This is a brightly colorful and comfortable spot with a lot of entree options. You know those American style diners with lots of breakfast, lunch, and dinner comfort foods, and they're available any time of day? Now put a Mexican spin on that and that's Beto's King Burrito. For lunch my buddy chose a Mexican breakfast croissant from 20 options. I looked for the lunch specials and chose a you-pick-two meal. We were both satisfied The croissant was scrambled egg and cooked pork with a slice of American cheese (Really? No queso instead?). I had a steak tamale and chicken street taco with beans and rice. I had to confirm the tamale because cooked, chopped beef was scattered over a corn meal patty. It wasn't the traditional meat steamed inside corn meal dough. The chicken lacked seasoning but wasn't overcooked. Beans were a little thin; the rice was acceptable. There's a separate room that looks like it could be used for a group or special occasion. Beto's should appeal for solo dining, a date night, business meeting, or small group event.

    Breakfast "Burrito"

Half-sized burrito, full-sized price, and it's like 25% tortilla. I've had more filling in tacos. What a joke. How is this place getting good reviews?

First time here and was pleasantly impressed upon entering. Spacious, clean and comfortable with plenty of seating and a full bar to make the dining complete. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable with the menu and there to help. They serve 2 types of salsa with the chips and one is a bit spicier than the other. I had Beto's King Burrito and it was loaded with , beef, chicken, chorizo, pork, shrimp , beans, rice and other goodies all seasoned perfectly and it may be my new favorite. Husband had a chicken dish that was great, chicken grilled and seasoned then topped with cheese sauce, grilled onions and peppers served with a side of broccoli, beans, rice and mixed grilled vegetables. This restaurant is somewhat off the beaten path but definitely worth your patronage.

Nice new place that just opened up. The food was good but the margaritas were delicious. Service was very kind and attentive. I would go back again to try new items on menu. The restaurant was festive with beautiful colors.

    Fun, cheerful and colorful interior!

What a cheerful, colorful interior! SO close to home, and a new business, which I like being able to support. I WANTED to love this place. Really did. So much so that I gave it several tries. In total, I tried a burrito, taco, omelet, pancakes, churros, tostadas, torta, beans, rice, chips, and both salsas. And the service was good. However, it's a huge NO for me ever again. The chips only taste like grease. Both salsas are HOT HOT HOT and I am not a wimp. I love hot sauce, until I was diagnosed with a very serious and rare health condition and now can only have the occasional mildest of spice, and most Mexican restaurants in the area have a mild sauce or salsa which can accommodate me. Not Betos. The reason the sauce/salsa played such an important role is that I found the food very bland without something to zhuzh it up a bit. Everything tasted like grease and nothing more. Not even the beans and rice!! The use way too much oil on their grill, and erven the grilled veggies in some of my selections were nothing but a greasy oily taste of mush. The omelet was WAY overcooked! It was a greasy rubbery mess filled with some good things that were, again, too greasy. The taco---oh my the taco. Not only was the fillings too greasy, but the double corn tortillas holding the taco fillings was NOTHING but an oil soaked soggy mess. The best item I ate there were the churros and the chocolate chip pancakes. The pancakes were good. But, not as good as somewhere else I often get them, and for a better price. For three pancakes with nothing else included, the price isn't great. The churros came with unexpected ice cream, and it was delicious, and amazingly, the churros were not greasy. I wonder if they are made at Betos? That being said, I do not go to a Mexican restaurant to eat pancakes. I only ordered them out of desperation to find ONE thing on the menu I liked and that weren't grease-soaked, because my partner really likes Betos' food. And we both loved the churros. So, taste is a personal thing. Your mileage may vary here. For me, I will only go again when my partner absolutely insists on eating here. And I will eat chocolate chip pancakes at a Mexican restaurant when Mexican restaurant foods are one of my two favorites. I REALLY wanted to love Betos. The service and ambiance are great, but for me, the food is lackluster, way too greasy, and bland. And pricey for food that isn't great. Perhaps I'm too amigo to enjoy the food? I don't eat the more adventurous offerings because I am vegetarian. Eating vegetarian at Mexican restaurants in the area is easy, and tasty--just not here where everything is a greasy soggy bland mess. I'm rating two stars because my partner likes it, it's a cheerful atmosphere, and the service is good. Otherwise, I would only rate it a one star.

We've been here at least five times since they opened. The food is alway excellent no matter what we order. The service is always amazing as well. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. The decor and vibe is thumbs up as well. It is a hidden gem in a small strip mall off old 94. Thanks BKB!

We just ate here for the first time and it was fantastic! They brought out two kinds of salsa with the chips to choose from and I really loved the flavors of both of them. I got the quesabirria as an entree and it was very tasty. They were very substantial and I definitely have enough leftovers for another good meal. We also ordered a mango margarita and I'm not usually a margarita person but I really liked theirs. I'll definitely be back soon!

a bar with tables and chairs

All of the food was excellent, but the Gordita was especially delicious! (The waiter said they make them daily) House Margs were good and the chips were light and crispy. Large menu with tons of options. Friendly service...We will be back

It was decently busy for a Wednesday night but there was plenty of bar seating. The decor is beautiful and I especially appreciated their carefully curated glass and tableware--all stunning. Our bartender, whose name I fail to remember, was excellent. She had great beer recommendations. We tried the Hefe Weissbier (my favorite, which paired perfectly with both appetizers), the Meteor Pils, and the Gaffel Kolsch. I'd recommend all of them if you're a beer drinker! The spinach dumplings are a must. They are bursting with spinach flavor and swimming in a rich brown butter sauce. We also tried the alpine dip, which comes with an enormous soft pretzel. It was okay, but the dip wasn't exactly what we were expecting. I'd probably pass on the alpine dip next time. Overall an amazing experience and I look forward to enjoying a full meal there next visit. Be advised that they pride themselves on seasonal menus so if you're eyeing a menu item, get yourself there to try it before it's gone!

I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

The link was clunky, and after working through it laboriously, we managed to cobble together a 40.00 drink order combined. This is where the real trouble began. We were using two different devices for two different orders. On both orders we had trouble finding the "shots" option. One party eventually did. The other order kept defaulting to adding pretzels (required by law to get alcohol to go, apparently) even though we were planning to stay on site. Finally decided to just do one order and managed to shed the pretzels. We did all of this chaotic legwork instead of chatting and being out... and then the order asked for a tip. Normally I'm one of those huge over tippers- 20% minimum, usually 30% or more, but this gave me pause. It's like being asked to tip at Walmart. I just mucked through Narwhals computer system as free labor and they want me to tip? No. Didn't matter anyway because there wasn't an option to pay on either phone. We left and went to Firebirds for happy hour instead. It's 400 feet away, fantastic drinks, great price, patrons don't have to work for free, and there is an actual reason to tip. Ironically, the payment option for Narwhals showed up after we left. Maybe it was a signal issue? Ha. Jokes on them. If you go to Firebirds, I'd recommend the cherry old fashioned or the pineapple martini. Both excellent. Can't say about Narwhals and I won't be back to ever find out.
