I am not sure how a best buy gets an overall general rating of two stars. If I had to guess, poor service coupled with a lack of essential inventory. But that is my guess. In this pictureless Yelp I will recount the story of how a water spill resulted in some of the staff of this Walmart location rallying to find a soluation and their general was Layla, a Walmart employee that helped managed the emotional experience of possibly losing my computer to a water related accident. So the night before, I was drinking water, plain water, and I spilled some spashes into my computer. This has happened before. My computer rides with me, it is stury, it has fallen a few steps and still worked for me. It is my trusted tool and my security blanket rolled into one. I may not have a dog or a cat that follows me from place to place barking or meowing but Ido have my computer. That was never worse for the wear. Until I splashed water on it. Soon after I discovered a tragedy: I would click the letter e and the e would not appear on the screen. The function of the most used letter in writing had become unaccassible to me. Yikes! I tried to pat the comptuer with napkins but the e did not return to the shore, it had succumbed to the water damage. I figured that resting for the night would allow the computer to fix itself. Gargoyles are rumored to heal themselves in their stone form, and humans are rumored to heal some of their stuff and skin and bone during sleep so why would it work for my computer. However, the next morning the computer still did not work. So I went to best buy. The first associate I encountered was Luis. And here is the thing, I am not afraid of technology, but the idea of having to look amongst aisles for something I need that was in my head it was too intimidating for me. Like what would I do? Lose myself in the experience like an explorer who discovers a pit on their trek through a jungle. And I understand that I just described someone else's dream. Like going through racks, seeing what is out there, and discovering beauty is the pattern of shopping and I know some people build temples around the experience. But for me shopping for tech stuff is like I said, intimidating. So I told Luis I needed a non-cordless key board and then one that would also be wireless. He took me to the asile and then selected a cheap one. Great! I was helped just like a lady needing a very specific type of hat but did not know if it even existed. Of course, I had to come back to the store a few miinutes later because the cause the item was not at all what I needed. I griped to Layla. More vented. And so she heard my story, and gathered people to help me fix the problem. Another staff member umderstood theassingment and went to look for what I needed, a solution to a problem that I created but I needed someone else to resolve. The second staff membeer I did not get his name but I passed him as I was going to the restroom. He was explaining what he needed to another customer and the latter said good luck. Apparently, I introduced a jigsaw to the staff. So I came back from the bathroom. Layla informed me that she had asked Geek squad for the price of fixing my computer and it would cost 500. The implied answer--- get a new one for that price. But I am not in a spot in my life where I can get computers like billionaries get candy canes. So she had a backup plan a logitech key board and some sort of USB=C adapater. We tried the adapter it did not work. She went to another staff member and apparently we were just not pushing it tight enough. When it finally worked, it was Layla who finally tapped the first keys. It felt like she put the keys in the door of my brand new house. But she had earned the right in her own way and I am sure she did not see it as a ceremony moment. And aslo at the end shen said in a most sincere way I hope you day gets better and now that I can type again, it kind has. read more

This store currently has a 2-star rating, and I'm not trying to change that. I'm just sharing my observations. This store is wrapping up a complete remodel. I've stopped by three times in the past four weeks. Each visit, the floor plan had shifted; but the project is nearly finished. Best Buy seems to be doubling down on the store‑within‑a‑store concept -- brands have their own display zones, fixtures, and trained reps, while Best Buy retains full control of the retail space. I noticed showroom areas for brands that weren't there before. Speaking with a staff member, they're also planning to upgrade the appliance offerings. read more

Parked did the check in the parking spot and my item came out a computer within three to five minutes and this was around 8:00 PM on the 15th. Worst service I have ever experienced. Walked in on Saturday morning asking about an in store event for kids that was advertised. I was told tickets had all been given out, I couldn't see anyone in the store and it was a children's event, I could clearly see those with tickets were adults. I then wanted help with refurbished products and was told someone will come help. No one ever came. I asked a different associate who looked irritated I even approached him. It is unfortunate because I remember coming here as a kid and not be able to bring my kids here is sad. read more

