My family and I buy food from here time to time. Today, we ordered 2 shawarma plates and picked it up. Went here with my dad yesterday since he has been craving shawerma for a while. He told me there is a spot on Glenoaks we should go try. We used to get shawerma from Zankou Chicken and they are okay & have actually been looking for another location with better shawerma/food. Anyways, we ordered beef shawerma plate and chicken shawerma wrap; wow. The wrap had so much flavor! The beef shawerma was good too. They have this pink sauce I don't know what it is but WOW. My wife and I just ordered a "large" Greek salad with chicken and an order of the falafel. The salad looked like it was made with days old lettuce and was topped with a whole can of olives lol. So, this is my favorite place to get Mediterranean food in Glendale and there are a lot of options here. My go-to plate is the beef shawarma plate for $9.99 and they are very generous with the meat. I've asked for extra beet/pink vegetable-looking thing and they don't hesitate one bit. The staff who work here are very nice, and there's never a long wait. You can call ahead and they will have your order by the time you get there. There is a small parking lot that they share with a few other businesses and we've never had a problem with finding a space. I really don't have anything bad to say because it's an amazing find for food north of the 134 freeway. When I leave Glendale, I'm going to miss this place a lot along with Porto's. read more

Am I lucky or are they just able to make the food I like? Whichever the case - I'm a happy camper! I have two favorites here. The first is the filet mignon soup. Had the beef/lamb combo shawarma and it was extremely dry. The pita also fell apart. The falafels were nothing to rave about and the special sauce was kind of bland and not very special. The hummus was bland and needed more garlic and the salad they served on the platters was nothing to rave about. The service was very good and the staff was courteous asking us several times if everything was ok. Didn't hate this place but wouldn't go out of my way again to visit. We came here after a night at Equinox. We didn't know what to eat and we saw the good reviews on yelp. The customer service isn't good here. So if you're looking to come to a place that has friendly workers, don't come here. We walked in we were still trying to decide what to order. We were looking at the menu and the guy at the register did not ask us if we've been here before, if we had any questions, nothing. I asked him what Lula was and all he said was "meat." Um, okay? What kind of meat? Anyways, onto the food... We ordered the Lula combo, which consisted of a bed of rice, two skewers (1 beef and 1 chicken I think since all he said was "meat"), a large roasted green pepper, a roasted tomato, hummus, salad, and their bread that was super thin and tasteless. The portion was small, the meat flavor was okay, I think I like the chicken better than the beef. When we were done and walked out, we did not even receive one "thank you." Ive been here 4 or 5 times, the food tastes good , the wraps are too small, the plates are not preportionly filled. the seating is awkward, its a small pace to begin with, then you have about 8 emplyees that are not only behinde the counter but on the other side ocuping half the tables just shootin the shit most of the time and not allowing paing customers thair space. and by the way the bathroom is in the middle of the place, they have the right idea, but need to work on the customer sevice , I will change my rating if i go back and some of these things are taken care of. read more

There are three choices of bread (pita, lavash and a French roll). Decent choice of toppings for the shawarma. Had the beef shawarma. It was very bland. It needed salt to bring out the beef taste. I wonder if the owner seasons the meat before stacking the spit. Use some allspice! They have a garlic sauce for the chicken, though the menu does not indicate. What I ordered: Pork plate I have to say the sauce that they put on top of the meat is crack or something cause it compliments the meat very well where it's not too overpowering. I'm obsessed and my teenaged sister is also obsessed. We always order the chicken shawarma plate. That sauce is one of a kind. I get extra sauce and keep it in my fridge. My lil sister only hangs out with me after I agree to take her to Best Shawarma. LOL. But make sure your salad isn't soggy if you go in late. The older lady that runs the register isn't the friendliest person but I've seen her smile once so I know she has a heart in there. LOL. Despite how mean she comes off, she makes me feel guilty for not living a tip. But, I also feel bad leaving a tip for someone that appears to be that mean, when I can just give a better tip to that super friendly guy making my iced earl grey tea. I went there twice. I've ordered the lamb wrap (around $8,) the lamb plate ( around $11,) and French fries (around $3.) The lamb and the sauce are absolutely delicious. The wrap is a bit on the small side, so I think it's totally worth the few extra dollars to get the plate, since you also get a side item and a delicious salad. The reason I did not give 5 stars is for couple of reasons, with the food. Although you get a humongous portion, the French fries should be only called fried potatoes. They were limp and bent over, with no crispiness. I don't know if this is Armenian style French fries, but it's not what I wanted. The other thing is the hummus, which tasted only of chick peas, which is not my favorite flavor. Now, I love hummus, and order it whenever I can, but I only love it if I can taste the garlic, lemon, and tahini. I couldn't taste any of these flavors in Best Shwarma's hummus. Also after waiting about 15mins for 1 lamb shawarma and a combo kabob meal I got thirsty and so I grabbed a snapple from the fridge and went to pay for it...she charged me full price of $2.15. I discovered this place when I moved to Glendale last September in 2014. I usually get home from work pretty late and I noticed this was one of the few places that stays open till 1030pm. After reading a bunch of existing reviews I decided to get their lamb shawarma and it was fucking divine. I come here pretty consistently now and I order anything ranging from the wraps to the plates to the kabobs. It's really fucking awesome. So far, this is definitely the "Best Shawarma" we've tried in Glendale! There's many places around the Glendale-Burbank area where you can find good Middle Eastern food; but when it comes specifically to Shawarmas, this is probably one of the best ones. Disclaimer: Usually, I'm not particularly fond of shawarma. And I'm also not fond of anyone claiming to be the best, especially in their company name. But... This is the BEST shawarma I've had in years, and compares to the magic of the shawarma wraps I had in London, my favorite city in the world for the variety and quality of international cuisine available in one place. The flavors are solid, the sauce and seasoning are unique, and the restaurant team is very accommodating and respectful. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for me from now on.
