I was concerned that after numerous other "repairs" by others since we bought the house in 2013, that more single shingle replacements would just weaken the roof further. With that, we set out to replace the roof entirely. AWR&R worked directly with our insurance company and took care of everything. Fast, and effectively. Presently, in June of 2022 I haven't lost a single shingle since this roof installation. Very satisfied with the work, and the longevity thus far.

During the installation, the workers found that the measurement for one window was incorrect, and one piece of glass of a new window was broken during installation. The old windows were already removed and damaged. Because of this, we had to live with plywood board patches for the whole holiday season until the replacement came in on Jan 10, 2023. We were told the windows have life time warranty. We thought we would not need to worry about the foggy issue anymore. However, on Oct 30, 2023, after a big rain and a sudden temperature drop, we found three pieces of glass with moisture trapped and fog. Greg Ginther was contacted, and he came and confirmed that three windows need a glass replacement. He said that the new windows would be delivered within 6 months and he would contact us when ready. This never happened. Recently, we found a big piece of exterior window trim missing and water damage. We contacted Greg - no reply. Called his number - directly went to voice message. Our messages were read and later blocked. We are easygoing customers and seldom complain. But in this case, it is outrageous that we spent around 20k and ended up in such a big mess.

Professional roofers with an experienced crew:…read more We had our roof installed around 2 weeks ago. I keep noticing little details and extras that Mascon planned and executed. We meet with 3 companies prior to selecting Mascon. Dwight, our project coordinator with Mascon, knew more about roofs and options than any of the competitors. He was able to assist us in selecting the best value for our home. (Call the homeowners insurance to determine coverage discounts based on shingle selected). He knew I had cast iron pipes without being told and could anticipate that a competitors suggestion to move a vent pipe would have been costly and risky. Dwight provided the perfect suggestion about the color of shingle. I live across the street from artists and they approve! My favorite thing about working with this trusted, local company, is that I didn't need to get a PhD in roofs and become the supervisor to the contractor. After the installation, I am noticing how the vents were painted to match the shingle color. I love the look of our cricket behind our chimney. Our Patio cover is tied-back into the roof. We never discussed the details about how they would handle this specific region of the roof. I reviewed it today and they planned and executed this so well--without me pointing it out or pestering them to create a solution. This installation was performed during the pandemic. The crew used appropriate social distancing measures with the customers. Dwight always wore a mask when interacting with customers. (The competitors did not want to wear masks during consultation). The crew worked really well together and created a beautiful roof! I am so appreciative of Mascon's work! In summary: excellent consultation process with project manager from Mascon, most experienced crew of the 3 roofers we interviewed, crew received supervision from project manager on the day of installation, the crew was very thoughtful about clean up of the site (used tarps around the house & used magnets to find any stray nails on the ground). I love my roof!

All of our solar panels, roof, windows, fencing, and personal items were ruined, I had never experienced a hailstorm like the one we went through that night, The next morning I posted pictures on FB and my solar guy reached out to me and he was telling me about A1 General Contractors. At first it was all good my roof got done in 2 months, along with my gutters, I'm still waiting for my back downspout to be installed it's been since December 2023, and they still can't seem to get it installed. My solar panels finally got installed, I was on the phone and emailing back and forth with my solar company until they were able to get them installed. Then came the interior fix to which I'm not happy with. The painting company that A1 put to do my interior was ok but they were not very throughout, they got paint on my foyer chandelier, my hallway and stair light fixtures (3) paint on my tiles which slowly I'm getting the paint off because the paint is in the grout. They got paint on my bar accent wall to which we are going to have to repaint. In the mancave they got several paint spots on the carpet and did a poor job on a wall that had to be redone and didn't wait for the mud to dry and repainted that wall and now there are paint and mud clumps on that wall. i still haven't gotten my windows replaced or my fence done because I was told that there is no more money to get those items done. I was told to call my insurance to get them to give me more funds for those 2 items. I have tried to call, text and have left several messages for Andre Calixto and have not heard from him since July 2024. Some of our neighbors are in the same boat it seems that we gave him our trust to fix and repair our homes and he just ghosted all of us. He was more worried about his overhead profit. Every time he came out or was talking to my insurance people those words always came out. I trusted him and his company to get the job done and he has failed at doing so. I entrusted him with over $60,000.00 to get all and everything that needed to get done and on top of that my husband did some or most of the little jobs to save money to put towards our windows and fence. I went over my paperwork and supplied my insurance company with invoices and found out that A1 will have to payback some money to our insurance company. Our neighbors and us have not been able to contact him since July-August 2024. All of us would like to get our jobs done and get back to our normal lives if only Andre would get in touch with us. Seems like he just took our money and ran.

We purchased an entire new metal roof system from them approximately 7 years ago in 2018 and also a…read morematching new metal roof in 2024 for our garage building. At the time of installation in 2018, they did not replace the existing flashing from the original 18 yr old asphalt roof around our chimney. They did not consult us about this decision nor give us an option as to their recommendations on leaving the previous flashing intact or what the additional cost would be to replace (and match) the flashing to the new metal roof (which didn't even match!). We only noticed after the fact that they did not replace it and when we inquired about why it wasn't replaced, they told us they didn't bother replacing it b/c it looked like it was in good shape so they left it....Turns out it wasn't! Fast forward to only 7 years after the brand new metal roof was installed to the summer of 2025 when we had a lot of rain. Water came in our living room ceiling, dripped down the walls and windows, and pooled on the floor. A crack had developed in the solder joint around the chimney flashing (which we were told was in good shape!) which resulted in causing water damage inside our home. Now we are looking at a total of about $10,000 worth of damage to pay for water restoration, new sheetrock/insulation/possibly decking/frame, proper roof/flashing repairs around the chimney, and drywall installation/paint/texture/repair. The company took forever to get back with us and are not willing to pay for their error or properly repair their mistake. We could understand if they communicated with us at the time of install about our options (to either replace or just leave the chimney flashing) and they offered to put on new flashing for an additional amount at purchase and we decided against it. We were not given that option. They made an error in judgment and it's cost us time, money, and frustration. We were very patient with them reminding them that we chose to work with them bc of their good reputation, good reviews, and good BBB A+ rating. I hope they learn from this and this doesn't happen to anyone else. They need to communicate more thoroughly with their customers before making such decisions that could prove costly for them down the road especially knowing that they will be on their own to pay for their (1st Capital's) mistakes.
