I'm a bridesmaid helping my friend hunt for a wedding dress last weekend. Definitely book your appointment in advance. We were able to fit in an appointment the day before for Sunday at 11 a.m. Despite the dingy outside appearances, there's quite a great selection of dresses, and Susan, the sales rep who helped my friend, had a great attitude and fetched some great dresses. We came out with three great options. I don't know what my friend will decide on in the end; that's up to her. But out of all the stores we went to, we felt like we had the best customer try-on experience here. There wasn't any pressure to buy, and Susan was genuinely positive and friendly; we felt comfortable with her. Plus, the dress prices were more affordable, about $1100-$1200 for the ones we liked. Though the quality of the fabric may not be as high as some of the other dresses we tried on at more premium stores, what's most important is the style and how it looks in photographs. Though I think we only mentioned a budget of $1500 so maybe there are higher quality dresses at a higher price point. The customer service and value is among the best. Awful experience Toronto (Bathurst/Shepherd) First I'll start the staff turnover is unbelievable. We we were pressure to buy the bridal dress that first day to make sure it would be on time and to get a little signing bonus The dresses came 6 months before the wedding (there was no rush). We booked an appointment online for 2 people for pick up. First got a phone call saying you can't come in that date (Sunday) weekends are only for new customers. It seems once they have your money they don't care about existing customers. I didn't see that anywhere on the website, and it took us many phone calls with them after then finally understanding that Sunday was the only day that works for us. We got there the place was totally over booked. The dresses were still in the manufacture bags. beyond creased. The place is so small. Wasn't ready for pick up to walk down the aisle. They wanted to charge extra $50 to steam it. (Even lululemon steams their stuff when out of shipping bags) and we didn't get ALL the extras that were promised which was offered if we purchased the dress on our first visit. The bridesmaid dress... after trying in measuring it on during the initial visit they suggested a size 10. The bridesmaid always wears a size 6, and was shocked to hear such a big size so decided to size down to a size 8 just to be safe. She had to sign for an 8 because that wasn't their recommendations. When we went to go pick it up, the dress with humongous and literally fell off her. DO NOT trust their measurements. They won't do anything about it. I asked for free alterations for dress. I would pay for the hemming. All I can say all hell broke out. First the person who we were asked to deal with didn't speak English well (she told us that). She got somebody on the phone who we thought was the owner. Was told to take pics and send. She did. Wasn't the owner as she said I'll speak to the owner and get back. 1/2 hour later. We explained many times the reason we had to signed for the 8 was they wanted her to get the 10. They wanted to refund the dress and said we should buy one at David's Bridal. As the wedding is less than two months (we needed the dress). Not happy as this whole dress needs to be redone. The dress was $350. I only wanted to pay half (my deposit) Not happy got $100 off bridesmaid dress, they wouldn't give the bride all that was promised. As her signing bonus I would never ever send anyone to this place. I made an appointment at North York location to check out their dresses. We drove all the way there and they were closed. Tried to reach all their locations by phone to understand what was going on. But everything goes to a commerical recording saying how good their service is and sounds like those scam recording. So do not bother to call them at all. So yeah, we couldn't reach them. Until hours later they replied my text message and said I never had an appointment with them. They didn't sound genuinely sorry for all the hassle caused for us, cause they sort of blamed it on me. I'm hesitating should I use them or not. Update. So a staff reached out to me after I posted this and told me it was just a appointment request no appointment was confirmed. If you are planning to request an appointment make sure you do it ahead of time. Cause it seems like they don't check requests frequently otherwise this will not happen. This is a non-pretentious bridal shop in a small plaza. It's easy to dismiss from its exterior. The staff were knowledgeable. They carry a fair bit of selection, but not as extensive as the others. The price point seems to be medium. That being said, they were also great with advice on a lot of other wedding planning suggestion. Best for Bride was the first store I went to in the search of finding my wedding dress, and it was a relaxed, fun experience! Lisa was the one who helped me. I came into the appointment ready with some photos of the