This place is a mess, a lot of expired products. I bought some alcohol and snacks there, some of their snacks are expired. I told the manager there are a lot of expired products, he said it's ok still edible. I can't believe it, I've seen workers take down expired snacks to throw away. I don't recommend coming to this bevmo, even though some workers know their stuff around the store. There are even candies from the holidays on the clearance rack for sale. Also, empty display boxes are laying around on the shelves.

If I were to rate this location on variety alone I would undoubtedly give it 5 stars. The prices that I've come to expect from BevMo! Vs this locations pricing however is the reason for the 4 star rating. I didn't find the prices to be any more competitive than my local Safeway for various spirits. If you're going for a common brand like white claw this is not the place I would suggest. However, if you're going to try new and unique brands then this is the place for you! Overall, Experiment here but go elsewhere for common brands.

To be honest I haven't been the biggest fan of BevMo! In the past, just because the best beers were never in the fridge. Since the covid-19 began, I've been there 3 times now and so far had great service all 3 times. The online ordering is pretty simple and now that they are well staffed and understand the operations, I could order and pick up within an hour or two. In addition, the buy one get one 5 cent deal is pretty amazing. Really allows you to try a multitude of wines for a relatively low cost. I'm not a wine snob so anything cheap that's also tasty is good with me. This time around, I ordered my low cal beer (wowza - which is quite good) and thought I'd get a whisky. Most of their whisky was discounted so I opted for the Templeton rye 4-year. Turns out they were out of stock so they replaced it with the 6-year for the same price at $28.99. Great deal. Happy to keep coming here in the future for wine and other booze.

Sorry to hear about David H's wife's experience. I didn't experience the same. The service was more than adequate on the several occasions I've shopped at this BevMo. Customer service representatives made suggestions and were generally friendly. This store is so far superior to the San Mateo location, it hard to believe they are the same chain. I know a lot of locals thought Burlingame Ave was an inappropriate place for a BevMo. Not sure why, everyone knows a housewife likes a bottle of wine just the rest of us. In any event, I love this location. I love their 5 cent wine sales and there clean, kept and semi-classy store front. read more

Still have gripes about BevMo's wine selection/pricing (not all the wine is really priced all that well), but the spirits section is decent. If you have the club card and keep your eyes peeled for deals, it's definitely worth it. I got some awesome sparkling wine flutes for $14.99! (They were $34 on Amazon!) Bargain hunting and lots of mini bottles. And the staff is pretty friendly, except this one dude who's a little snotty about the wine. read more

Limited selection as this is a smaller store, offset by the handy location right on Burlingame Ave. Friday night wine and beer tasting is an interesting offering, as well, updated to match the fall theme this past week with bold reds and pumpkin flavored beers and ciders. Pro tip: you will absolutely end up carrying your purchases more than a couple steps, as parking in this area is limited to a few street spots and several lots dotted around the area. The ability to place an order online and pick up just one hour later is one of the handiest things about BevMo in general, but the last time I went the cashier and I waited for fifteen minutes (and through two loudspeaker calls) for a manager to come up and process the transaction on a Saturday afternoon, even with no other customers in store. Willing to chalk it up as a one-off, as the staff are generally friendly and helpful. PARKING ADDENDUM Parking can be tough in the area, but the closest public lot is behind the Walgreen's at Burlingame Ave/El Camino if you can't find street parking any closer. read more

Was running around town looking for a complete case of Joseph Phelps wine. I called several stores and then called Bevmos in Bgame they where very helpful- they had 8 bottles left and helped me located 6 more at the San Bruno location. I got those 8 JP's and 2 cases of Rombauer, then ran to the SB store to get those other other bottles. They helped by making the process quick and easy. James and another helped me out and made the expirence what it was. Thanks guys read more

