Apparently, this spot has even been shown on several TV and news features for their famous cannolis. I believe it. But the signature treat here is actually the merri-mac tea cake which has been around since the bakery was founded, apparently. It's basically a shortbread cookie with fondant. I can't say that I loved it. I think it would be much better without so much fondant. I scraped it off then scarfed it down. The owner just completed renovations and is working on the second floor now. If you have some time, peruse the pics on the wall and take in the history.
