We've stayed here many, many times over the years. This last time we just got a normal room with a king bed. Big mistake ... should have gotten the suite as we have in the past. The entryway is barely wide enough for the luggage cart, and once you get inside if you sit at the desk it's difficult for anyone else to walk behind you between the back of the chair and the foot of the bed. This new Wi-fi system is pretty awful, too. It seems that if you look away from your device for a moment, it makes you sign in again, and of course on a handheld device the sign-in page is tiny. Why does anyone do this with all the modern ways of making a responsive web page? Mystifying. I think our T-Mobile LTE was faster than the Wi-fi. Thanks to Gavin Newsom, you get a carry-out bag instead of a real breakfast. Parking during the day can be an issue because local businesses park in the hotel parking spots even though there are signs asking them not to. By late afternoon, parking is no longer a problem, though. read more

NASTIEST PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I personally travel quite alot, been to many different types of hotel in different parts of the world, from 3 stars to 5, ive seen ALL types of hotels. BUT THIS ONE IN PARTICULAR WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. We came here cause we had to travel here all the way from the south bay to compete in a huge cross country meet, Clovis Invitational. ***Room 208*** we had been real tired from the four hour drive, and had not noticed all the foul properties that it fully had. So we slept at 10 ready for a big day the next day. when i wake up my friends on the other bed start waking me up @ 4 in the morning to tell me how distusting their bed was. there WAS DRIED BLOOD STAINS, BED BUGS EVERYWHERE, AND THERE WAS SQUISHED BEDBUG STAIN ON THE BED AS WELL. I ALMOST THREW UP!!! things were not looking so good at this point. and the receptionist did very little to help because the manager wasn't there. The management didnt even help us out. gave us a very small amount of discount for the room to compensate. AND THATS ALL?!!? what about the cost of my trip to the doctor?? and my unplesant itch of bed bugs, and all the clothing that i had to throw out??? bags i threw out as well??? and the "ptsd" that followed??? WHOS GONNA PAY FOR ALL THAT? Stayed here on a Saturday night when i was in town for a wedding. Very cozy place, clean and friendly staff. Looks like a older place with some updated touched. I booked on Hotwire, so couldn't beat the price. Perfect for what we wanted. I also loved the location! My only complaints were, 1. The breakfast area, it was so small, with only about 2 table and less than 10 chairs. The tiny room got so packed that we passed on the breakfast, even after a night of drinking. 2. when we checked in, someone was painting the lobby, so it had a fresh paint smell and the furniture was all over the place. BED BUGS....Stayed here because it was the nicest affordable hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only issue that scared me was the bed bug bites when I woke up in the mornings, disgusting, they didn't do anything about this issue...I mean, it's a hotel so my expectations aren't very high unless I'm paying big money for the room. They had a Continental breakfast in the mornings. Had an issue with the key card for the room, I guess they get de sensatized easily, my phone did it and had the lady at the front desk just re key it , easy fix.. convenient spot to stay right in the heart of downtown and all weekend they had farmers markets , easy drive to Sprouts market down the street. read more

I have been staying here for 3 weeks for work and have to comment on this place. My typical hotel stay is usually only one or two nights, but even then I would have a few things to say. I think that the biggest problem here is that everything is just OLD. I have stayed in a couple different rooms and none of the fixtures are the same...different shower heads, lamps, etc. The last shower head had 8 settings that were all the same. I don't know when their cleaning crew comes, but some mornings the smell of cleaning solution is so strong that it is hard to eat breakfast. Some of the staff is very friendly but others are just kinda there. I noticed the Wi-Fi doesn't work, but you can borrow an ethernet cable from the front desk. I'll stay here again the next time my boss books me a room, but I would not bring my family here. read more

Very satisfied with our stay. No issues and turned out waaayy better than I expected. They had everything you'll expect from. Nice hotel of an affordable price. Staff was attentive and very welcoming. They gave us the first floor before I asked because I had my 18 month old, obviously pregnant and gave my husband the key before completing checkin to settle the little one down ASAP. The room had everything I expected: a coffee maker, a microwave, full mini fridge, and extra bath and bedding supplies. BTW the breakfast alone was delicious compared to many complementary hotel breakfasts I've had and they START SERVING AT 5:00 am!!! I travel a lot and I usually miss breakfast because they start to late and end too early. I think breakfast stopped at 10 but I checked out way before then. The common kitchen area was open 24 hours and stocked with supplies and fruits, milk, cereal and hot water to make coffee and coco. Also there seem to be a lot of restaurant and bars around the corner which I'm looking forward too when I could indulge in the future . read more

Okay so I had a bad experience when I arrived but it got better so I can give it at least 4 stars. We were at a company event and they paid for the hotels. We booked 2 rooms with 2 beds each and when we arrived they could not find our reservation. The guy at the desk was being VERY RUDE though the entire process. Once they found the reservation, they only had 1 room for us with 1 king size bed.. There was 6 of us! The hotel was fully booked so we were going to be screwed. Lucky for us 2 of the other guests at the picnic didn't need their room so we ended up with 3 rooms! After the entire fiasco was finally figured out the front desk guy changed his attitude. He was very nice about everything else we needed and stopped being a dick. The room we got was nice, the bed was a bit too firm and the pillows are weirdly small lmao but it's a good hotel. If I'm in clovis again, I would stay again.. I would bring my own bedding, but I would stay read more

