During the pool opening, they saw that my heater was not installed according to the code. Safety issue. Great, very important, good to know. But instead of telling me about it, they quietly sabotaged my heater (literally pulled the wire) and didn't say anything while we were chatting after the job. Then, for several days ignored my emails only to come back with "we disabled it, pay us extra to return". Worth mentioning, they also padded my bill with a non-existent part (apologizing later, but only for that). Can you trust someone who would intentionally and sneakily break your equipment? Larry, Brittani, Tom, and others at LA Pools have provided all of our pool service for over 20 years. The negative comments on this site come as a surprise to me. I have nothing but superlatives for this company. I use them for opening, closing, and weekly maintenance. They have installed new filters, pumps, and heaters over the years. They have identified potential problems, suggested certain enhancements, and made timely recommendations. The entire crew are hard-working and understandably often quite busy. If Larry tells me they are tied up or won't be in my area until next week, I believe him. read more

I would recommend you avoid La Pools and Larry at all costs. He has been an unmitigated disaster. Poor quality work and so far( at least 6 months) he has failed to rectify his mistakes. He very rarely answer his emails or text messages. He has every excuse in the book as to why it hasn't been completed yet. Read other reviews. I wish I had. read more

We had a couple of things freeze/break after their winterization of our Jenkintown pool. It was an older pool, so I get it, things can break, but they came out 3 times to assess, order parts, and charged us for each visit and parts without actually fixing it (they always said they needed to order an additional part first) after bills amounting to over $300 and nothing yet fixed (on top of the $400 for opening and $400 for the previous closing) We cut bait and told them we would fix the issue through someone else. read more

Love these guys. Honest and knowledgeable. Larry and Brittany are an amazing team. Would reccomend them to anyone.

We've had our pool and hot tub for 11 years now and have "tested the waters" at all of the local businesses. The staff at LA Pools remains the same over the years with great costumer service and advice. They test the chemical balance of our pool and hot tub, and we purchase our chemicals, including liquid chlorine from them. Weekends in the summer the lines can get long, but it's worth waiting. Though , Larry did not put our pool in, he has come out to help us with some issues. He spent the time "teaching and explaining" good pool care and upkeep to us. The bill was not cheap, but it was fair. They don't try to over sell you chemicals, they'd rather you take step one, they come back to recheck the water to see if any other treatments are needed. This was refreshing and new to us. read more

FAIL !!!! I shopped for a new control system including a wireless connector for my Jandy system. They were not the least expensive but Larry was responsive and the person who answered the phone originally, cant remember her name was very positive and made me feel comfortable I was choosing an experienced company with resources and that is where it all fell apart. First the quote was wrong and I received an email blaming the distributor for not configuring it properly. OK- No big deal I needed it done. Then his subcontractor electricians arrived, belligerent clearly told me what they were not going to connect my system the way it was currently setup with landscape lighting and a connection to my off peak meter. When I told Larry about my concerns he told me not to worry about it he would take care of it. The project was started on August 2nd and is still not complete, they had very little clue about how the wireless component worked , when I followed up with Larry at the beginning of September I was told the electricians just received the switch they needed - one month later and I still have not heard from them. I followed up again recently and still not completion. At this point I am hiring someone else to complete the project and this posting is to warn the next person who may want to consider a project from LA Pools to beware. We all have challenges and what makes a company is their ability to follow up and complete promises made. FAIL!!! read more

This review concerns the store only, I have no experience with the services they may or may not provide. It is convenient and the prices are not horrible for the limited inventory they stock. The people they hire are decent enough but that is about the limit of nice things to say. I have encountered the middle aged gentleman who seems to be the main proprietor on several occasions. He has consistently been one of the least helpful, dismissive people I have ever met, working in retail. Today I went into the store looking for a specific product there was a young kid and the older guy there talking to a woman. When he finished the conversation with her he just walked away from me, though I was clearly waiting for help. He emerged a few minutes later behind the counter. When I approached him, he walked away. Not my only experience with this guy but clearly my last. I walked out and drove the extra 5 minutes to Leslie's Pool Supply in Warminster and spent my money there. If you don't need any help, they have the basic supplies, but there are better places to go. read more

Our project consisted of re-tiling, re-plastering and repair/replacement of mechanical systems. As with any home improvement project, we took our time to obtain estimates, review referrals and research online postings. Our decision was based on our overall experience with LA Pools. Our experience started by visiting their store while doing our research. As with most stores everyone tries to sell you something you don't need or want. This was not the case for us. Brittani was knowledgeable and made sure she answered all of our questions. (Having a store is critical in our opinion. In the event that you should run into an issue you can speak to someone face to face. Without a store you could have an issue with having un-answered emails or phone calls). Since the first day we met Larry the knowledge sharing and his ability to focus on our questions and not the general sales pitch was an indication that this was the right company. He has always been available to answer our questions and more importantly provide us with a product that we can enjoy for years to come. Prior, during and post project renovation the lines of communication were excellent. (Test Messages, emails and cell phone were all means of communication that we both utilized when we weren't meeting face to face.) We are extremely pleased with the overall project and would highly recommend their services. read more
