I shop here to support smaller family businesses, however, several visits last week and closed. Call ahead today open but when I arrive closed. In the height of pool season? Kenny is nice man but nice and reliable are different . He is destroying this business. I moved on and suggest everybody does so. Sorry but this is unbelievably bad business. read more

Totally disappointed is this company. Had an appointment for Thursday the weekend of Memorial Day it was raining so we rescheduled for that Friday. They came Friday two workers seem nice took them in my yard and showed them my pool told them if they needed me for anything just knock. They didn't knocked until Ithey were done. I was told I need an O ring and he didn't have one with him and if he came back it would be another 300 dollars. My bill was 375 and I gave them 440 so they would have a tip. After they left I went out to check that installed the latter in a new place on my deck when there was already wholes for where it was replaced previously. Reading receip says I need a new pool cover. There was nothing wrong with my pool cover before they removed it. They didn't remove the cord they just cut it. If I could give 0 stars I would. Terrible company. The man on the phone was rude and arrogant. If they do a service for you and something is wrong with the service, they will not come back out to fix the issue. You are left to figure it out on your own. This is the first time we used them to close our pool. When it came time to open the pool, there was air that was getting into the system and the pump was losing pressure. We tried everything to fix the problem with no luck. We called them to see if someone can come out to take a look at it and was told we would have to call a leak company to look at it. I explained to him that we have had this in-ground pool for 22 years and have never had an issue with opening it, until this company closed it. The man on the phone became arrogant and rude told me anything can happen over the winter, it's like getting a flat tire. We are currently calling a company to come out and take a look at it to see what the issue is. If the issue is their fault, I will be suing them in small claims court. We called them over and they did not brush the walls or vacuum the pool, when they turned on the filter they did not put in the skimmer and clogged the pool when we called them to complain about the team the lady on the phone said they couldnt do anything even thougjt they were the ones who messed up our pool, now they want us to make another payment to fix what they caused horrible quality read more

I hired them to open my pool for $500. They just removed the cover and left. They did not turn on the filter. When we turned on , it did not work. I called Jim to ask him why they did not turn the filter on and make sure everything is working fine before they leave, he was so rude and defensive and hung the phone on me. The pool filter does not working now, and I have to hire somebody else to finish their work,$500 more. I could not reach the owner to complain!!!!!! Nobody their willing to finish the opening.! read more

Not happy with the professionalism of this company. I called to get pricing for a pool closing. The scheduler, a woman, spoke to me and said that they could come out on Monday. She stated that she could not schedule until I gave her a 50% deposit over the phone. I told her I would call her back after speaking to my husband if we wanted to move forward. Therefore, closing should NOT have been scheduled since I did not agree to the deposit, or confirm that I was available Monday. In the meantime, I found another company to close the pool for $100.00 less. Today, Tuesday, I received a voicemail from the same woman to let me know they came out yesterday to close my pool (while I was at work) and that it had already been closed. The only reason for her call was to let me know that I "wasted their time". I never agreed to the closing or I would have given a deposit. The fact that she called me specifically to blame me for her wasted time I thought was very unprofessional. I tried to call the office back to speak with her and was told she was "gone for the day". I tried to explain to the person with whom I was speaking that I wanted to speak with the woman to let her know that I did not appreciate her voicemail. I informed the man on the phone of the situation and let him know that I never agreed to the closing. He said I should have called and cancelled. How can I call and cancel something that I never scheduled? He basically called me a liar by using the term "he-said, she-said" and told me to have a nice day and hung up. Go somewhere else for your pool needs. I found 3 other companies that were much less for opening and closing needs. They were also way more professional. read more

Needed new lines on my pool, they told me on a Monday they will send someone out, they showed up on a Friday only to inform me they don't work on vinyl liner pools. I told them in the original call what type of pool it was. read more

Horrible Company. They quoted me a price to do a pool inspection. Informed me they would call me at 1:30 to let me know they were coming. Called me at 2:15 and stated they didn't realize how far the job was and messed up the routing. Tech told me he could be back out first thing Monday morning. I get a call the next day from the boss. Even though we looked the property together up on google. LITERALLLY found it on google maps together. He apparently thought it was a different town. Said its further then he thought. Now the price went from 340 to 740. I explained to him all of this. Told me he want tossing money out the door. This now held up the sale of the house. Please avoid this dishonest company. They made a mistake and wouldn't rectify it. read more

