First time getting something that was not breakfast and I loved it, perfect amount of food at great quality

Donuts and more! After finishing up a Costco trip across the street, we finally gave this place a try yesterday and it did not disappoint. Oh my, the grilled cheese though They have been recognized in local media for a special maple bar that's filled with bacon! Walk up counter ordering. There is an outdoor seating area.

Wasn't expecting such great food. Little hole in the wall that also sells donuts. Great fast and friendly.

We sat for probably 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, it was 3:30pm so it wasn't very busy, maybe 3-4 other tables. Every time someone came after that we had to wave someone down for water refills, never asked anyone if we wanted more drinks from the bar, nothing. Had my father in law asked for more ice tea and they never even started a new pitcher in 15 minutes. It was not busy. The place had a to of gluten free options which is a reason I wanted to try it. My server had no idea what gluten was. For a place that had half the menu marked as gluten free I was really surprised she really had no knowledge of the menu, but she was nice enough to go ask some questions when i pressed a bit that I wasn't vegan, and it was like an allergy. The food was good, portions were large enough and everything was pretty good as far as the food. Not sure why the service was so incredibly patchy and absent when we ate at 3:30 and the place was 2/3 empty. It was pretty good, I may try again but for the price point I think the service can be a little better. Nice...but slow. Definitely need more training on the menu! Mid. Not bad. Not great.

It has just the right amount of sweetness--neither overbearing nor watery like at other coffee shops. The ratio of espresso to chai is perfectly balanced. Carrot Cake: It's pretty good, though not exactly mind‑blowing. The texture is moist and dense, without any of that light, airy sponge quality you get from Paris Baguette. Winners Club Croissant: My absolute favorite part is the thick-cut braised bacon at the very bottom of the sandwich. Banana Foster French Toast: It is way too sweet and cloying for my taste. Although the indoor space is on the smaller side, the decor and setup create a wonderful, atmospheric vibe. This San Juan Capistrano location is their flagship store, and they also have a second location in Costa Mesa.

Stopped by here exploring San Juan Capistrano area en route to SD for Memorial day wknd. Just walked around the alley and saw a strip of cool old craftsman style homes converted to restaurants. I saw on yelp there was a Tea house. That is what made me walk down the ally. Found the tea house and took a pic. Directly across from there was Ramos house. There wasn't a line. It's on me that I didn't realize it was pre-fixe at $48/person on the weekends. So our party of 5 was outrageously expensive considering the fact that we ended up with way too much food and most of it was meh. For course 1, we got the beet and burrata salad, hush puppies, "salmon lox," beignets, and coffee cake. We could have been done after and would have had 1/2 the food leftover. The salmon lox was mild in taste, but nice. The beet salad was delicious, but would have been better with goat cheese. Hush puppies were good, but SO HEAVY. My kids had the beignets and coffee cake, which were served with a lot of syrup/sauce. Neither dish was finished and they were also SO HEAVY. For 2nd plates, we had the beef stew, flannel hash, crab hash, and 2 orders of the mac and cheese with duck confit and truffles. The flannel hash was outstanding. Everything else was meh. The beef stew was good, but the potatoes were unnecessary and there were bites of blue cheese that were disproportionately strong. The crab hash was not good even after adding salt and pepper. The egg portion of the dish was bad. The sweet potato crispies were overwhelming and ridiculous. And the large crab cakes were just totally lacking in flavor. The mac and cheese was also meh although it did reheat better the next day. But the portion of duck confit was light and I ended up with a large bone in my mouth when I had it as leftovers. I do not believe there were any truffles or even truffle oil in this dish, just mushrooms. In short, I would never go again on the weekend and would not even seek this place out on the weekdays. I wonder if the chef changed because the food was just so mediocre compared to before. The portions are very large so if that is of interest, they have that in spades. And the flannel hash was outstanding. So if you find yourself here, definitely order that. I hope a revamp is done on the food. If so, I would come again as the patio is absolutely lovely.

The place has a lively atmosphere that teenagers would enjoy a lot, and I saw so many teenagers there that day. They were taking pictures by the water, laughing together, and fitting into the environment so naturally that it made the whole restaurant feel even more vibrant. The marina view looked almost like a postcard, and teenagers especially seemed to love taking photos with the boats in the background, which made the place feel even more fun and creative. It was my first time visiting Proud Mary's, and I did not realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and took in the whole scene. I really appreciated how easy it was to have a good time there without feeling rushed. The staff kept everything moving smoothly, and the upbeat energy made the experience feel even better than I expected. I never doubted that the visit would turn out the way I hoped it would, and it honestly ended up being one of the most refreshing places I have been to in a long time. I have only visited Proud Mary's one time in my life before making this review, but it left a strong impression on me. The combination of the waterfront view, the friendly atmosphere, and the playful energy from all the teenagers around made it feel like a place that understands how to make people feel comfortable and inspired. I would highly recommend that teenagers go there because it gives them a space to relax, take pictures, enjoy the scenery, and feel creative.

Tasted like bad flour gravy with little to no potatoes or clams. Don't order this. My Cesar salad came with chicken, anchovies, croutons, and like 4 cherry tomatoes. The anchovies were whole and there were 3. I like that they asked if I wanted them (I did) but I wish they were chopped up instead of whole. The cheese on the salad was hard like it had been sitting out and the chicken seemed like it was some cheap breast defrosted. They could have grilled the chicken, had fresh black pepper to make it a lot better. The French fries on my son's plate were honestly sad looking. Cold and soggy. My husband ordered fish tacos and chili and admitted he's had better meals in his life. We drove pretty far to try this place and honestly wish we went next door for better food.
