However, there was poor communication the first time around and apparently the first guy thought that it would be acceptable to replace it with a GTX 2070 instead of the 2080 that it originally came with. Upon seeing a cheaper final price and promptly reading the receipt, I realized the mistake they made and asked them to order a 2080 instead, not minding how much longer it would take. They said that it would arrive in another couple of weeks and that I could just pay the $350 difference, no extra labor costs added. I was worried, but sure enough, they called me when it was ready and my $4000 laptop started up beautifully without a problem with a fresh installation of windows 11. They made it right and stayed true to their word, and I only had to pay the price difference. Thanks, uBreakiFix for not putting me through anymore headache. I gave up, bought a kit on Amazon for $35, and installed it myself in 10 minutes. I don't know where this project fell apart, but if the shop didn't want to take it on, they could have declined it.
