Man says I needed to wait for Katrina to ring me up . 8:55 pm Katrina says: "You need to get to me before because I don't need to be ringing you up before closing. You should come earlier in the day . You should come back tomorrow . You should come back another day etc.." Btw, I was helping her organize my purchases on the counter to get rung up, bagging my stuff etc.. With all that talking from her, I still got out at 9:02. Some other customers behind me also needed to be rung up. Not happy. I never had such bad customer service. Upper management should take a close look at their staff. If there are people in the store shopping before 9 pm closing hours, they should be able to finish their purchase and not be harassed when they are trying to pay. They should not be told to "come back tomorrow " etc... Wow...

Some stores build relationships…read more I've been shopping with this family for more than 30 years, and Once Upon a Bottle is one of those places where you're greeted like a regular, not a transaction. The store is clean and organized, and it carries a great selection of wine, beer, and spirits, ranging from everyday favorites to allocated bottles. What I appreciate most is that they don't play the "museum pricing" game. I've found sought-after bottles here with surprisingly reasonable markups, even though other stores treat them like display pieces. It's the kind of neighborhood business that's becoming harder to find. Good people, fair prices, quality products, and a genuine connection to the community. Always worth the stop.

Another poster mentioned Gerald's knowledge, so I called him. I explained my purpose, i.e., to send a memorable bottle of champagne to thank a friend who had referred some business to me. I gave him a $200 budget, and off the top of his head he made five recommendations, one of which I chose because of the interesting back story behind the wine/vintner. That night, I got an email from my friend, thanking me for the wine and raving about the impressive service. The wine was nicely gift-wrapped, and included included a card with the story I'd found so interesting about the wine. My only regret is that we don't have anything like this where I live in Mexico.
