    Display dress from November 2017

Yes, yes, yes. I'm saying yes to this dress...store. Pop the champagne, cry on your mom's shoulder. This is the one! I had such a spectacular and fun experience here, I'm pretty sure it spoiled all my other dress-fitting experiences. To be fair, I didn't really give the others a fighting chance because after going to Superior (my first boutique), my heart had already settled on a dress. Oops! I live in Markham so Superior was a nice, close choice for me to start the arduous dress selection process back in November. It's a cozy little place, family-run, and I immediately felt at ease among the flurry of tulle and lace. They've got A LOT of dresses. Plenty of options for every kind of bride. The upstairs area is filled with more dresses and it's where you change (no men allowed). You might have some consultants coming in to grab dresses but that's why they tell you to come in with a tank top on. Elena took care of me for my appointment and she was the best! She listened to what I wanted, didn't oversell me, and was so professional and friendly. She got me in and out of dresses at lightning speed and threw in a couple surprises just so I could get the full spectrum of what looked good on me. When I went back to finalize my decision, she let me waddle from room to room to check out how the dress looked under different lighting. When I called in a frenzy 3 months afterwards because I had ordered a size down, super confident that I'd bootcamp my ass into that dress, and then realized it's pretty freakin' hard, she assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and alterations can take care of everything. The superior service (haha) didn't stop after the sale. For my first official fitting, Vi was the one who helped me out. She was lovely and answered all of our questions with a smile. The dress fit practically perfectly so I didn't need to use their $400 fixed-price alteration services. I never once felt pressured into spending that money and they were super understanding. Btw for those saying how expensive $400 is, this is all-inclusive, so depending on how many alterations you want to do (especially for the length which is very labour-intensive), this could be a steal. You can also make the decision whether to alter with them after your first fitting. FYI, Kleinfeld's alterations are $1000+, just for a bit of perspective. Sorry, this was a long one. I just can't stop raving about this place. It's a shame I only get to shop for wedding dresses once because Elena and crew made it such a smooth experience. Keep an open mind and let the consultants here do their magic. Even if you don't find the one, I'm sure you'll have a ton of fun :) (52/100) - 2018

I am a plus size bride, wearing 18/20 street size. I stated this on the forum when booking my appointment and when the employee asked upon entrance. Although sizing had been discussed, a lot of the dresses I was handed in the change room were sizes 10-14 and I was not able to try them on. Either they wouldn't fit over my hips, or my arms wouldn't fit in armhole with the strap, or my arm just wouldn't fit into the sleeve. Trying to squeeze into a dress that's half your size in a dark changing room without assistance is not a good start. At one point I told the employee that one of the dresses I wasn't able to pull up, and she seemed surprise "oh really? Is the zipper undone all the way", I said I would double check, but yes it was undone all the way. I just don't think the size 10 dress was ready for my size 20 hips. Another dress was sleeveless but had a high illusion neckline and I was excited to try on, however my upper arms were not fitting into the arm holes as it was a size 14 and my upper arms are larger. I told the employee this from the dark room behind the curtain and her response was simply "how about we move to the next one then". Which was sad because I thought this one would look so good if only in a better size. At this point I was starting to feel that same dreaded feeling I use to get when trying to buy name brand clothes in middle school. Hadn't felt that shame in a decade. I stuck my head out and asked if they had any plus size dresses, as these tags seemed to be 10-12 or 14 and I am usually about a 20. She pointed to the rack we got the 14 from and said that was the plus size rack. When I was able to get my body into a dress it was still a size 16, the neckline area never fit and it was nearly impossible to "use my imagination on". Since the detailing didn't line up and it was making indents. There was one dress I did like. However it was a zipper back and I was told the "zipper is slippery" so it couldn't be done up. I don't know much about how bridal shops use dress clips but she didn't use any and barely did anything. She held the open back together for about 30 seconds as I looked in the mirror then walked away. The dress had sparkly spaghetti straps that were very long so they dropped and curved a bit. My mom was trying to get a photo so I could look at it later but as the employee wasn't doing much to make the dresses look as they would if they fit I was trying to pull the straps at the back so it would appear tighter and then holding my arms down so the bodice wouldn't fly open. Ugh I honestly felt like crying when I was in the dark changing room, I felt lost. I was barely getting any assistance. She wasn't helping the dresses look as they would once fitted, I felt helpless. Not being able to fit into dresses and not having any dresses my size even when My size had obviously been discussed made my confidence drop and made me feel ugly and gross. Which is definitely not what a wedding gown shop should do.

