    Lox and bagel

This was the best lox and bagel I've ever had!!! Good amount of salmon. With avocado included! Perfect balance of cream cheese, arugula, tomato and red onion plus bagel comes toasted with extra bagel seasoning! 10/10

Came here on a very wet day and surprisingly how tasty their Lox and Bagel is! So hearty and beautiful, filling up to the top with cream cheese, lox, avocado, tomato, onion, and capers. I had them all in a plain bagel and it was perfect! Service is very warm. While the cafe is simple nothing else matters here except its delicious Lox and Bagel. And of course I needed to try a maple donut to end my sumptuous meal.

My husband and I were craving a breakfast burrito after our one night stay at Doheny State Beach Campground and we came across Rose Cafe & Donuts. We came early Friday morning and it was packed. There were a lot of regulars where the owners knew their orders and everyone that worked there was so friendly. We ended up ordering the Supreme burrito to share (egg, sausage, bacon, ham, hashbrowns, and cheddar), maple donut, and a blueberry cake donut...they even added an extra blueberry donut for free! The Supreme burrito was delicious and I loved how there was so much filling compared to the tortilla. Most breakfast burritos i've had had way too much tortilla but this one had more filling. It was cut perfectly in half and the presentation was gorgeous. No wonder this place is a hit! Friendly service and amazing breakfast burritos. Next time I really want to try the ones with avocado in them :) Will definitely be back to this place whenever I am in the area!

It's not that easy to find a place that does a great bagel, lox, and cream cheese. But at Rose Cafe & Donuts, they do a great one! It's one of the best Lox Bagels I've had in Orange County. My wife and I both ordered the Lox Bagel (she had a plain bagel; I had the sesame seeds one). Piled on the two halves of the open-faced bagels were high-quality lox, lots of cream cheese, plenty of crunchy capers, avocado, arugula, tomatoes, and red onions. All of the ingredients were very fresh --- and even though it was the end of the day for the cafe (near 2 pm), the bagels were soft and delicious. Really first-rate. After devouring the lox bagel, we then got a terrific donut, covered in a maple glaze. Yum! We ate inside the cafe (it's a simple venue). The woman who served us and the owners were very friendly. The food was so good that it's worth taking a drive to eat there. And I'll be back!

Was craving a breakfast burrito on my way to San Diego. Decided to stop by here since it was off the freeway & im glad I did! They had a lot of breakfast burrito options and I ended up going with the supreme and grabbed a donut as well! Craving was satisfied and the service was great! Greeted with a smile and everyone was nice & friendly! Definitely recommend this spot

Consistently good. No wonder it is crowded all morning. Top 5 of not top 3 breakfast burritos in the San Clemente area. Supreme Breakfast Burrito: eggs, cheese, ham, bacon AND sausage. A marvelous combo. Enormous. I eat 1/2 for two breakfasts. The Wife loves the classic breakfast burrito with bacon. Huge apple fritter takes me 4 days to eat. The Wife loves the bacon maple donut. This time my fritter was pretty hard. I'm sure it's fresh, but maybe over cooked? I still ate it all!! Also, the salsa was a bit lacking. Can't put my finger on it. This place rocks and you should go. Owner is super nice and all employees friendly. I'll be back again and again. Go. Eat Well. HAVE FUN!!

We got the Supreme burrito. One without cheese and ham. These burritos are meaty. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the hash brown was crispy. The ratio of the ingredients was perfect and every bite was tasty! The breakfast burritos from Rose are definitely in my top two. We ordered takeout and my husband said the service was fantastic! Rose Cafe will definitely be one of our go two spots!

This store is really a one stop shop for everything breakfast. You want donuts, they have it... burritos, yep... sandwiches, sure.... Coffee, of course. I was making my way down South for a couple of hikes and I stopped here for a burrito which I can have for breakfast and lunch. At least that was what I was hoping for, just a very large burrito. I ended up with the CA burrito which has bacon and ham and sausage and eggs and avocado. I did not order the cheese or sour cream. The burrito did not disappoint... It was huge! I didn't know it, but what I ordered was one of the most popular item and I can see why. The burrito was truly large enough for me to have as both breakfast and lunch on the trail. The donuts looked so good but I refrained from getting one. Parking was easy. The service was super friendly and there appears to be a lot of regulars. Small inside and outside seating available. Please come visit to create your own experience.

First time here! The combo sandwiches were very fresh, savory, crispy, flavorful, and delicious. Also the nacho cheese Doritos were super crunchy and really tasty, and the soda was refreshing, too. Good service, nice atmosphere, and I had an excellent experience today.

