First things first the appearance of the Pawn Shop was not bad, the customer service person was not bad. The staff are especially trained to low ball gold sellers. When you ask a direct question like what is your current "Per Gram" weight buying price they don't have a straight answer. First they want to examine the item then test and weigh it, which is unnecessary for a inquiry and not an "appraisal" after going through their process they then offer less than 50% of the current spot price or about 25% of how much it would sell for at retail. The current gold rate is a little over $1934 per oz or $62.18 per gram of 24k gold 14k is $36.06 per gram since it only contains 58% gold. I brought in a necklace weighing close to 15 grams in like new condition I don't wear anymore thinking I might exchange it for cash or trade it in for something else I might like. Here is how much they offered me $230 when it is actually worth $530.15 so they are looking to make a $300+ profit off my item. So my advice would be if you are looking to sell any old gold you don't need anymore to find someone that is willing to give you a honest price per gram quote without trying to take advantage of you. read more

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! So I went to this place to pawn my 5 marquise cut diamond ring with two diamond stud earrings. Lady named Cara helped me, she first asked me how much I'm looking to borrow and I told her $800. So she tested the ring and the stud earrings. After looking through everything, she first told me that she can give me $500 for the ring and the earrings. I asked her "that's it?". So she went on her computer again and did some more research and price matching. Then she told me "the best I can give you is $600 or you can think about it and come back" so I told her that I will think about it. After two days, I came back to this pawn shop and this time a guy named MIKE helped me. He didn't even ask me how much I'm looking to borrow, he weighed the ring and went straight scratching my ring to do an acid test. Then came back to me scratching his sweaty head and said "Yeah, I can probably give you $20". I was trying my best to stay calm. Really? $20 for a diamond ring? Seriously? When one of your employee offered me $600 2 days ago? I know they have to make a profit, but $20 for a 5 stone diamond ring? That's not even 5% of what Cara offered me. And all the jewelry on their showcase are over priced. They'll offer you $20 and sell it for 200x more! I didn't even see a single $200 diamond ring in their showcase. You can show them a $5,000 ring and they'll probably offer you $200. They probably think that all customers they deal with, can't do math. I bet if all the people that went to this shop and got ripped off have yelp account or did a review, this pawn shop will be a one star shop. I had used this company off and on since 2012. The last time I picked up my rings, three diamonds were missing from one ring, and several from my other ring. I would recommend getting a copy of the diamond certificate from them when putting your rings in, and have them verifiy the condition when you get them out. So I've been to a few pawn shops around this area. When I walked into the other ones, it was what someone would expect. Kinda sleezy. But then I stopped in here and was kind of impressed on their layout and how clean their shop was. There was a long line at the sell counter which was comforting knowing people trusted this store to sell their items to. I browsed around, just window shopping. Then saw 3 security cameras. Each properly marked with a price. So I figured I'd try to bargin with them, eh, why not right? Man! The guy at the counter actually took my bargaining seriously and gave me an amazing deal on the cameras! Would I go back to purchase? 100% yes. If you go in, make sure you talk to a guy named Mike. Worst place ever had a couple bad experiences there but today was the worst I had a brand new bike that was too small for my son still in the box never opened so I called the pawnshop they said for me to bring it down I told him it was brand new still in the box then when I got there they waited till after I got it out of my car and brought it inside and it's very heavy box and then the guy automatically got rude with me Saying you know I won't be able to take this while I was still standing in line so everybody could hear my business and I said why he said because you need to put it together and I told him I just spoke to someone on the phone and I told them it was in the box and they told me to bring it down and then he got an attitude and said who did you talk to I said I didn't know I had to get names I even showed him my phone showing that I called he basically called me a liar and told me I don't know what's in that box I can't take it I told him then why don't you open it he was just trying to find any reason to tell the whole store my business at that point I was so irritated I just took the bike and left honestly I'd rather give it away to a child who needs it then put up with that degrading crap it's not like they'll give you that much anyways they always lowball you read more

I came in with some of my broken jewelry to cash in on them. The places I normally go to in Napa were closed so this place was by default since I was going the same direction. Jose, the service tech who was reviewing my jewelry and after 5 min asked me if I wanted a loan. I responded "no" I'm only here to sell my jewelry. I gave him my military id and told him my drivers license address isn't accurate as well as my last name however my military has my name (mind u, I volunteered my military Id to him). After 10 min he asked me agin if I wanted a loan and I said "no". Anyways, he is looking at my drivers license and I reiterated that my addy wasn't correct in it n that I'm stationed here now. He then tells me he can't provide business to me bc I'm a military member n it's ineligible. I then informed him it's not illegal for me to sell my jewelry r personal belongings. It's only illegal if I get a loan from them. Then his very intelligent co-worker chimes in "Frick" agrees with "Frack" stating loud for the entire shop to hear, "yeah, it's illegal for us to help military n u need to b careful." Brother, word of advice, if u want to sound intelligent and give sound info then learn ur Effin law. The Military Lending Act of 2016 has NOTHING to do with pawning items for money. First impressions... The key is to get the customer in the door. The fast talking guy I got blew me off the phone. Heck, why answer with 'how can I help you' when asked a simple question regarding interest rates... and a fast draw answer, 'come on in and we will see what you got.' Heck, that was as non responsive as you can get. Not to mention, the phone menu doesn't work... prior to getting this sweet heart of a guy, every selection (1 of 4) comes up as an invalid selection. I had to call their San Mateo store to see if there was a way to get transferred. So, the long and short of the story, I was going to take a pair of His and Here Rolex Presidents in mint condition (2 years old) for a quick loan in which to take advantage of another purchase opportunity... Glad this guy played his hand early... Saves me the grief of driving X number of miles only to get pissed off. So, if they can't offer a little sugar to begin with, you surely aren't going to get it down the line... Best (no pun intended) check out those shops that want your business. read more