It only reaffirms my pal's good decision to go w/ Amour instead. If you are the indecisive & easy to be swayed type... do not come here. Or you may regret it! Out of convenience the bride thought it would be nice to get custom dresses for all her bridesmaids. Since we came in all sizes, she had ordered custom dresses for us from here. There are 5 bridesmaids. It wasn't cheap, each dress cost over $120. I was highly disappointed to find out that they can't do a good job with their "custom made" dresses. Not only the workmanship and quality was poor, but also their service. We got some serious attitude when requested changes were were of their fault and clearly part of the agreement. At the first fitting (pre-fitting), 3 of 5 dresses did not fit. The dresses came out too small. The bridesmaids couldn't have gained that much weight considering we were measured with our winter clothes on. The colour of the fabric was off too. It came out much darker than expected - fine we can live with that. The fabric was too thin to hold up the design - what else can we do now? The zipper of choice was hideous - with poor workmanship it shows through. Stitching was a disaster on several dresses. Seams were rippling when they should be as smooth as silk. The length was much longer than we had requested on all the dresses. By the end of the fitting, there was much to fix. We had requested to fix the measurements of the dresses, the length, remove the straps, minor pinning, fix the poor stitching and re-center the bows. They agreed to make the changes and told us to return 2-3 weeks before the wedding so our measurements would be less likely to change and because the agreement includes only 1 alteration. Before the lady had agreed, she had seriously offended some bridesmaids. You know how sensitive women are with their weights. You never call them "meaty" or "fat". We came out worried. Second fitting (actual fitting), months pass, we came back to try the dresses, 2 of 5 dresses could not fit. Yay! one of us "lost" weight. The same issues as before, with the poor stitching, length, centering of bows, removing straps, etc. all the little details that makes a nice dress. The lady hesitantly agreed to change the length, fix the poor stitching, and fix dimensions only after 30 minutes of argument. It's a custom made dress after all, should it not fit me? Yay! Time to pick up the dresses! To our "surprise" they had forgotten to fix the pinning, did not loosen or fix the size of one dress, did not remove the straps as requested, did not fix the ugly zippers... basically every dress had something left unfinished. The lady told us, "you can pin that yourself, "we can't loosen the dress, otherwise the dress will fall off", "just cut off the straps yourself, it's easy", "the zipper is supposed to be like that"... At this point I was done arguing trying to make my point for them to fix these problems. We took the dresses and walked out. I resorted to my own sewing skills to fix all the "minor" issues left at hand, and I requested the help of my mother (who is an amazing seamstress) to fix my friend's dress who was suffocating in her dress. And this was the tiniest bridesmaid in the group that has been dieting for months thinking she was "too fat" for her dress. Unless you want to be insulted, left with an unfinished and unsatisfactory dress, save your time and effort, go elsewhere.