dream dress, a specific budget, and specific dress styles. Lisa made sure to show me only the dresses within my price point, and she was very helpful during the gown-fitting process. Since I only have a budget of $1000-1200, she was very honest with me and made sure to pull the best-looking gowns within my budget. In the end, I was only able to try on 3 and the appointment was only 40 mins, as there wasn't that much selection with my price range and dress style. Each bride gets a small curtain-covered changing room, and when I went, there were 2 other brides sharing the one big room with a big mirror. It was a busy weekend for them. I recommend going to Best for Bride and trying them out, the staff are really helpful and really nice. I was very worried about finding a dress in Toronto - I mistakenly assumed that the service would be impersonal and I'd already heard the horror stories of the bridal shops on Orfus Rd, which I wanted to avoid at all costs. At Best for Bride, Nataly made me feel right at home and she patiently helped me try on many dresses in spite of the fact the store was busy. I wanted a gown with straps, and was worried that I would not have much choice since most gowns are strapless. Fortunately, Nataly showed me some different options and she explained that it would be easy to add beaded straps to a strapless gown. Best for Bride impressed me beyond belief! I was interested in renting a gown and they treated me just as well as someone buying a new gown. The owner, Olga, even went out of her way to respond to my many emails with friendly answers and detailed information. To be fair, this one star rating may have more to do with a personality mismatch than a complete fault of the vendor, but let's divulge. The reason for the one-star review is due to their inability or unwillingness to listen to the customer, and their opaque process. This is the only conventional bridal salon that I visited, because they advertised rental gowns. I specifically asked for selections on rentals, and proceeded throughout the appointment thinking that all of the dresses I was trying on were for rentals. At the end of the appointment, I was told that I could only have a rental if the dress fit me as-is. This information was not shared with me until after the appointment. As a result, I spent the entire appointment trying on dresses that did not fit me, mistakenly thinking they were actual options, when they were not. I shared my vision for my dress at the beginning of the appointment, which was dismissed immediately. I asked for a tea length dress, or a cocktail dress, since my wedding was outdoors. I was told that those are "bridesmaids dresses," and that I didn't need to worry about the length because the dress could be bustled. Then a parade of huge ballgown dresses were brought to me, none of which fit my vision. Essentially, I was told that my idea for my wedding dress was wrong and forced to try on dresses that I had no interest in wearing. The moral of the story: call, confirm and give yourself way more time then you think you need! I landed at this bridal store located on the second floor of a strip mall while on the hunt for a bridesmaid dress. If you were to google bridal wear in Toronto this store is probably one of the top search results. I initially found my bridesmaid dress while surfing online, and visited the store after confirming that the model was available there. Service in-store at the time of the initial trying out was very professional and they were helpful. We were told that it would take three months for the dress to come in, which is usual for these things, and we paid a 50% deposit. As the location was not easily accessible to me, I had booked myself time to pick up the dress on a day after we were told that the dress would have arrived. Fortunately, we called before making the trek out there again as we were then told that the dress had not arrived and in fact would not arrive for almost another two months! The lack of courtesy was very disappointing, and the extreme delay was unacceptable. I was contacted when the dress finally did come in. I may consider shopping here again though with caution. This was our first stop on my insane search for a wedding dress. Our sales consultant was Kalina- who just happens to be the manager I noticed. From the moment my cousin and I came in we felt extremely welcomed and relaxed. Which was good considering it was the first store I didn't know what to expect. After filling out the typical questions (Wedding date, First and last name etc.) we were brought into the fitting rooms areas. Kalina asked what I was looking for and I responded with very vague answers. However, in the very little I gave her she managed to pick out dresses that I truly adored. She was extremely helpful when it came to helping me in and out of the dress. A major plus was I didn't feel uncomfortable being half naked in front of her. She also didn't make things awkward when I wasn't exactly 100 percent ready to buy. However, I came back two