Birria w cheese side of rice and beans.

Lovely staff. Amazing food. Definitely worth trying! Best birria tacos ever. Everything is so fresh.

Great place for quick Mexican food. It's a small place with some seating inside but not much. They do have a patio outside with plenty of tables and chairs. The staff is super sweet and the food is delicious. Don't forget to wash it all down with a Mexican Coke.

I was staying at a hotel nearby and was craving some carne asada fries and found birria fries instead! So I doordashed some! In hindsight it sounded good but I forgot how birria is made and didn't realize it would make the fries all soggy. I appreciate the staff accommodating to my avocado allergy and removing the guac and beans (just don't like beans) for me but I wish I had known there were going to be tomatoes in them since it wasn't listed in the description, I would have requested no tomatoes too. But it was good! I just wanted some crunchy fries! My boyfriend loved his taquitos and devoured it all. Would order from this place again! Food was hot and fresh.

Stop scrolling and place your order! After a long day of traveling, all I wanted was a quick dinner. I placed an order via Uber Eats for: 5 rolled tacos - shredded beef I asked for the crème and cheese on the side Requested a side of salsa Order of chips and salsa The food arrived quickly and I was so pleased to find a beautifully put together order. Rolled tacos had the Oaxaca cheese and creme on the side, as I requested. They were carefully plated and not overly messy. Crispy, not soggy at all. Great flavor. Good portion. I was so impressed that they included not one, not two, but FOUR salsas to choose from for my order. I can't tell you how many times I've paid for sides of salsa that aren't included when takeout orders come from other restaurants. Taqueria Luna included them along with my other items. This made my night !! It's such a small thing, but it was enough for me to write a yelp review. Food arrived quickly and was warm. Neatly packaged & fresh. I will 100% be ordering again. Thanks for a great end to a very, very long travel day!

Super solid taqueria on a cozy corner of del mar. Fun vibes, but not over the top. Burritos are great. Stuffed, and full of flavor. Wrapped in a stretchy flour tortilla fresh off the grill. Workers were solid, too. Getting orders handled with a smile. The cooks are back there running and gunning with a semi open kitchen concept. Definitely a spot to go to time and again

I walked by this quaint establishment earlier in the morning and decided to give them a try for dinner. I called and spoke with Roxy, she took out to go order. We ordered two chicken hard shell tacos and a birria (beef) quesadilla. We wanted onion and cilantro in everything. I arrived 7 minutes later our food was ready and waiting. The tacos were perfectly crispy. My quesadilla was perfectly crispy and a nice meat to cheese ratio. The consommé was flavorful. I would definitely go back. Great service and foods

Ended our 12 hour road trip with tacos by the beach. A well deserved treat after a long day! Parking along Del Mar was easy to navigate as people are usually coming and going so spots open up rather quickly if you keep an eye out. My fiancé got the chicken quesadilla and I got the 2 taco combo with rice and beans. The carnitas and fish tacos were delicious and the rice and beans were so flavorful. My fiancé loved his order as well and we both agreed the portions were huge - we were stuffed! Excellent price and service. Happy to have this place nearby.

Another experience in my hunt for the best breakfast burritos in the San Clemente Tri-State area (San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan). I tried multiple times to try Luna's BB in the previous location that used to be a KFC and Adolfo's (a YUM of the past). I never could figure out when they were open. Glad they settled on Del Mar. Ok, I made it here and it was open in their new location that used to be a sushi place. Didn't smell like fish, so that's good. I think this is a good location for them. Should stay busy. After reviewing the menu on the wall behind the counter, I decided on a Cali Breakfast Burrito. Eggs. Potatoes. Bacon. Avocado. Cheese. Sounds like the perfect combo. I grabbed a can of Diet Coke to enjoy while I weighted for the BB to be assembled and cooked. It's a small place with a couple of tables. Plan on take out if you are heading here. I was handed a bag with a very heavy breakfast burrito, a couple salsas and napkins. At home I cut that baby open and put 1/2 in the fridge for the next day. Good choice. The burrito was good looking, everything was nicely cooked and mixed well. My big disappointment was that the tortilla was not grilled. That is a pet peeve of mine and is required for a 4 or 5 star burrito. Bummer. The salsas were a green and a red that was a bit creamy or thick. The green was very watery and not much taste. The red was delicious and I wish I had more for the second half I had the following day. I can't define the taste, but it was good! All in all it was very good and top 15 in the tri state area. I'm will to again to try it out and see if they will grill my tortilla next time. Go. Eat Pretty Darn Good. HAVE FUN!!!

My ideal breakfast was just found! Ordered an egg, potato, cheese and pico burrito and it definitely is now my favorite! Besides the deliciousness of my burrito I had to have chips, spicy cream salsa, and a Diet Coke which all hit the spot when you are looking for that comfort breakfast. Prices are good considering how big the burritos are. I can make two meals out of one burrito, score. Service was great and my food was prepared to order and timely. Place is cute and has the right amount of ambiance looking out at Del Mar, a couple of tables inside and then plenty of space outside. I am so excited that I have found this little gem in my small town

Generally a good taqueria! The carnitas were juicy, tender, and meaty with great flavor. Fish tacos were grilled but served with a spicy salsa so request to hold it unless you like a small kick. A nice place for a quick meal and prices were fair considering the larger taco portion.

