Let me first say, Best Cleaners will be the only Dry Cleaners I will be using in the 518 area from now on. A few days ago, I unexpectedly lost my brother. I needed a suit and a few other garments dry cleaned right away for him to be dressed in for his services. I stopped in a cleaners close by to my home (I live in Amsterdam) on Friday and was told I wouldn't have the items back until the following Friday, when I needed them by this Sunday at the latest. I explained the situation that I had just lost a family member and needed the items right away for the services but it didn't seem to matter... I then called Best Cleaners on Route 50 in Glenville and their delivery driver had already picked up their orders for the day. They were very polite and apologetic and offered to transfer me to a different location with an in house cleaning service. I ended up at the Latham location, and THANK GOD for that. I spoke with Sal on the phone and he was nothing but professional and courteous, telling me if I was able to get the items there before closing time on that day (Friday) I could pick them up at whatever time I needed them THE NEXT DAY! He literally said, we open at 7 am so you tell me when you need them ready (unbelievably awesome and incredibly different from my first stop...) They were completely willing to work around MY schedule, for which I am extremely thankful. When I finally arrived (about 10 minutes before they closed) I dealt with Sal in person and he was extremely courteous and just plain awesome. He promised to take great care of the items and make them look great for my brother, and he absolutely delivered on his promise. I was able to pick up the suit the very next day (less than 24 hours later) with no issues at all. I can not say enough positive things about the Latham Best Cleaners and their service team, and especially about Sal. They do fantastic work and provide absolutely wonderful customer service. I had four items dry cleaned (suit coat, slacks, shirt & tie) in less than 24 hours and the price was extremely reasonable for such short notice. So in closing, THANK YOU BEST CLEANERS for being so freaking awesome and accommodating during such a difficult time for my family. You made one difficult task much, much easier for us and for that we are extremely thankful. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK & HIRE MORE PEOPLE LIKE SAL!!! read more

I had been working with this dry cleaner for over a year for my Church's vestments. They had been great. Turnaround time, wonderful. Until...I brought a vestment to Church, only to find out that they pressed it incorrectly, making the inside satin, show on the front. I returned the garment and asked that they correct. I received notice that my garment was back. Went to pick it up, and same situation. I then asked for them to resend, as well as the sash that needed dry cleaning. Well....3 weeks later, with them telling me the sash was coming back, but each week, going to pick up and they tell me they're still working on it. Plus, the vestments came back, again, incorrectly pressed, to the point, that the regional manager said she would handle it herself. Guess what, it still came back incorrectly. The actual cleaning is fine - but their delivery service is completely unreliable and the management is unresponsive - they promised pickups and then never came, I wasted a lot of time as a F/T working outside the home employee trying to get them to pick up our bag ...they would text me twice a week asking me what day I wanted service. I thought $3.80 just to press a shirt was a bit high, but I've been dropping my shirts off there anyway, as they are convenient. Today, I was charged $9.10 for one shirt. The horrible woman behind the counter just told me it was because it was Rayon. I tried to explain that I was never told that. Bye-bye Best Cleaners. Extremely overpriced. I asked for one winter wool coat to be pressed. And I was charged a very expensive "clean and press" fee for $23.45 total for one piece of clothing and the coat still has wrinkles in it! Will not go back or recommend them to anyone. read more

If I could give this zero stars i would, let me first start off by saying I'm new to living in a upstate area. They ruined my coat and failed to live up to their promise returning for paying the amount I've payed for the jacket. I wait 2 weeks later to hear back from the manger saying how they took it upon themselves to fix the jacket and I should be receiving it in 2-3 weeks later. It's already been a month and 2 weeks!!! In my mind I thought well they offered to pay me for the jacket they ruined so I went ahead and bought a new one because it's cold. Nope they said we are repairing your jacket and not negotiating anything when they promised to pay for the jacket they ruined. I already ripped off all the price tags to the new jacket so I end up losing either way. DO NOT COME HERE the manger only cares about herself and not the costumer living up to false promises. read more

I do not recommend for wedding dress cleaning. Kept it for 6 weeks which is fine but ultimately came back with stains still on it, I spent two weeks on the phone trying to understand when it will be ready and all they did was clean it the day before I picked it up. Unclear why they needed to have it for 6 whole weeks!? Useless customer service. read more

I am wearing my 15+ year old high school letter jacket today for fun after having the leather and felt cleaned for the first time since buying it! It sat in a closet at my mom's house and the felt was covered in mold or mildew or whatever and was spotted everywhere. Today it looks new! Felt is great, leather is soft and the cigars can't be smelled! We don't dry clean often, but when we do, it will be at Best Cleaners here in Latham! read more