I tried to call my local Best Buy store in Torrance today. I was routed to an AI agent, and when I asked to be transferred to the store's electronic department in Torrance, they shunted me off to human agent named Bernie whom I waited 6 minutes to talk to. Great. Not only does Best Buy have an extraordinary amount of disdain for its customers, but they don't even want to talk to them directly any more. I get it. Customers are hard. They ask questions... ugh... what a hassle, right? When I finally got through the barrage of abrasively upbeat music which threw in a melody from a whistling chorus (because there's no way of saying "I hate my customers" more than bad, upbeat music with a whistling chorus), I got to Bernie. Bernie seemed nice if a bit beleaguered. He sounded defeated in the way that came from a long, drawn out existential crisis that he seemed be losing. Bernie apologized that he did not in fact have the capability to transfer anyone to any department to any Best Buy anywhere. I can understand why he sounded so defeated. When I asked him why he could not, poor, defeated Bernie simply hung up. It's nice to know that Best Buy's corporate policy of disdain and utter hatred for its customer is so much a part of their corporate ethos that it makes down to even the lowliest phone operator. Well done, Best Buy. You did it. I called to check on their selection that I was not able to find on their web site. I went to a Best Buy close to my home and unfortunately they did not have the iPhone 17 I wanted so I headed to this location as they did. I patiently waited while an employee was finishing up with some customers. As soon as Paul Jaime finished with them, he greeted me and helped me right away. I knew exactly what I wanted and had all information so it was easy from the start. However, Paul went above and beyond with helping me set up my phone, helping me pick a case, and checking in with me as soon as my phone was complete with the overall transfer. As I waited plenty of others checked in with me. I had also purchased a Topo Chico on site and they helped me open it which was funny adventure itself. The friggin' employee's, on 8/17/25 we purchased Microsoft 365. The dumg-@$$ sales kid was messing around with two other sales people...one whom was off the clock the other still on the clock working. We had to repeat the e-mail and phone number a few times. Little did we know this kid screwed everything up. My wife never got the purchase notification. Fortunately I requested a copy of the receipt (duplicate). I have attempted to download our Microsoft 365, but, the confirmation message with the 6 digit confirmation numbers goes to whatever email he'd typed it which is not my wife's e-mail. I paid to have Geek Squad install my computer and printer. Twice the appointment was made without even confirming the date. The printer was ordered online by the technician which if you need to return you have to call another customer service number. The technician only showed us how to copy which was easy. But didn't show us how to scan which on this Epson has to be done on the computer. His vague explanations maybe ok for people who are computer savvy but not elderly people who aren't. We went in for the upgrades to the iPhone 17 for four lines and were assisted by a member who is working at the store representing AT&T named Ben. He offered white glove service and promotions and activations as soon as we left the store. The problem: Ben did not keep his word and left his phone, which she said was a direct contact to him and feel free to contact is now referring us to tech-support for AT&T in India, who can not only keep the same promotions, but it takes 60 minutes to reach a representative. Ben has been dismissive and evasive in texting as you can tell once the deal was done on his part no empathy, work ethic, or follow through was done making us potentially lose these promotions and delaying the times we are getting the phones. He also input a wrong email address for our account which she said would be fine. Turns out it's not fine and has caused more issue. Point being , I don't care how many buttons down your shirt needs to be and how cool and calm you are, Ben but your broken promises and lack of communication and deferral to Indian tech-support has left us with broken promises on promotions, delays on receiving phones, and now we have to call over and over to AT&T to redo this process. New hp tank printer would never connect. After 8 hrs of working with tech support I decided to return it. The 14 day return window passed, and so did their assistance. They offered to use geek squad, for a fee. Now I must go through the same process with the manufacturer. Best Buy is nothing but a middle man to take your money and pass you on. Alexis T was there immediately to help me. She asked a number of questions regarding exactly what I was looking for and offered up a handful of worthy suggestions. I ended up w a Sony product given their reputation. Note that I did compare prices against Amazon while in the store, and Best Buy was priced just about the same, if not a few dollars less. With the extraordinary help I got from Alexis, and the fact that we tried out all the sound bars she recommended and some I was just curious about...you can't get that service going through Amazon. I've had a very disappointing customer service experience with Best Buyover the past two months. Repeated attempts to resolve issues resulted in inconsistent information, poor follow-through, and no meaningful resolution. Support representatives across different international locations failed to take ownership or provide effective help. Because of this ongoing experience, I cannot recommend Best Buy. Two weeks ago, I came in to purchase a refrigerator. The customer service representatives have no human compassion. The woman working the section overheard me say that I was going to cancel an online purchase. She yelled at me across the area as though I was a bother to her. "If you want to cancel a purchase online, you need to call online. " She was rude and dismissive. I wasn't even talking to her. If she cared about the business, she'd know that I could cancel on my phone and buy in the store. Instead she discouraged me from shopping . Bought an open box tv that stated was in excellent condition. When I got home the tv had tons of scratches on the screen as well as on the back, and they gave me the wrong plug to connect to it and the remote also seemed to have issues since the light kept blinking on and off.