We had them service our pool 10 years. They sold us a heater that never worked right, so we added a gas heater. For 3 seasons the promised to fix the air heater. This year they told us we needed to call our own HVAC company and needed a new pump. We were annoyed and called to question, but no reply. Our contractor was here and took the pump to his pool store. If they had fixed it last year (our contract included repairs at a discount) the price would have been $70. Better pool want $700! Anyway, we've been asking for a reply, and waiting. We had the deluxe valet service, and when we entered the shed to see what we needed it was filled with empty bags and cans used by better pool tecs last year. Like a garbage heap. I feel like the assumed I'd be their maid. read more

We had them come out for an estimate in early May to drain and clean an in ground pool that had not been cover from the season before. They took pictures and gave us a quote and they said they would call and set up for someone to come out. After waiting over a week for a phone call they insisted that the lines of the pool needed to be pressure tested before they could do any work. It took three or four weeks for someone to even come out to test the lines. Even though we told him that the lines were fine because the pool was holding water. They then tried to tell us that we needed a structural integrity inspection even though we knew once again that the pool was fine. They finally came out and they tested the lines which were fine and they left. It took numerous phone calls for us to even get in touch with somebody to find out when they were returning to drain the pool. After wasting our time since early May they backed out of the job stating they couldn't see if the liner was in good shape. We know that the liner is fine as it is pretty new but this was their excuse once again to back out of the job. This place is horrible. They've wasted my time for over a month and a half and now I have to try to find somebody in late June to come do the work. I am so glad i did not pay them anything upfront as they would have probably took the money and never did the job dince thry backed out. I would not recommend them to anyone read more

Horrible customer service from "Jim" in reference to a concern that I had the day after they opened my pool. I actually called at 4:00pm on the day of service but a recording said they closed at 3:00. The website says they are open until 5:00. His tone was condescending and his demeanor was argumentative. The "jet" at the return valve wasn't moving water and there was no suction in the skimmer basket. I asked if he would send someone out to look at it and his response was he could sched me a "service call in 2 weeks". I told him that under the circumstance, his men had turned on the pump but not made sure it was working as it should that I was not willing to pay for a service call...his response was "then we're not coming". When I informed him that his staff had not made sure to screw the "eye" into the return he said it was my responsibility to give it to them. And since I hadn't asked I couldn't expect them to ask. He kept repeating they are "pool experts" but there was absolutely no expertise in the service. I WOULD NOT recommend them. read more

We had Better Pools resurface our pool in 2003. Now I know that is a long time ago, BUT, the plaster started "shedding" in about 5 years. We are having our pool resurfaced again and our current contractor said it's a VERY bad job - worst he's ever seen. They are having to practically remove all the plaster that Better Pools installed AND it will cost us about the same (at least BEFORE the added costs of having to "fix" what Better Pools has done). I would not hire this company again. read more

One week ago my husband purchased a cover for our pool. After not even one week he noticed that one of the seams was coming apart. He called the store and they said he would have to contact the manufacturer. This past Sunday 9/15/13 my husband went to the store with the cover and was given a credit but one of the worker's told him to never come back and to go shop at Leslie's Pool Supply. He also told him to get off of his property, We have been going to this store for over 30 years and if this is how they treat people we will take our business elsewhere. read more

This is the second year we've used this company (and the last). New to pool ownership we went to their store last year. The man at the store was very nice. We then scheduled an appointment to close our pool. It was extremely expensive and they refused to give us an appointment time. We waited all day for them to show up. This year we made the mistake of using them again. They were rude when making the appointment. They day they were suppose to come they called at 10am to cancel and got mad when we complained because we used a vacation day for it. When they finally showed up the next day it wasn't until 3pm (another wasted day). The one pool guy was quite which is fine but the other pool guy was rude. The women on the phone said he would show us how to close the pool. When I mentioned it he rolled his eyes and continued on with what he was doing. Each time I asked a question he was annoyed. After loosing a couple vacation days and a couple hundred bucks for them to 1/2 way close our pool, it is official. We will never use them again! read more