I had the birria tacos combo (3 tacos) and they were amazing! Lots of tender juicy meat, it was delicious. Rice was very dry and salty. Bean was decent. Consome was good.

This place is phenomenal!!! I just relocated from New Orleans, and was in search of a new mexican place. I decided to go with my sister, instantly when we walked in we were greeted, and asked what we would like. Me and my sister decided on the Birria quesadilla, and the birria tacos. They were to die for!!!! Staff was extremely sweet, brought up chips and salsa and asked us how the food was as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very laid back, and when you were done a server came by to pick up your plate. Fair prices as well, nothing too crazy. Also $2 tacos on Tuesday! Will definitely be back! Would help to have a website or social media person to up their flow of traffic but I do know that plays entirely into operational costs.

    Rolled tacos, so good!
    Amanda C.

I got the 5 rolled tacos (I already ate 2 lol so there's only 3 in the pic) but ya theyre soooooo delicious and they load it with Guacamole. A lot of places skimp on the meat inside for taquitos but this place is awesome and flavorful. Def will come back soon

Shrimp Taquito-amazing, tasty shrimp with nice spices and garnish, pinto beans well pureed and good. Mexican street corn-pretty good, a little heavy on the mayo. Food was good and solid, but not a WOW! There is better Mexican out there around here for the same or lesser prices, so don't go here for the value, go for the ambience and if you like drinks and/or expensive tequilas, they've got plenty of those too. Desserts were very generous, flan with caramel and candied pecans was delicious, creamy, firm, not flabby like some flans can be. Churros-rolled into a circle and fried, served with vanilla ice cream, caramel, candied pecans too. Desserts were the best part of the meal. I enjoyed eating here, once. Twice, I won't.

Great little town to explore. This was our lunch spot. We had already walked for a couple hours. Avila's is a beautiful restaurant and fairly spacious. Rafael was our waiter, and we ordered quickly. 1. Two taco combo platter, chicken and shredded beef. 2. Tacos and Caldo, my friend ordered with tacos. 3. Mama Avila's soup which came with chicken and lots of other things, and a tortilla. All 3 were delicious and filling. I always get a two taco combo plate since I love this meal, and to compare to other restaurants. This was great. The tacos perfect and flavorful. We will come back. Next time I will order the fajitas. I believe this is a chain with like 10 stores or so, so check to see if any are in your area. A very nice lunch with two fine lady friends as well. I have been jonesing for a good bean and cheese burrito for some time now. Over that time I have been very disappointed in the B&C burritos I have come upon. Some even from my trustworthy B&C places. This was my first B&C burrito from Chela's and was looking forward to their version. At the last minute, without warning, planning or any notice I ordered my bean and cheese burrito wet. I was feeling kinda wild! Also, I asked for some chips and salsa in the side. When it was rung up, the cost was quite high and it made me step back. So I did question the charge. I didn't realize that when I ordered chips and salsa the guy thought I meant another full order of large bag of chips and a pint of salsa, not the little bag and little cup you get with your order. A nice gal helped fix that and the order cost looked much more reasonable. Whew! Financial crisis averted. I sat down after getting my Diet Pepsi (won't hold it against them that they don't have Diet Coke). Soon after, I was brought a small bag of chips and some salsas. Get the chipotle and you will not be disappointed. Shortly after that my plate with a HUGE bean and cheese burrito with lots of sauce, cheese and a drizzle of sour cream. Check the pic out, it's a beauty. The taste did not disappoint. Great beans, ooey, gooey cheese inside and out. The wet sauce was great. I thought it would be a verde sauce, but it was red. Next time I will see if they have a verde version for me to try. Just a really great B&C wet burrito. Delicious. With the chips, I only ate half the massive burrito and am already looking forward to lunch tomorrow to eat the other half. I don't give out 5 stars to many places. They have to blow me away with food, service, consistency, on and on. Chelas is an order at the counter and they bring it to you kind of place. The people taking orders and bringing food are quite nice and always willing to see if you need anything. The food has been consistently very good. All wrapped up, it's one of my favorite places around. Great job.

Ten minutes after we left, when we were going to the game room, the waiter approached our group and made a big embarrassing scene in the lobby, demanding to know what was wrong with his service, asking why the tip wasn't 18 to 20 percent like the receipt indicated, and saying things like "I just want to know." He was very aggressive, very confrontational and highly unprofessional. And he handled the situation loudly, publicly, and unprofessionally and scared our children with his rude, aggressive way of speaking. If management wants to speak to him, he had dark brown hair shaved underneath and longer on top, brown eyes, and had a safety pin styled earring in his ear. He was fine during the dinner and we didn't observe any rude behavior and left happy and impressed with the restaurant but aggressively chasing older guests down in front of family, young kids, and other hotel patrons is beyond inappropriate and should be looked into by management.
