I loved this place until I met the most disrespectful bartender-- DERMOT. I came in completely sober last night and asked for water and he told me he wouldn't give me anything--- not even water!!! All because he "doesn't like me" I have a few other people I know who have had experience similar to this with this specific bartender. I truly hope the owner of this establishment decides he should go so that people who live in this neighborhood can enjoy coming here again. read more

This place is worse than a pigsty I mean the bathroom is so nasty for the men piss all over the floor the door to the toilet hasn't worked in a year I mean the toilet you have to flush it 10 times just make it go down I gave up I thought maybe they would get better but they don't care about their own bathrooms and it's just disgusting The bartenders will get mad at you if you don't give them at least 20% tip when they give you 5% service they have their locals and their VIP friends and even if you're there first they're going to serve their friends ahead of you and then still want 20 to 30% tip. Stopped by after work for a burger and a beer. Kitchen was closed at 10 pm, not the advertised 11 pm so no food, but if you like off-key karaoke bouncing off the concrete floor and steel ceiling, played at such an ear splitting volume that the staff can't even hear your order correctly when you shout it at the top of your lungs, this place is for you! read more

Sept 2021. Great improvement since my 1st review. I recommend the owners show up once in a while or hang up a photo of yourselves. I love salt, but the pinto beans and the brisket tacos were soooo salty tonight. Food Prices are back to pre-covid but fair. Unless you spend $ to play decent music, the tunes jukebox plays pretty bad music. I wish they would Play more country music. Maybe tunes decides that. Who knows. Lot's of regulars go here. Friendly people. 2 Pool tables, karaoke on fri & sat but tends to be lots of hard rock or just bad music. read more

Stopped by to meet a friend before another engagement. This was close to our next stop so we decided to meet here first at 3:45 on a Friday. I do not know why this place only has 2.5 stars? Whats up wit dat Yelp!? It's nothing pretty to look at, a hold in the wall, but the service was great, the drinks very reasonable, and the regular folks quite welcoming. Everyone was relax, outgoing, and generally just enjoying themselves with good company and stiff drinks. I also decided to have a BLT sandwich. Totally delicious. After seeing mine, my friend decided to have one, too. He wasn't disappointed either. After being here I feel like singing: Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same. He ignored me , again I asked his name was McDermott he then asked me to leave and not come back due to what he had heard I was disturbing costumers, and I voiced discrimination due to my ethnicity. Legitimately I am only yelping so Management pulls their head out of their ass. As a service industry patron, it is important that I list what I like first.. Robin is FIRE/THE ONLY REASON I COME BACK, but playing poker is fun also ... however, that is it as far as positives go. Management has never been seen in my tenure. Prices are absurd for the corresponding economy and their 'happy hour' isn't that happy. That being said, my complaint falls to the restroom. I should not walk into the ladies room before even ordering and wanting to vomit. The stench alone could cause a cactus to die. They do not bleach a thing and there is never any toilet paper. I come here often due to the company but out of all the places in DFW, this is no destination. I do not know who owns this place, but they should reconsider their career choice because they clearly have no business running a bar/restaurant.. food is barely digestible and the cooks leave without cleaning. Sadly, this establishment wouldn't pass health code even if they paid them off. I'm surprised Bethany Tavern is still open. Unless you enjoy Texas Holden, I recommend not coming here. read more

