I've been eating here since the mid 1990s, happy its still here!F riendly faces, zero ambience, but you're here for the food and affordable prices. In 1996, I was making $4.75/hour California minimum wage. In 2026, its now $17, or even $20 for fast food workings. The fresh, hot, crispy, and toasted sandwiches are always a "Delite"! Prices have increased over the years, but not offensively. My recent Assorted Delite "half" sandwich was $11.50 but still as big and ginormous as I last remembered and plenty of food for one big person like myself. The fresh rolls is toasted perfectly, not burnt, the inner white bread stays fluffy and doughy. There is enough ham, pastrami, and salami proteins to keep you satisfied, and just the right amount lettuce, tomato, and onion. The ingredients are nothing exotic, but somehow this magical delicious combination can't seem to be replicated anywhere else in the world except humble, dull, sleepy Novato California. Why? $11.50 might be seem pricy...but in 1996, I was making $4.75/hour California minimum wage. In 2026, its now $17, or even $20 for fast food workings. 11.50/17 = .67 $4.75 X .67 = $3.18 would be the 1996 inflation adjusted price. I would've found that a fair price back then, and today.

I enjoyed the turkey one, the meatball one, and the cheesesteak one (I order that one too many times) If your sandwich isn't toasted, it's a really different experience. Get it toasted. Trust. The portions are huge. Two people can eat a full size and be pretty content if you aren't a big eater Straightforward sandwiches, fair price, nice small business, what more can you want? OMG there was this crazy post on Reddit about an "overpriced" sandwich shop in Marin that pretty much expedited their closure. That's sad. I love small businesses. Get your sandwich here and not that five dollar foot long corporate ripoff or overpriced places. It works. I like what works.

When I picked up the sandwiches, they were leaking through the bag. Correction. Mine was leaking through the bag. The staff member put it in a plastic bag. I took it home, opened up the wrap and it was completely soaked in oil. Through the paper. The sandwich roll was covered in it. Picking it up and eating it was a challenge because it was so oily. There was balsamic vinegar on it as well. I could have eaten it and pushed aside the mistake if it wasn't such a mess. My husband had the hot salami and it didn't have oil on the bun at all. Weird. It won't keep me from coming again, but I will definitely have them repeat "no oil" twice.

We love their Dutch Crunch bread and the sandwich options are truly endless. There's also a shop/store with a variety of pastas, wines, cookies, and more. The service is attentive and kind. They can get busy at lunch time so just come ready to be a bit patient, because it's so worth it. There's indoor and outdoor seating. When a lovely day out, sit outside as you can people watch and enjoy the sunshine. The art and vibes in the place are old school, authentic, Italian deli and I'm so glad this is located where I live. Check them out!

Rocky's Quality Meats is the perfect name for them because they do have quality meats. I've ordered their turkey and cranberry panini a couple times as well as the rueben and the tomato and pesto panini. They don't skimp on the quantity of meat in the sandwiches either. They are tucked inside the Santa Venetia market and are a separate business. You have to pay for whatever you ordered at the counter and not the front cashier. Besides their sandwiches they also offer homemade sides, various raw meats, sausages, frozen ravioli and they bbq ribs and chicken outside the market every Friday. The guys behind the counter are always fast and friendly. Be prepared for a long line during the lunch hour. It's worth the wait.

It's inside the market but it's own business (as I understand, partners with the SV Market). It's open Monday-Saturday and they offer top quality meats - from seafood, locally sourced free range chicken, beef and more. I love their homemade Chicken Apple Sausage while my wife prefers their spicy Italian Sausage. We have also enjoyed their sandwiches (beware around 12noon there is a line from folks working at the Marin Civic Center). Our favorite is their Reuben sandwich - with pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Thousand island dressing then heated in a Panini press. And most every Friday Dante and team are out front smoking and barbecuing. Folks in the community know to come by for Chicken, Ribs, and Tri-tip. Friendly service, reasonable prices and high quality food can be found at Rocky's Quality Meats.
