Sorry to hear about David H's wife's experience. I didn't experience the same. The service was more than adequate on the several occasions I've shopped at this BevMo. Customer service representatives made suggestions and were generally friendly. This store is so far superior to the San Mateo location, it hard to believe they are the same chain. I know a lot of locals thought Burlingame Ave was an inappropriate place for a BevMo. Not sure why, everyone knows a housewife likes a bottle of wine just the rest of us. Still have gripes about BevMo's wine selection/pricing (not all the wine is really priced all that well), but the spirits section is decent. If you have the club card and keep your eyes peeled for deals, it's definitely worth it. I got some awesome sparkling wine flutes for $14.99! (They were $34 on Amazon!) Bargain hunting and lots of mini bottles. And the staff is pretty friendly, except this one dude who's a little snotty about the wine. read more

Limited selection as this is a smaller store, offset by the handy location right on Burlingame Ave. Friday night wine and beer tasting is an interesting offering, as well, updated to match the fall theme this past week with bold reds and pumpkin flavored beers and ciders. Pro tip: you will absolutely end up carrying your purchases more than a couple steps, as parking in this area is limited to a few street spots and several lots dotted around the area. The ability to place an order online and pick up just one hour later is one of the handiest things about BevMo in general, but the last time I went the cashier and I waited for fifteen minutes (and through two loudspeaker calls) for a manager to come up and process the transaction on a Saturday afternoon, even with no other customers in store. Willing to chalk it up as a one-off, as the staff are generally friendly and helpful. PARKING ADDENDUM Parking can be tough in the area, but the closest public lot is behind the Walgreen's at Burlingame Ave/El Camino if you can't find street parking any closer. read more

Was running around town looking for a complete case of Joseph Phelps wine. I called several stores and then called Bevmos in Bgame they where very helpful- they had 8 bottles left and helped me located 6 more at the San Bruno location. I got those 8 JP's and 2 cases of Rombauer, then ran to the SB store to get those other other bottles. They helped by making the process quick and easy. Bev Mo has the best, non-traditional, most original gift ideas (like bacon chocolate bars). This particular location also offers great service. I really appreciated the friendliness of their employees. With my shiny new BevMo membership card in tow, I decided to invest in a $34 bottle of Laphroaig (a gift for myself) as well as a few other gifts for friends like a wine bottle opener, a beautiful two-year old cab sauv and some cheese twists (another gift for myself). Did you know you can search for your alcohol of choice on the BevMo site before you go to the store? Nothing better than going to a store that HAS exactly what you want, on hold, waiting for you to pick it up. Easy parking on Burlingame Avenue and love the fact that they are open until 9 pm on most weekdays. read more

Nice store and well stocked I ended up buying several items in addition to my on-line order. I left the store with the help of staff loading my car, but when I arrived home I noticed they packed the wrong wine. The staff came to the rescue and went out of there way to correct the mistake! Our go to liquor store in the area! They always have amazing service, and they are there to answer any questions. We always check out super fast, and the cashiers are as friendly as they can get. Their prices are pretty competitive to Safeway or other liquor stores. We love their 5c wine sales. Pretty much you get a second bottle for 5 cents after paying regular price for one. Can't speak about parking since we always walk here (we live so close), but I believe there's parking behind the store. They always offer a box if you get too much, which is a plus! read more

The worst and dumbest store personnel I have ever come across in my life. Store cashiers are not aware of California alcohol sale laws or store policies and yet they dare to man the counters. The idiot of a manager said he does not need to display store policies, that I should go to their website to check store policies but cannot have trained cashiers to answer store policies! Really - I come to a store to purchase liquor in upscale Burlingame and would expect to have my questions answered by store staff or store polices on display! You really expect me to go visit a web site for policies for an in-store purchase!!!!! And Mr Smarty Manager - by the way if your cashier does not know the policies of alcohol sale in CA state- why do you expect me to be knowledgeable of the same! Such an idiot and waste of time to talk to! Parking is a nightmare as well! Wonder why I ever decided to support my local store for purchae! read more

Good selection of wine..... but with a recent management change the customer service has really dropped off. I will not be returning.

We came here and had just missed the big sale. But they still had some bottles for 'buy one, and get the second bottle for 5 cents". The staff was quite knowledgable (well, not all of them, but we managed to find one that was quite good). There is a great selection of wine here, so you can probably find something you like. read more

I would give this location a zero because the employes were horrible. They can't tell a cali wine from a Argentinian. Also I came with my daughter that's only 8 years old and was asked for her identification to buy a bottle for me and my wife. What is up with that. The staff at this location makes picking out your drinks very entertaining. I went in to shop for a pink themed birthday party recently and oh boy did the two sales guys have a ball. They set me up with 8-10 bottles of wine, champagne and liquor that all went along with the pink theme perfectly. Having a helpful staff in a maze of bottles is definitely helpful and now I go in weekly just to get a recommendation on new things to try out! read more

Such a great selection beverages! We are never disappointed when we go there for our special event needs... This is especially useful for when we go to a party and need to bring a housewarming gift. First ever Bevmo I've been in that denied me service for being with my little sister. I was stopping by to get myself some beer on my way back from picking her up and they don't serve me because she is in the store. I know it's policy but I've gone to other bevmos many times.