Bev Mo has the best, non-traditional, most original gift ideas (like bacon chocolate bars). This particular location also offers great service. I really appreciated the friendliness of their employees. With my shiny new BevMo membership card in tow, I decided to invest in a $34 bottle of Laphroaig (a gift for myself) as well as a few other gifts for friends like a wine bottle opener, a beautiful two-year old cab sauv and some cheese twists (another gift for myself). Did you know you can search for your alcohol of choice on the BevMo site before you go to the store? Nothing better than going to a store that HAS exactly what you want, on hold, waiting for you to pick it up. Easy parking on Burlingame Avenue and love the fact that they are open until 9 pm on most weekdays. read more

Nice store and well stocked I ended up buying several items in addition to my on-line order. I left the store with the help of staff loading my car, but when I arrived home I noticed they packed the wrong wine. The staff came to the rescue and went out of there way to correct the mistake! Our go to liquor store in the area! They always have amazing service, and they are there to answer any questions. We always check out super fast, and the cashiers are as friendly as they can get. Their prices are pretty competitive to Safeway or other liquor stores. We love their 5c wine sales. Pretty much you get a second bottle for 5 cents after paying regular price for one. Can't speak about parking since we always walk here (we live so close), but I believe there's parking behind the store. They always offer a box if you get too much, which is a plus! read more

The worst and dumbest store personnel I have ever come across in my life. Store cashiers are not aware of California alcohol sale laws or store policies and yet they dare to man the counters. The idiot of a manager said he does not need to display store policies, that I should go to their website to check store policies but cannot have trained cashiers to answer store policies! Really - I come to a store to purchase liquor in upscale Burlingame and would expect to have my questions answered by store staff or store polices on display! You really expect me to go visit a web site for policies for an in-store purchase!!!!! And Mr Smarty Manager - by the way if your cashier does not know the policies of alcohol sale in CA state- why do you expect me to be knowledgeable of the same! Such an idiot and waste of time to talk to! Parking is a nightmare as well! Wonder why I ever decided to support my local store for purchae! read more

We came here and had just missed the big sale. But they still had some bottles for 'buy one, and get the second bottle for 5 cents". The staff was quite knowledgable (well, not all of them, but we managed to find one that was quite good). There is a great selection of wine here, so you can probably find something you like. read more

I would give this location a zero because the employes were horrible. They can't tell a cali wine from a Argentinian. Also I came with my daughter that's only 8 years old and was asked for her identification to buy a bottle for me and my wife. What is up with that. If you want to support local business go to the wine stop down the street and get a more personal experience. read more

The staff at this location makes picking out your drinks very entertaining. I went in to shop for a pink themed birthday party recently and oh boy did the two sales guys have a ball. They set me up with 8-10 bottles of wine, champagne and liquor that all went along with the pink theme perfectly. Having a helpful staff in a maze of bottles is definitely helpful and now I go in weekly just to get a recommendation on new things to try out! read more

Such a great selection beverages! We are never disappointed when we go there for our special event needs... This is especially useful for when we go to a party and need to bring a housewarming gift. Also, in terms of being tuned in as far as seasonal goods as concerned, are always up to date and provide great food pairing ideas. Salespeople are pretty friendly and they are never understaffed. First ever Bevmo I've been in that denied me service for being with my little sister. I was stopping by to get myself some beer on my way back from picking her up and they don't serve me because she is in the store. I know it's policy but I've gone to other bevmos many times. I'm 25 years old and have never had this problem. I will take my service to other bevmos before this one. read more

Just ask for using the rest room, and notice how the food items are stored in unhygienic conditions. One of the refrigerator used for storing beverages is often filled with half consumed unwrapped food.