Check in was smooth. Room was clean. Options for housekeeping every day. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast was decent but wouldn't recommend the eggs. Snacks like cereal, yogurt and coffee available throughout the day. Hot tub was hot and worked well. Elevator was broken and We stayed on the 3rd floor. Location was exceptional, close to coffee shop, restaurants and bike path. So glad there was a fridge and microwave in the room. read more

The hotel staff is amazing, and deserve 5 stars. I happened to check in on a day where they'd been painting on the first floor, and I have to say, the smell is fairly unbearable throughout the entire facility. If I had the option to go to another hotel, I'd probably jump at it. But hey, let's be fair. This isn't their fault, heck, paint can STINK, and I"m glad they are sprucing the place up. The front desk gave me a fan to air out my room, and was so helpful, that they deserve the four stars, regardless of my offended sniffer. Overall, the hotel could use a bit of modernization, but for a one night stay, it has everything I need. Hopefully the next time I am through town, the painting is over! I've stayed here on about 5-6 different occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff is always all very friendly, and the rooms always very clean. They have a continental breakfast every morning, and I've been told by my husband and sister that it's pretty nice. (I don't usually get up early enough for breakfast, but I don't mind.) The lobby is welcoming and a cute place to enjoy a cup of coffee and read the paper. They are in the absolute most perfect location in Old Town. Go have dinner at Salsa's - you won't regret it. On Friday nights in the summer they have the biggest and best farmers markets/festivals. Make time to go to that, there's tons of local vendors and businesses, yummy foods, and live music for dancing in the street! I have family in Clovis, so this will continue to be my go-to hotel as long as they stay this great! read more

Stayed here for two nights as part of a legal conference. Have stayed here before and it was pretty good. But this time there were a lot of people making a lot of noise in the halls, and drinking outside the front entrance until midnight. I complained to the management, but they didn't do anything. Called several more times and it just kept going on. Very frustrating. read more

I love the location here in walking distance from several nightclubs and restaurants the rooms are tidy a few of them have balconies.

I come to the Clovis area about once a month to visit family. I've stayed at a few different hotels in the area. This was my first time here and from now on I will only be staying here. Every time I stay at this Inn, I find another reason to love it. Being from the hustle and bustle of Southern California, it is a sweet and simple pleasure to simply wake up in charming Clovis, which is less than a mile from where you may need to be. The inn itself looks beautiful and like something from the south instead of cookie cutter like most hotels. The front desk staff wants to do anything they can to make your stay a pleasure. Overall experience: 4 stars! The location is gorgeous, right off the Main Street of Clovis. We were checked in quickly and our room was very nice. Some downsides were the hot tub was luke warm, so we decided to not go in. The continental breakfast was pretty small but ok. I feel the biggest downside for me was the mattress was pretty uncomfortable and the pillows were rock hard. The upsides were that the little sample lotions and hair products were very good! I was surprised by the quality of the hair products since my hair is pretty frizzy and doesn't do well with cheap products. I also enjoyed how clean the room was and that our room was right next to the elevator. The last thing is when checking out we noticed that the room rates were lower than we were originally quotes! This is a fine place to stay in Clovis. Suite room was big and comfortable; nice and clean with good amenities like a refrigerator, coffee and a really thorough breakfast, although it be nice if it was open until 10 am instead of 9 am. There's a lot of competition for the food and it would help with the crowding to keep it open another hour. The roll away bed is horrible, though. read more

Stayed here 3/17/2017. Went through Priceline for an express deal and ended up at this hotel. At first I was upset as I came on here and started reading the awful reviews. Had no choice but to see for myself. Truth be told expectation was not high. Arrived at 4:30 pm check in was a breeze. The hotel itself is old,but the location was prime. Right in the heart of Downtown Clovis. Surrounded by eateries, pubs, and small businesses. Everything was walking distance, especially my personal fave, Le Parisien cafe. There are 3 floors, the elevator was insanely slow. But wasn't a deal breaker. We were assigned to the 2nd floor. Still kinda nervous as I was afraid I was going to see all the stuff that I had seen from previous yelpers photos. Opened the door and it was not bad AT ALL. The room was very roomy. I checked the bed, the first thing I do with all my hotel stays. Checked the pillows, they were clean. The bedsheets were clean. They had extra blankets by hallway entrance. We had a refrigerator and a microwave , always a plus since I'm traveling with a small child. There was also a pretty decent size dining area big enough to accommodate 4 people but there were only 2 chairs. Updated flat screen tv with basic cable. The bathroom was large but had a strong cleaning solution scent so I cracked the windows, helped a lot. Forgot to mention I had a king size bed and it was very comfortable, not hard at all. Some people said the walls were thin, I didn't really hear much, except later on during the night as the pubs were calling last calls there were some people talking amongst themselves in the parking lot. It didn't really bother me but I could see why it would some people. I asked for a late check out at about 10 PM, they advise you to call before 11 pm to ask for a late check out for the following day. Called the front desk and they had no problem. FREE BREAKFAST! I don't really care for free continental breakfast I somehow always get disappointed, but to my surprise again, their breakfast was very good. They served fresh fruits, cereal, eggs, bagels, waffles, OJ, yogurt, milk, potatoes, and biscuit and gravy. The staff was very nice and offered us some food trays so we could load up and take it back to our room. We went twice. As we checked out, the man at the front desk was extremely nice! I didn't get his name but he was very delightful and was very helpful to the elderly couples that were checking in. There was quite a few checking in because there was an event. Definitely would recommend this place. It's not a modern hotel, not very hip. But it's a nice place. Maybe I got lucky with my room? Maybe. But this place isn't as bad as some people made it out to be. read more

