue but it clearly was. My friend felt so uncomfortable, stating that Dave was probably following us because he African American...He followed us from one end of the store to the other. He sped up to try and watch all of us when we split up. He walked by our cart and peeked to see what we added... As he was fixing the shelf, or should I say pretending he would turn around and watch us. Not one smile, not one excuse me after getting so damn close. Even another customer said that man should have said excuse me. This was a VERY uncomfortable experience... We spent $100+ and now I regret even spending my money there. Should have called him up to the front so he could watch us pay for our stuff as a slap in the face. read more

How disappointing. I purchased a large bottle of Glenlevitt, only to realize it was a better price to buy two smaller bottles. The large bottle, 1.75 liters should have been around $60 and it was $75. Within a few hours I retuned to store and was told "there are no refunds or exchanges for the reason I gave them. " I've been shopping there for over 20 years, but I will NEVER return. They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Greeted pleasantly on our way in. Clean, well-stocked store. The staff were really friendly. No line. Plenty of parking. Scanned the mini-bottles and came up with three $1 bottles of vodka and another one for $2.99. They were running their buy 1, get 1 for 5c promotion. Good stuff. Will return! read more

I went to BevMo to pick a couple special gifts out for the special males in my life. Right away an Associate helped me. She started by asking me a few questions and then made suggestions based on my answers. The boxes were scratched up so the manager gave me two gift bags because the items I was purchasing was very expensive. The Associates were great. The choices they made were perfect and the two men I gave them to LOVED the choices. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience with the manager on duty of this store on May 26th while buying beverages with my boys. She indicated she didn't know where all of their her beer offerings were located and while she went to her computer to search, my youngest son spotted the section where what I was looking for was located. When she ask if I found the product, I said I didn't, but my son did and she went off on me in front of my children. She accused me of suggesting that she wasn't as capable as my child, explained to me what a bad parent I was and falsely accused me of calling her a name . As we left the store I asked her to address the foul language that one of her employees friends was using in a separate conversation (in front of my children) and she elected to follow us out of the store and to our vehicle to continue to lecture us. I finally told her to please just shut up and take her bad attitude back into the store. I don't claim to be an angel in this encounter, but her aggressive behavior should be an embarrassment to BevMo. read more

I went in to the store last night (Black Friday) at 8:45 to shop for a party we are having for 50 people. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the friendly clerks who asked if I needed any help, great! They were so helpful and so easy to talk to! They helped ease the decision making and got us out of there faster than I expected! They were fun to talk to at checkout and made the experience wonderful, they deserve 10 stars! Thank you to the BevMo employees who helped us leave feeling GREAT! I will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a store with friendly, helpful people and still getting a great deal. read more