I love this store. All team is amazing except of this new guy Ryan that just appears last few weeks. He is throwing coins, asking 4 times if I need bags and I answered yes he keep asking. This is super annoying. Today we was buying champagne and he charged us more than we bought. Unfortunately I don't remember name of the person who helped us but I will update when I will figure out name. She did refund and kindly apologized. Love this store, please take actions on this guy. Fuck this store. As soon as i walked in with my cousins. They made us feel uncomfortable , like we were gonna stael something , we bought a 200 dollar bottle of johnnie walker blue and they still called the cops on us and told us we weren't allowed in the store anymore ... We came in to look around and said the same. We did notice staff helping out customers and being very helpful with whatever the inquiry may have been The store actually carries quite a few items and this one was pretty spacious. They had the usual alcohol items--beer, hard kombucha, wines, spirits, seltzers/RTDs in different sizes--on both the warm shelf and some items in the cold box or lock up case. These were all well organized and stocked and arranged appropriately. And prices were pretty reasonable. They also have a cigar/tobacco section and even more items spaced around the store--party supplies, items for hosting (cocktail shakers, glassware), and a lot of food! The food items were snacks, frozen (ice cream), and charcuterie items. I had no idea that it was basically an all in one type of store. I actually went through the aisles to see what else they carry and stumbled upon the clearance section (up to 20-50% off). I checked dates and they seemed fine, but we basically just shopped the discounted section to find some snacks and drinks. I went in with the expectation of maybe buying some alcohol and coming out with something else completely unexpected. I will definitely check out this place the next time I'm in town.

Ok, I admit it - I was expecting the store and experience to be exactly like BevMo!. Nothing wrong with their competitor, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Located in the Gellert Marketplace, there is plenty of parking for patrons. The liquor store is also conveniently neighbours with other retailers such as Sprouts Farmers Market and PetSmart as well as food & beverage joints like the Habit Burger Grill, Panera Bread, and Starbucks. The venue, ornamented in hues of brown, is huge, but escapes the brightly lit warehouse feel, which is cool. We arrived at the retailer of fine wines from around the world, also stocking beers and accessories, shortly before 7:30 PM, grabbed a cart at the front entrance, filling it with a few cases of canned/bottled beers, coolers, etc. While perusing the vodka and tequila sections, Edgar introduced himself to us and helped us decide on a good vodka at a great price, TOWER VODKA. He also assisted us with choosing a couple of bottles of smooth tasting tequilas that wouldn't break our wallets, CIMARRON BLANCO and LLEGADO BLANCO. Everyone at our party the next day who took shots of tequila voted between CIMARRON and LLEGADO. I preferred the latter. Really appreciated Edgar's proposal on getting two smaller bottles of tequila to try each out instead of purchasing one big bottle. He delivered top notch service as well as warm and interesting conversation. We will definitely be visiting Total Wine & More for our spirit shopping, especially for our parties. When we do, we hope to work with Edgar again.

In my last two visits I had a bad experience with an African American guy ( I don't know his name and I don't if he is the owner). I noticed he was so rude with every single customer before me. He don't have patience or manners, mostly with seniors. He yelled at the customers, he always says something rude and doesn't let the customers speak. I don't think I will ever go back there. He treated me and my mother in law so rude, he even turned off the lottery machine so we couldn't check our tickets and he refused to sell us tickets, the reason, we didn't know it. We left the store without telling him a word, it was not worth it to argue with him.

I've been here a couple times in the last several months, and I've seen mostly the same breweries and labels (maybe 10% change?). But my biggest issue with Holly Market is the cost - Their prices are the highest I've ever seen in the Bay Area. Four-packs of micro-brew pint cans run about $2 more than they are anywhere else, including Whole Foods. And if you grab a 4-pack of a double or triple IPA, you'll be paying at least $4 more than other places. I asked about this the last time I was here, and the guy said, "Higher alcohol beers are more expensive," which in general is true; but not THIS much more expensive. It seems to me they are using that as an excuse to double their already-high markup. I've actually cancelled more than one purchase here when I saw the actual charge pop-up on the register. (Note: They don't post prices for most beers). I was going to give Holly Market 3 stars, but based on the unusually-high Yelp rating...and abnormal number of 5-star reviews from newbies (We know what that means!) I'll do my part to move the needle in the direction of the real world. Interestingly, the very act of writing this review has made me realize one thing: I'm done with this place.