days later and she was waiting and ready for me when I did. I showed her references from Best for Brides website of what I'm looking for, and she pulled some dresses that we're similar but not the same. Throughout the whole 1 hour, I felt rushed and ignored. I had no idea I had to make an appointment, because many of the other stores I had spoken to said they didn't require an appointment. Luckily, they were extremely accommodating and fit us in between a couple of other sessions. We wound up finding a dress that flattered all of the girls, and the prices were very reasonable. I am not going to write a crazy long review outlining every single incident with this company. I will break it down in pros and cons. You should know that I had a 4 month engagement with 3 out of town bridesmaids, so everything was pretty rushed. If you do go with Best for Bride for your bridesmaid dresses, I suggest you make sure you have at least 6 months, so there is room for error. Pros: -Hands down the best prices for bridesmaid dresses. (I checked 3 other stores that sold the same dresses and not only did Best for Bride have the lowest base price, they also offered a 15% discount if you bought 5 or more dresses) -Associates were responsive to the Bride via email Cons: -Extremely disorganized management. Unsure of actual shipping dates of specific dress lines. -Employees with poor bedside manner (assumed one of my bridesmaids was pregnant -- she was not) -EXTREMELY over-priced alternations -$25 charge for steaming - OUTRAGEOUS! NO other dress store or alterations place would EVER charge for steaming. -Lack of communication between employees and bridesmaids -- one payment did not go through and had the bride not been on top of it, the dress NEVER would have been ordered. - Their garment bags are too short for the dresses. As I said, my wedding was planned quickly, so the shipping date errors were a pretty big cause of stress. If we had more time it wouldn't have been such an issue. If you choose to go with Best For Bride for your bridesmaid dresses, DO NOT use their alternations. If I could do it again, I would have chosen a different company. As we all know, weddings are a stressful time and we've seen some of the advertising that Best for Bride's done so we figured we'd give them a try. We assumed they'd provide great service due to their marketing. My fiancee has been through several venues to try on wedding dresses and had narrowed down her selection to a couple. One of which was from this venue. The last time we were there, we were promised a price to have the dress we wanted. We called back today to finalize details and to complete the necessary processes, and to our dismay, Kalina, the store manager I believe was not only unwilling to fulfill her committed pricing (less than a week ago), she was also very disrespectful and condescending to my fiancee. I will not go into details as it doesn't serve any purposes here. It's suffice to say that we were both very disappointed with her behavior. I've worked in the service industry previously and have never experienced such utter disrespect before. It was shocking, truly. If this is how they treat their customers BEFORE we pay them, I can only imagine how they would treat us after payment has been made. The boutique is on the second floor, however the whole plaza looks like it's in pretty rough shape. They had a decent selection of dresses to try on and they're one of the few boutiques which offer a rental service as well. While the idea is great (I have no emotional attachment to the dress), it was pretty clear that I wasn't a standard size (bridal size 8-10) so there were no dresses available for the renting option. They also rent jewellery and veils for a reasonable price as well. I was looking for the mermaid, strapless dresses but there weren't many options - most were ballgowns or halter necklines. I've been to Best for Bride twice; the first time I went was to try bridesmaid dresses for my friend's wedding. We worked with Kalina and she was very nice and helpful. They have a good selection in all colours imaginable. We tried on a number of dresses and ended up finding a dress that we all loved. The dress has been ordered and we're just waiting for the dress to come now. I went back this weekend to try on bridal gowns for my own wedding and requested to work with Kalina again. She asked to see pictures when I arrived and showed me dresses that fit my vision as well as some of her own favorite dresses. I went mid-day so it was pretty quiet; she gave me her full attention and helped me fit into the dresses. She even asked us if we wanted to take photos and offered to help me which I really appreciated. A lot of stores do not allow photos but photos really help me in remembering how I look/feel when I'm making my decision after trying on soooo many dresses. She even helped me put on a veil so I can get the full idea of the look for the big day. My mom was with me so Kalina helped her find a couple of mother of the bride dresses to try too. Not a huge selection but my mom did find some that she liked. Kalina was very sweet and both my mom and I felt very comfortable with her. Overall, my mom and I both had a great experience. At no point did I feel pressured or rushed to make a purchase there. I'm still making my decision on the gown but as far as the experience goes, I highly recommend Best for Bride. read more