I do not need dry cleaners as often as I used to, BUT I opted to have my tablecloths pressed for the holiday (three in total) to save me time. I went to pick them up today, did not need them cleaned, as one was brand new, and she said "ok that will be $120.....YIKES. I explained that the three tablecloths from Home Goods total cost me less than half of that, and told her she could keep the tablecloths and I would buy new ones...the manager ended up giving me the tablecloths and not charging me anything, which was very nice, but I also explained I am not the type of person who wants to get something for nothing, and I am willing to pay a fair price for the pressing. Anyway it ended well, but with these prices, don't think I will be going back any time soon, and if I do, I will ask how much it will be before I leave anything. After several years of very good service and never a complaint, it only takes one rude person to drive away a customer. On 12/22 in the late afternoon and at the end of a minor snowstorm, I tried to pickup my $42 dry cleaning order from the Latham location. As I was pulling into the lot, I noticed a private snowplow truck pushing snow off the road at the business. The driver could not see me so I waited and then pulled off to the side of the building so I wouldn't get hit. The driver of the snowplow waived to me to acknowledge that he saw me and as I exited my car, an employee came out and started yelling that I couldn't park there. I tried to quickly explain to her that the snowplow was attempting to clear their lot and my car would have been in his way. She simply started waiving her arms and said I'd have to park somewhere else. I asked her "where". No answer. So I waited a few moments for another customer to leave and took their spot. As I walked in the building she accused me of waving my finger at her. I asked to speak with the owner/manager. She continued with an attitude and said she was the co-manager. I asked to speak with her boss. She called someone whom I assume was the manager and gave her version of my finger wagging - which I've never done in my life. In fact, I don't think I ever saw a man wag his finger at someone once. Regardless, I picked up the phone and the woman on the other end was cordial and said its their policy that they can't have anyone park on the side of the building since other cars have been hit. I anticipated where this one was going and simply said thanks and that they need not worry since I would never spend another nickel with Best Cleaners. One of the other employees retrieved my order. I thanked her and paid my bill and left without further incident. What in the world has happened with customer service? Best Cleaners, really are the best dry cleaners in the area - I can attest to that, but ONE bad customer service incident can undo the great work they do. Just wanted to update. I received a call from Susan (best cleaners) today. Susan was responding to my yelp posting. Susan had researched my info and found there was an issue with the charges to both of my accounts. Susan explained her findings, and had already refunded the charge to my account. We discussed the actual charge for dry cleaning one dress. She explained due to the rayon in the dress the handling and conditioning was part of the cost. So while the cost was higher than I expected, Susan resolved my issue more efficiently than I expected. I believe customer service is key when you can get the same service elsewhere. Great job Susan. If I tell you that I am going to drop off cleaning at this place, slap me...I dropped off a cotton coat and men's wool pants for cleaning yesterday. I had an expired Groupon but the woman at the counter confirmed that I could still use it for face value, just bring it back when I pick up my clothes. I got a call this afternoon that my coat did not wash well and they could not get the wrinkles out. I wanted them to dry clean the coat as Silvestri did many times before. I went to pick up the coat and pants and the two women at the counter could not/would not take the Groupon as they knew nothing about a Groupon. I explained that yesterday the woman at the counter told me to bring it back on pick up but they would have none of that. They could not reach anyone to confirm that it was still a good Groupon. I asked them to dry clean my coat and we will see what happens. They would not let me leave with the pants unless I paid for the pants. Remember they still had my coat that looks pretty much ruined. I typically go to Silvestri and now I know why. I wasted ten minues at the counter and now have to return tomorrow. My recommendation is to go to a reputable dry cleaner like Silvestri. I will never go back again. And to add to insult, the pants were $8.90 to clean - more than most cleaners. read more

Well...the pick up on Tuesday was excellent. Kyle is always prompt and professional when he arrives. He did inform me that he would be off on Friday but assured me that I would receive my garments on Friday. I emailed on Friday and left a v/m to confirm delivery before the end of the day. Unfortunately, I did not get a response until after 5:00 but I was greeted with apologies and made arrangements to get my items. I was a little nervous, but it worked out well and I am very happy! My mother dropped my $2,000 wedding dress off to them, to be cleaned and preserved. They assured her she didn't need a ticket or anything until they call to have us come in and sign an agreement on the process etc. 3 weeks later, I called to see when we were coming in to sign said agreement. They cannot find my wedding dress. They cannot find me or my mother in the computer, when we've been there multiple times for various things such as cleaning my baby bonnet that turned into a hankie for my wedding day, and various special occasion dresses. I never was very fond of their customer service, but they typically did a good job so I figured since I was told they specialize in wedding dress cleaning and preservations, I would have them do it. Again, they lost my wedding gown. They have no clue where it is. I keep being told that "it's in the system, but we're not sure where it is." Or "the woman who took your dress no longer is with us" or "A manager will call you shortly with an answer". I'm sorry, but you claim to specialize in something, and claim you're the best in the area, and have the prices to support that, yet you LOST MY WEDDING GOWN!!!!!!!! I was skeptical coming from Sunshine Cleaners ( who do an amazing job) as they were closed for vacation for a week. Best Cleaners is possibly even better! They micro chip your clothes so there are no annoying tags. They also sort your pants from your shirts and they're very timely. Less then 24 hours of drop off, you receive an email stating your order is ready. They are very professional and courteous. The only downfall is they're a little expensive. Dropped them off at 10 a..m. and had an email by 8 a.m. the next day that they were ready. We've used several other dry cleaners in the area and none of them have been as customer friendly.
