Suggestion to owner: Ham&cheese shouldnt be served raw this way from fridge and should be cooked already. And if not, microwave should not be suggested. I had a wonderful experience here at Donut House, was recommended by my co-workers who used to work here and stated that the donuts are really good. Upon arriving at Donut House around 9am on a Friday, there were a couple of customers before me coming out of the shop with boxes of donuts so you know it has to be good. I ended up with a sugar twisty, just one donut and I was caught off guard when she handed me the bag...she added a couple of donut holes. You guys, the twisty was only $1.95 and in this economy what a freaking steal! And you get a couple of donut holes too on which I ate later on that day since the twisty was just enough for me to get my morning going. Writing this review makes me want to take a road trip to San Clemente. My family and I recently stayed at the Surf Breaker Hotel and took advantage of its proximity to the Donut House. We kicked off each morning with donuts, muffins, croissants, and breakfast sandwiches. They even had a beverage menu with a number of elevated coffees. I personally loved pairing their chocolate glazed old fashion with a chai tea latte. Other favorites among our group included their tiger claw and the maple bacon donut. We visited the Donut House on our stay in San Clemente in April 2024. They had a wide variety of amazing donuts. The lady who owned the shop gave us extra donuts which were amazing and very generous. We did not have enough to tip her so we told her we'd come back the next day for more donuts. This was before we had even tasted the donuts. They were the BEST donuts we had ever had. They were like fluffy pillows of clouds of yumminess. It's probably a good thing I don't live there or else I'd weigh a lot more than I do now. Easy 1.5 mile walk from where we were staying next to the pier. We got 3 donuts & 1 bottled water & we were charged $15.02. We felt that the price didn't seem right, so we went back in & the lady over charged us by $6 and gave us our cash back. Donuts were good, not exceptional--- but if you want a donut or pastry this is where you should go. Just check your receipt before you walk away! Love their cake donuts. I bought the chocolate cake donut with nuts on the top. It was so delicious and not overly sweet. The lady was so friendly and nice.