I've been coming to this bar since it first opened under the name of Chris's 19th hole then the Dirty Rooster and now Bethany Tavern. In all the years I've been coming here I've never had a bad experience. It was my cheers where everybody knew everybody and the wait staff has always been friendly and prompt. I loved this bar and always recommended this place to my friends UNTIL NOW!!! Last nite I had dinner at Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House. On my way home I decided to stop have a couple beers see my friends and shoot some pool. Since I spent nearly $300 dollars on dinner I asked Dermitt if he could put my left overs in the refrigerator as I didn't want it to go to waste because I did spend so much money on it. He replied he's not supposed to. I told him how much I spent on it so he said ok he'd do it this time. Later that night I was walking to the bathroom and slipped on a broken piece of glass and strained a muscle in the upper back of my left leg. It hurt so bad I could barely walk. I knew it was probably just a strained muscle and I would probably be fine in a couple days. Dermitt saw me limping and I took a picture of the piece of glass for my own protection. All of a sudden Dermitt treated me as if I was public enemy #1 he cut me off and tabbed me out. So I went out got in my truck and sent my son in to get my food. Dermitt told my son that he told me he couldn't do that and he threw it away. If he had told me that I definitely would have chose to go home instead of staying spending money and losing my food which we still had half of it left so I lost $150 worth of left overs. Justin and Lauren are two of the best bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. Love them they do a great job!!! But Dermitt has no business being in charge he always seems to be in a bad mood never smiles and like last night makes terrible business decisions!!! If somebody got hurt in my place of business I would do everything in my power to make them happy to assure I wouldn't be sued but Dermitt did just the opposite by treating me like shit. So that's when I decided to go to the emergency room and get checked out. And after sitting there for 2 1/2 hours. It turns out I did have muscle strain. They gave me two prescriptions and sent me home with a note to allow me to miss work for the next two days. So on top of losing $150 worth of food I also am missing two days of work. Dermitt's a liar and a thief he changed his story after I got hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if he took my food home and ate it himself. I'd be very curious to see in the camera what he did with my food as I know for a fact he didn't go to the trash can. Make sure and look at the 5 pictures I posted. If you are looking for a local "hot" spot in Allen on Friday's or Saturday's, this is it. That means, there is nothing else. I hang out there on Saturday's for the karaoke, (someday I'll learn how to spell that), but you can also go there on Friday's for live music. The bands all play "cover" songs so the music is familiar. The owner is working on fixing up the place as it looks like it feel on hard times for awhile, so ladies, if it's restrooms you rate a place on, they are being remodeled. There is a sports bar menu of things to eat and if you hang out there often enough, the wait staff remembers what you like to drink. Always a good time, always a good crowd. Age range from 21 to 70. Must be 21 to enter after some hour that I've forgotten. Cover charge on weekends. read more

We just happened to stumble upon this place to quench our thirst. Uh, yep, it's a smokey sports bar. On a Sun afternoon it was pretty busy around the large bar. Place is old and outdated for sure; needs some true cosmetic attention. Furniture, wood floors and carpet worn and show years of use. However, a plus was the sole, very busy, frenzied bartender on duty who was funny, friendly and apologetic about any potential long wait for service as he was the only person on duty this afternoon, aside from the cook. Everyone in the bar area (probably regulars and those smokers from Plano banned to Allen to enjoy their puffs) seemed to be having a great time; lots of bantering and laughter. I am not a fan of bar food but was starving so had the humongous chili dog. It was just a huge dog, nothing special. Ate about 1/5 of it which stopped the rumbling tummy. I sincerely hope there are no repercussions later tonight. Beer was icy and cold....a good thing. Would probably not go back unless I happened to be in the area and thirsty, but not hungry for food. Just another of life's many experiences, some of which are not that great. read more

If you are looking for a smokey bar where the mixed drinks taste like Listerine and your credit card will be billed incorrectly, this is the place. You will smell like an ashtray the moment you walk out of Bubba Moose. This place seriously needs to be renovated, especially the ventilation system. I don't care about being around smokers or cigarette smoke but this entire place is smothered in a smokey haze the minute you walk in the door. It stings your eyes and just sits in your clothes. Air this place out and this will be the perfect dive bar if you like that sort of thing. read more

I really enjoyed coming to this bar until I realized dermit the bartender is nothing but a liar. My dad went to chamberlins to have dinner with his girl, and he spent 300 dollars on that meal. Now he had almost a whole steak left. He asked dermit to save it in the fridge, and dermit told him he wasnt supposed to do that, but he would do it for him. Then later that night my dad slipped on a piece of glass and pulled his hamstring and injured his lower back. I had to rush to the bar to take him to the emergency room. When I got there dermit was acting like he didnt know what happened to my dad. Which was a complete lie. He even made sure he got the piece of glass from my dad. He was probably mad that my dad took a picture of it. Whenever I went back inside to get my dads food. Dermit told me he threw it away, and he had just told my dad what he wanted to hear. So he admitted to lieing to my dad. Then my dad went back inside and I went with him, my dad was asking him to give his food back. Dermit responded with I never told you I was going to keep it. Now he just told me he did say that to him. But he was trying to make my dad look like a liar. I have never seen my dad lie to anybody in my entire life. F you dermit. Could be a good place but I wouldn't know because we didn't even finish our drinks because it was too smokey. Pitty because I just moved to the area and it's right down the street. It's so bad it hits you in the face as soon as you open the door. People seem friendly. I'm not a complete snob about smoking just get some decent air filtration and I'll come back.