We arrived early around 9 AM, and most of the donuts were already selling out. There was a line out the door and parking was pretty packed, so I definitely recommend coming as early as you can. This spot has been a staple for my friends for years, so I finally had to try it out. Even though the line was long, it moved pretty quickly. The staff is super friendly, and all of the donuts are made fresh every single morning. They open around 4 AM and usually close once they sell out, typically before 2 PM. We ordered their iconic blueberry glazed donut, which is a must-try if you're a blueberry fan. Each donut was about two dollars, and we grabbed a few. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, donut holes, and tons of fun donut flavors to choose from. The inside and overall ambiance are more on the older side, it feels like a classic donut shop you and your family might've gone to years ago. They have some indoor seating, but most of the tables are outside. It's a great area to stop by, especially if you're on the way to San Clemente and want some yummy donuts. I really enjoyed the fresh glazed donuts in the morning and would definitely recommend visiting.

Well, I didn't think I could give higher praise for this place, but enter the banana fritter. I'll start by saying I love key lime pie and the custard on the key lime donut is to die for. Give me a bucket of that and I'm done. I'm not even a banana fan, but one bite of this donut and my mind was blown. Deep fried goodness on top of caramel and banana sweetness makes your heart skip a beat. This is what all bear claws should aspire to be. This is the first time John, one of the owners wasn't there (but I get it, they opened a second location in Utah). Yet, the people who work here generally seem happy about life. I mean do they pay them in donuts?! There's talk about JD Flannel and Oliboli in Tustin duking it out for top spot, but the gap has only widened today for me. No disrespect to Oliboli because they're very good, but these donuts are on another level (cheaper/better value too). I only go here yearly, but I need to change that. This place is dangerous, but worth it.

Our go-to favorites are the chocolate cronut (dangerous), the glazed old fashioned, and their cake donuts -- the kind that remind you why donuts were invented in the first place. But here's what most people don't realize... The deli is a hidden gem. My wife's favorite is their American Mexi-Cal style breakfast burrito -- and for good reason. Huge, insanely good value, big crispy buttery potatoes, soft chewy tortillas, and a portion size that laughs at inflation. I recently had their Boar's Head deli-sliced ham and cheese on sourdough with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, and I genuinely don't have the vocabulary to describe how soft and perfect that sandwich was. It's not "good for a donut shop." It's just really good. But honestly? The food is only part of why this place matters to us. Our kids practically grew up here. Dave and Dani have known our family since before our kids were even born. They've seen both of our children grow -- literally from in the womb, to infants, to toddlers, and now our kids are 2 and 7 years old. We'll be posting photos through the years because... yeah, this place is part of our family history. That's not something you can fake. This is one of those rare neighborhood spots where you sit for hours in the morning, coffee in hand, talking with locals, laughing, and catching up. It's where the community actually feels like a community. The owners, Dave and Dani, are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. Dave is basically a big kid himself (especially when it comes to cars) and somehow always finds ways to surprise my kids with random little toys -- the kind of moments kids remember forever. I grew up in a small town in Virginia, out of my own mom's deli and convenience store -- where locals gathered over coffee, the Washington Post (and yes... cigarettes back then ). Living on the West Coast without family nearby, Niguel Bakery & Donuts gives me that same feeling of home. This is a place where kids can still feel safe like the old days -- riding bikes with friends, scraping together change for a snack... and if they're a little short and have been on their best behavior, Dave and Dani might just take care of them anyway. That kind of generosity can't be taught -- it's who they are. It's an East Coast bodega-style bakery/deli, right here in Laguna Niguel, and they don't just talk about community -- they show it through the countless non-profit events, food donations, and local causes they support. If you're looking for more than just donuts -- if you want great food, real people, and a place that feels like home -- this is it. We'll be here tomorrow morning. And the next day. And probably for years to come.

When I walked in at 7:45 AM (15 min earlier than my pick up time, bc anxiety), the staff immediately complimented my defense outfit -- instant confidence boost -- and when I said I was the person picking up "lots of coffee," they led me to the coffee, already packed and ready :') They all wished me good luck with the warmest, most dazzling smiles. They even included a note that said, "You got this~!" which I kept in front of me during my defense. (see photo) And I passed!!! Also, they gave me half-and-half and oat milk?? In this economy?? Oat milk is basically liquid gold. I felt so loved. So caffeinated. So non-dairy option supported. Usually after defenses, there is leftover coffee that people are trying to give away.
