I really hate to give such a low rating to an otherwise solid coffee shop. The drinks and baristas were great, but the music was blasting both inside and outside -- and it wasn't even good music. Several customers, including myself, were clearly trying to work, and when I asked to have it turned down, the baristas said they couldn't because it's "controlled by corporate". That's incredibly frustrating. Management, take note: Listen to your customers when they make reasonable requests. It would make the overall experience much better. read more

Before this location opened, I had tried Better Buzz down in Encinitas, which didn't leave the best impression, but figured I'd try this new location again, as I live in San Clemente. My biggest complaint and reason for only two stars is related to the franchise as a whole. Specifically, why is so difficult to order a standard cappuccino here?! Better Buzz seems to define a "Big Gulp" sized cup as normal. This is NOT cappuccino. A cappuccino is usually 1 or 2 shots of espresso with milk, no more than 8 ounces. Their standard cups are huge, even for what you'd maybe consider a latte. Call it something else, if you're going to add that much milk, but it's not a cappuccino. Anyways, I had made this mistake at Encinitas once before, so at this location I had to instruct the barista to use their smallest cup (still too large). Problem is, I shouldn't have to explain sizing and milk proportions to a barista. Honestly, I have to subtract 3 stars for not understanding proper coffee drink sizes. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which they never inputted into the kitchen, so I had to wait 30 minutes for them to correct the mistake and get it out, but it was New Years Day, so I'll totally give them a pass on that error. I will say, when the sandwich came out, it was tasty and sized perfectly. Anyways, sandwich was good, but this place needs to google what a cappuccino or flat white is because their interpretation is completely insane. Who the fuck wants to drink 24 ounces of milk for breakfast?! read more

I was able to check out this new location last Friday and I was thoroughly impressed! Upon arriving I had no idea there was a drive through option but since the store was BUZZING with people I wanted to check out the inside. I loved that before entering the store there was a menu outside so you could take a closer look at all that is featured. I loved the selection of drinks but also the selections of other savory treats. I felt it had more selections than other coffee places I've been to before! Upon entering the store, I immediately loved the interior design. Seemed to match the vibe of the actual location-which has a nice view of the ocean!- and looked fresh and modern. I also noticed a well stocked area where you could purchase coffee beans and well designed merch. So yeah the design elements were very appealing to me! Upon ordering I will say I didn't notice if there was wait in line here sign but there was a little mix up between people waiting for drinks and the line to order. Once that was figured out I was able to order a holiday drink which was the Caramel Cookie Butter cold brew. The drink was so delicious and had the perfect amount of creaminess and sweetness. It was topped off with cookie crumbles that just elevated the beverage even more! I will say that the service was excellent and I received my Drink promptly despite it being incredibly busy! Manny and the rest of the team were getting orders out and still managed to provide customers with fantastic customer service and smiles! I also saw another team member serve a beautiful dog their Puppacino which was so adorable and a great way to end my first visit! read more