On the wedding day, she was punctual and flawlessly recreated the look we discussed during the trial. Both the makeup and hair turned out beautifully. I wholeheartedly recommend Wing and her team!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!…read more I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found this gem of a place. Wing and her team have been phenomenal throughout our whole wedding planning process. I originally came here to look for dresses. At this point, I already had a dress in mind plus most of their dresses for rent/purchase were on the smaller end (Think: Asian sizing), so I didn't get a dress here but I was quite impressed by their selection of outfits, including wedding dresses, traditional Chinese outfits, reception dresses and even men's tuxes. I did, however, end up booking make-up and photography from them.  Let's talk about the make-up- I didn't cry when I found my dress but I felt so emotional during my make up trial. Wing really took her time to help me find a look I liked, and I felt so much like a bride. I also loved how the hair and make-up came with the engagement shoot as I am so very bad with hair, and she was able to make my skin look flawless in the photos even without photoshop. The day of, Wing and her team arrived to my house on time the day of (5:15am!!) to do my mom, MOH, 2 Bridesmaids and MC hair and makeup and they honestly did a great job for everyone. They use good products and none of us had any skin issues afterwards. I booked Wing for the entire night at the reception hall to help me change my looks and she always made sure I looked perfect. I felt so beautiful and got so many compliments that night.   Our photographer for both the engagement shoot and wedding day was Teddy. He was so great to work with; so easygoing and so hardworking. He made sure to get to know the wedding party by name so it felt more like working with a friend. He gave us suggestions for poses and angles, but made sure we got every shot that we wanted. Even at the end of the night he checked in with us before leaving, even though he was already overtime. My engagement pictures turned out SUPER cute, I still can't believe that was me in the photos and not an actual model! Can't wait to see my wedding day pictures.   I had a short engagement period but with Wing's help and suggestions for the timeline, dress alterations and even our officiant, our special day turned out perfect. They are such hardworking, flexible and honest people to work with, and as an added plus, SUCH GREAT VALUE! I am still over the moon with how wonderful everything turned out and I will definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone planning a wedding.

The One Bridal did a lot of good/great work but the long waiting at the end reduced my overall satisfaction. Let me start with the pre-photo shoot. We shopped around and talked to a few vendors before selecting One Bridal for our photography. I was impressed by their marketing and a number of wedding photo albums they had on their slideshows. One Bridal also offered competitive market rates for photography. Communications were excellent in the beginning and they were transparent about the timing of when they collected payments and when they will provide the photos (usb), album and canvas. For this part One Bridal scores 4.5 / 5.0 The photographer who took the photos was Joseph. He worked alone for our engagement photos in 2018 Spring and he had an assistant who helped take additional photos at our wedding in 2018 Summer. Our engagement photos were taken at Main Street Unionville. I was responsible for buying a permit for the location but there were no issues with getting the date & time we liked, meeting with the photographer, or weather. Joseph was both photographer and director as we walked around the location took photos The engagement photo shoot was scheduled to be one hour in length and took longer (around 1.5 hour) to complete, so I was happy when Joseph was able to give us some extra time to take all the photos. We had to do some walking and some of the photos we had to take a few times over but overall the day went well. For this part Joseph scores 4.0 / 5.0 Our wedding photos were taken at a banquet hall in Markham. The day and photo shooting started earlier for us as our party had some additional activities in the morning. Joseph & team had no issues with meeting us at a private residence near the banquet hall then relocating to the banquet hall afterwards. Since it was wedding day, there were a lot of activities and a lot of photos. The photography team took photos of us, our bridal party, our family, our guests, and our venue. Over a thousand photos were taken that day (given the large volume some photos were excellent, so good and some bad - that was to be expected). When reviewing the photos afterwards one observation I had is there were a few photos with large groups where a few people were somewhat blocked by others. The whole day went by a blur but I probably should have stayed for more photos with our guests after the ceremony. The photography team worked a full day, ate lunch and dinner with us and mostly did a good job. For this part Joseph and team scores 4.0 / 5.0 For me, the biggest challenges started after all our photo shoots were completed and 100% of the balance was paid. We were hoping to get all the photos (usb) and album about 3 months after our wedding. However, it took us around 5 months to get our usb and around 6 months to get the album (we got our canvas early so that was not an issue). During the waiting time communication with the vendor was inconsistent (longer turnaround times for phone call / emails). My main takeaway from the waiting experience is perhaps I should not pay the full balance until the final piece of product is received. For this part One Bridal scores 1.0 / 5.0 Overall, there were some communications challenges (it is fair to say it applied for both sides and I contributed to those challenges as I got more frustrated with waiting) and some lengthy waiting but we got what we agreed upon (our canvas photo, our wedding album and our usb key with all photos) and I am mostly satisfied with the product. 3.2 / 5.0 David Wu

My first wedding dress appointment was with Shabellia (?) who was extremely kind, patient and friendly. My second appointment was with Joanna who was the same. The staff here is very nice and made my dress shopping experience really enjoyable! They were always happy to answer all of my questions without me feeling intimidated or stupid to ask questions which was how i felt at another store i went to.
