During my 6 months searching for a dress, I came back here quite a few times and always worked with Mackenzie. I came back for a total of 5 times for different reasons, trying on 1 single dress to see how I feel, and full blown dress picking appointment. Mackenzie was always patient and we got along well. It gets really busy here on the weekends, and it really affects your experience here. I came by once to try a specific dress, which I told them and called ahead of time. Not only was M. not there (on her lunch), but someone was supposed to sub for her. We waited 15 mins for someone, and finally they let me in, but they could not find the dress I specified. They even brought me a different one than I had called in for (the file had the name, and it was correct). I wasn't pleased. The day I finally came to buy the dress, with my mom, 2 friends and the MiL, they got me in the dress, then left me for at least 10+mins. There were so many awkward situations where I don't know where M. had disappeared to and why things were taking so long. I also got some ideas for Veils from the guy that makes it. I found his attitude a little abrasive, and rude. It's not my fault I don't know how to look at the veil and adjust the mirrors! They make Veils in house and they range from $100-400. The entire appointment that day took about 1.5 hours, but a lot of it was standing around. I decided to buy the dress here, because they were one of few in Toronto that carried it, plus it was in a convenient location, and I've bothered them so much already. I get 10% off for taking the dress offsite to alter, and I decided to do this - they will back up the alterations in case anything will go wrong, also since they are so busy, I don't want to have to have a bad experience. I can't imagine anything else will happen from now until I pick up the dress. So there it is! --- Edit: so when I went to pick up my dress, I had to actually make an appointment, which was a little strange to me, given that I paid for it already, and physically just picking it up. I was told this was necessary so that someone can greet me and have the dress ready. When I got there on what seemed to be a quiet Friday afternoon, there was no one to greet me. Finally someone came and saw me, and went to the back to get my dress. She disappears for about 5 mins, and another women back from break walks in an sees me standing there. Checks me in, a 2nd time, and goes to the back to look for my dress. This boggles my mind because I was so sternly told that I needed to make an appointment, and yet, neither a person nor my dress was ready. Finally she came, and I picked up my dress. Just a word of warning I guess.

I had another appointment to go to that day, but Beckers wouldn't let us take a picture of the dress that I loved, and THE TAG HAD ALSO BEEN REMOVED so I couldn't see the designer name. I know that this is to ensure that I don't look for it cheaper somewhere else, but this is horrible customer service practice. Miraculously, I was still able to find the dress at the next appointment and compare it when I found another one I loved just as much, and ended up buying my dress at the other shop. If they had let me take a picture of it and I had decided that I liked the dress I first tried on at Beckers best, I would have gone back to purchase it but because they were unhelpful regarding this important aspect, I wouldn't have.

To be honest - most of the dresses at S&B were out of my budget and I let the stylist know that, but it didn't deter her from providing me with awesome and patient service. I ended up returning for a second appointment and making a purchase within my budget! Everything came on time and it was the least stressful shopping experience I'd ever had. Every step of the way I've received above and beyond service from the amazing people that work here. No one is pushy, everyone is patient and extremely sweet & helpful. I've made a styling appointment for next month to get some accessories as well. Not only is the store gorgeous, the dresses are beautiful and unique and the staff are fantastic. When I entered the main shop, it was decorated beautifully and has two floors of wedding dresses. The whole place looked so amazing! The dressing room was huge, and looked bigger than a room in most condos. You get the whole dressing room to yourself to change in privacy, and there's a separate big waiting room for your guests to see the dress when you're ready. I was hoping to have Carlo as my consultant, but I saw him helping with another appointment instead on the same floor. I can tell he's very passionate, and can hear his voice making suggestions from the other rooms. I had Beverly as a consultant, and she was very friendly, helpful, and not pushy. I didn't have a huge budget for dresses, but she still treated me nicely and offered some great recommendations. I appreciated how she helped me with each dress, and was always positive and never impatient. Hard to deal with my opinionated family sometimes! I got to see a wide variety of dresses, and a better idea which styles look best. I didn't end up making a purchase on my first visit, but do plan on returning if needed as I'm still on the hunt for the right dress! One thing to note is I didn't like how they have a flat fee of $850 for alterations (heard it used to be $600 in the past), for everyone regardless. I wish they offer a variable fee, depending on how many alterations you need! There is the option to just buy the dress, and get it altered elsewhere though. Overall, I had an amazing experience here and can tell why it's so highly recommended! Definitely worth a visit for sure!

Not a good experience. I wanted to cry, but I was so frustrated that I held it in…read more They also bribe people to give 5 star reviews so do not trust their star rating. I am a plus size bride, wearing 18/20 street size. I stated this on the forum when booking my appointment and when the employee asked upon entrance. Although sizing had been discussed, a lot of the dresses I was handed in the change room were sizes 10-14 and I was not able to try them on. Either they wouldn't fit over my hips, or my arms wouldn't fit in armhole with the strap, or my arm just wouldn't fit into the sleeve. Trying to squeeze into a dress that's half your size in a dark changing room without assistance is not a good start. At one point I told the employee that one of the dresses I wasn't able to pull up, and she seemed surprise "oh really? Is the zipper undone all the way", I said I would double check, but yes it was undone all the way. I just don't think the size 10 dress was ready for my size 20 hips. Another dress was sleeveless but had a high illusion neckline and I was excited to try on, however my upper arms were not fitting into the arm holes as it was a size 14 and my upper arms are larger. I told the employee this from the dark room behind the curtain and her response was simply "how about we move to the next one then". Which was sad because I thought this one would look so good if only in a better size. At this point I was starting to feel that same dreaded feeling I use to get when trying to buy name brand clothes in middle school. Hadn't felt that shame in a decade. I stuck my head out and asked if they had any plus size dresses, as these tags seemed to be 10-12 or 14 and I am usually about a 20. She pointed to the rack we got the 14 from and said that was the plus size rack. When I was able to get my body into a dress it was still a size 16, the neckline area never fit and it was nearly impossible to "use my imagination on". Since the detailing didn't line up and it was making indents. There was one dress I did like. However it was a zipper back and I was told the "zipper is slippery" so it couldn't be done up. I don't know much about how bridal shops use dress clips but she didn't use any and barely did anything. She held the open back together for about 30 seconds as I looked in the mirror then walked away. The dress had sparkly spaghetti straps that were very long so they dropped and curved a bit. My mom was trying to get a photo so I could look at it later but as the employee wasn't doing much to make the dresses look as they would if they fit I was trying to pull the straps at the back so it would appear tighter and then holding my arms down so the bodice wouldn't fly open. Ugh I honestly felt like crying when I was in the dark changing room, I felt lost. I was barely getting any assistance. She wasn't helping the dresses look as they would once fitted, I felt helpless. Not being able to fit into dresses and not having any dresses my size even when My size had obviously been discussed made my confidence drop and made me feel ugly and gross. Which is definitely not what a wedding gown shop should do.