In this past week my Team and I stayed at this Best Western Hotel and several of my Teammates received multiple bites from BED BUGS in a room on the second floor. Everyone who stayed in that room has since thrown all of their clothes away and will have to go to the doctor for blood work. Management was extremely rude and dismissive and refused to refund my coach for the room, we will not ever be staying at this location again under any circumstances. read more

Had an excellent experience staying here. Plenty of free parking, room was clean and staff very friendly especially James. My kids and I swam in the clean pool also used their jacuzzi. It's centrally located in old town Clovis with plenty of places to eat walking distance. In the morning they serve an excellent breakfast can't complain at all. An older property that ownership tries very hard to maintain. A bit of a smell, the one of mustiness on arrival. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially "Anna". This Best Western rob their customers. My parents were charged $50, after they left. When we inquired what the charges were for, it took them a whole day to call us back. Then all they said was to come pick up the receipt. It was for a blanket and a coffee basket. When I explained to them my parents didn't take those items, they simply said the maid service marked it as missing. The funny thing is when we went back again to dispute the charge, the person at the desk said the rooms don't have coffee baskets in them. Hmmmmm.....this whole situation smells like fraud. The hotel is a bit older but very well maintained and clean. The bed was quite comfortable and they had a nice TV with lots of cable channels. Refrig was nice to have too. However, don't plan on eating the "breakfast" unless McDonalds is fine dining to you. It simply doesn't measure up to the rest of the amenities. The front desk lady is awful. I don't think she has ever worked in costumer service before. She decided to start towing cars from the parking lot without any knowledge or what is theirs. We had to call the City of a clovis and all the business owners to get maps and times of when the hotel is able to have parking lot! The times are at 8pm to 8am and she towed cars in the middle of the day while people were working without notice. I will never recommend anyone I know to stay there. You should be nice to your neighbors. She is not. She is rude, unprofessional and a liar. She does not deserve a star. read more

My aunt stayed here for my sister wedding. Last week, and OMG what a trashy place it might have been nice 20 years ago... Not updated, bed, couch lumpy and uncomfortable the fireplace in the room didn't even work and when we asked them to fix it they said they wouldn't and we said online it said it came with a fireplace and rudely the lady said well there's a fireplace in the room it just doesn't work it's a trashy place with rude people. read more

I am very disappointed in the stay overall. We checked in at the office for a Fri-Sun stay, and were given keys to our 3rd row room on the very end ( nearest to the stairwell, ice machine, and on the top floor) we used the elevator--(which is very slow) located in the hotel lobby to get there. We checked out the room, and proceeded to use the stairwell for easy access to grab our bags. Immediately when in the stairwell we noticed a skunk smell. We mentioned it but just shrugged it off. Sat morning a band stage with amplifier was set 20 feet from the window and blaring by 8:am.! We woke up to that. Not to mention the ice all night!Being we were there for a wedding with a large group we shrugged that off too. Sunday morning (my girlfriends birthday) we left early. 3 days later there 150$ charge for smoking in the room?? NO ONE SMOKED ANYTHING IN OUR ROOM DURING OUR STAY! This place is just trying to come up. Don't trust the management. When contacting them they said "there's nothing they can do"! 100% NOTHING WAS SMOKED--YET CHARGED 150$???? read more

The facility was fine BUT after we were asleep on our first night the desk clerk came and knocked loudly on our door and woke us up. She told us we were in the wrong room and had to move to the room next door. She had accidentally put us in the wrong room. I told her we were already asleep. She said she was very sorry but we had to move. I asked her what was the difference between the two rooms. She answered that the one next door had a handicapped accessible shower. I told her that we didn't need that. She said we had paid for that. I said I don't care we are asleep. She insisted that we had to move. I asked to speak to the manager. She told me that the manager wouldn't be there until Monday morning. So I woke up my husband, we packed up our belongings and moved to the identical room next door, except for the shower. On Monday I called the manager who apologized for the confusion and offered me an upgrade to a suite on our next visit. I said I don't know if I'm ever coming back. I want a reduction on our bill. She said she couldn't do that because we had booked through Expedia so we already had the lowest price. read more

Clean, clean, clean. While not a luxury hotel, this hotel looked clean and everything smelled fresh. The furniture in my room was a bit dated but perfectly maintained. I was there on a business trip, and the wifi was fast, the room was clean and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location in old town but set back from the street was ideal.