Despite the not so glamorous exterior of the plaza, the actual the place was welcoming and consultants were all friendly and extremely helpful. I had Kiki; she listened to the styles I liked and pulled dresses to try on within my price range. The whole process was efficient and I tried on many dresses in the 1 hour appointment. Kiki was knowledgeable and a good type of honest when asking for her opinion. The website made it easy to book a follow-up appointment for me to bring my family members and try on 2 dresses I narrowed down. She was patient when I asked to try each of them on like 3 times. Kiki gave us privacy when making that final decision to say yes to the dress! As many of us our on a budget, Best for Bride provided the most affordable price--especially with their price match guarantee. Here's where it went downhill fast. I went into the store today to try on the dress one more time to make my decision. When I visited, I explained to Milana exactly what I wanted because I had a very good idea and ended up purchasing the 2nd dress I tried on. The dress was $600, which is just fantastic. I ordered the dress in November and was told the dress would be ready in 4 months. I called at the end of February and was told it would be in March 2nd. Called on March 2nd, was told it wasn't in- which ended up being my only frustration with the shop. I did get it the following week, but nobody knew when it would be in after it was already late. When I picked it up finally it was perfect and came with other small accessories that I did not expect like spaghetti straps and a shawl. I was at Best for Bride last night for an appointment I made. The experience I had with this store was not good from the beginning. When I stepped in and told them I was there for my appointment, they looked like they didn't expect me. I left notes when I made the online appointment that I was interested in renting and buying, but I don't think they read any of it. We weren't even introduced to the consultant. My 2 bridesmaids just stood near the entrance while the consultant brought me to a room to pick out dresses. We walked into a small room where I described what I wanted and she grabbed some dresses that matched my description. We were finally led into a room where my girls can sit down, and there were more dresses on a rack in the fitting room so she picked up some more dresses. The dresses themselves were nice but just not me. We asked them about renting a dress and she told us it was way too early to see, so I just opted to try the dresses for sale. We asked her about how much the dresses cost and she gave us a number and told us it was a very good price. My girls let her know my budget was half of what the dress cost and her mood turned sour. She went on about how my bridesmaids' dresses would cost about that much and we had a conversation about the kinds of dresses we've already chosen for them. She talked a bit about the designer of the dress I was wearing and I asked if they had other designers and she said, "Of course!" but when we asked about them, all she did was bring out a Mori Lee catalogue and told us that they liked this designer the best because they had good prices. We then asked about their clearance and sale section and she went on to tell me how it's hard to find clearance dresses in my size and for my budget (keep in mind, at this time their website is advertising a sale for dresses starting at $99 that is only available at this store). After that, she pointed out a short dress in the Mori Lee catalogue and told me it was $600 and she can order it for me. When I expressed my dislike, she asked me what I didn't like and I told her, "The price". The appointment ended with the consultant telling us to come back in January if I was interested in renting. It didn't feel like she worked very hard to keep us there. We were just kind of...told to go. Another thing we didn't like was that we were not allowed to take any pictures of me in the dresses. I've never heard of a bridal salon doing that. I would understand if the collection is exclusive, but the images of the dresses are readily available on their website. I will definitely not be returning to this store. On our way out, we could see there was a whole back room full of dresses we didn't even have a chance to go through. We had a really bad time here. [EDIT] Olga, the owner, called me the other day after reading this review on Yelp and asked me if there's anything she can do to make my experience better. That was incredible customer service and I really appreciate her contacting me but it still doesn't change the poor experience I had in her store.
